Hi. I am travelling from SFO to London, Ontario, Canada through ORD. Not sure where we (family of four) will clear customs and immigration. Is a 1 hour 40 minute layover sufficient?

There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. In ORD on your way to London, ON you just have to go from your arrival gate in Terminal 1 to your departure gate in Terminal 2. They are connected inside security by a walkway. You have enough time.

Coming in from Europe on LOT Polish Air at 7:40pm. Is that enough to clear customs and transfer to an 8:55pm flight?

No, that would not be possible.

Thanks. I was thinking it won't be enough time, but hoping it would work.

Arriving 08:01 in Terminal 1 from Philadelphia. Departure 09:07 to Edmonton from Terminal 2. Is that enough time to connect for this international flight?

Yes that is enough time. A walkway connects T1 and T2 inside security.

Hello, we are arriving from Paris on April 29th at 5.40 pm at Terminal 5 and must take a flight Skywest:United from Terminal 2. How long will it take? Any itinerary to do so quickly as we have no checked bags (only hand luggage) any photos to show the way? thank you so much dppoun@gmail.com

With no checked baggage you can use the one stop lane to clear immigration and customs. I still recommend 2 hrs for your connection.

I'll be flying from ORD to Green Bay, WI. Arriving at Terminal 5 and going to Terminal 2. Is 1hr55m enough time?

If both flights are on the same reservation that should be enough time. You will claim your bags to go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the re-check desk in T5 before taking the ATS Train to T2. Also be sure to check the monitors because there is a small chance your flight to Green Bay could leave from T1 rather than T2.

My wife flies from Charlotte to ORD on AA 1916 and connects with AA flight 289 to Shanghai. Only one hour layover. Is that enough time?

Yes, that is enough time if your first flight is on-time. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both on the H/K concourse.

  • Layover time enough or not

We will be travelling from Toronto to Chicago via UA547 which arrives at 0757 and then connect to UA1880 which leaves at 0930 to Anchorage. Do we have enough time in between flights as we cannot miss the flight in order to catch the transfer to cruise terminal?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 1. You should have plenty of time as long as your first flight is anywhere close to on-time.

I have a ticket all on one itinerary that goes from US city to ORD on United, then onto ANA airline to tokyo. Will I need to retrieve my bags and check them in again, or can they transfer them? 1.5 hour connecting flight

You do not have to do anything with your bags at ORD on your way to Tokyo. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. ANA departs from United's terminal 1.

Will be arriving ORD from IAD at 10:05 on United - believe T1 Will depart ORD to LAS at 1:38 on American - believe T3 Will I be able to make the connection in 2 1/2 hours if I have checked baggage?

Yes, that should be enough time, even if you have checked bags and have to transfer them yourself between airlines. If you don't have checked bags you can just walk from T1 to T3 inside security.

  • Connecting LAX-ORD-CPH
    Jan 9, 2016
American Airlines from LAX to ORD Terminal 3 with a transfer to Terminal 5 for flight on Scandinavian to CPH having to recheck all luggage. Layover is an hour and 20 minutes. I doubt it, but will I make this?

Yes, I doubt it do. If you can somehow do the trip without checked baggage you have a chance. You could also try to change your flight to an earlier one from LAX. Even if you have to pay a fee it's worth it if it means you have a chance of making this connection. Sometimes at time of check-in airlines offer the ability to change your flight for a reduced fee (usually $75 compared to $200+Fare difference).

  • Distance Between Connecting Gates?
    Jan 8, 2016
I connect in ORD: flying in from SFO (Flt 620) and out to London Heathrow (Flt 958). Both flights are with United and into/out of Term. 1. I have a 1 hour 11 min. connection time. Does anyone know which gates for these flights or the average time it takes to walk from C1 to B31 gates?

You can walk between any two gates in Terminal 1 in about 15 minutes. You should have plenty of time.

  • 1 hour and 15 minutes connection

Hello, I fly Detroit to ORD and ORD to Amsterdam. Connection time is 1 hour and 15 minutes, flying United both flights. Is it enough? From what I saw, I should arrive to concourse B and fly from C

You could arrive in B, C, E, or F and will depart from B or C (usually C). All United gates at ORD are connected inside security. That should be enough time as long as your flight from Detroit is on-time.

Flying from Kansas City to ORD to Dublin. Will only have 40 minutes at ORD to connect to DUBLIN flight. All flights are on America. Is this enough time? Returning have 90 minutes to connect.

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 3.

If an international flight connects in another state before arriving at phase is it then a domestic? I.e. Tel aviv-philidalphia-ohare

Your second flight is domestic. If it is on American you will arrive in Terminal 3 at O'Hare. You will go through US Immigration and Customs in Philadelphia.
