  • Is 40 min enough connection time for a United flight?
    Apr 29, 2015

thinking of booking a united flight from Den to YQB (Quebec) with connection through ORD but layover is only 40 min and I'll have luggage. Is that enough time for me and bags to transfer?

That should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. However, I personally would try to get an earlier flight from Denver because as you know there aren't many flights from the US to YQB.

    Thanks!

  • Questions about travelling between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3

Hello I land in Terminal 2, with an AirCanada flight at 10:41am, and my next flight is is Terminal 3 at 11:50am with a US Airways flight. Will I have have enough time to get to the flight?? And will I have to get my luggage or go through security? Thank you.

Just to clarify my above comment. The tickets were all purchased together, it is a layover.

If the tickets were bought together you should not have to claim your bags or go through security. You can walk from T2 to T3 inside security. Just walk to the base of T2 and make a right.

Also, yes, you should have enough time if your first flight is on-time and also you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Canada.

Hello there! I have a flight from Berlin (TXL) to Chicago and then a domestic connection to Miami (all in one tricket) I arrive to terminal 5 and then departure from terminal 3 Do I have to claim my baggage, and recheck? I am also not the U.S. citize so I have to go through emigration and custom at ORD am i right? Is 1 hour 55 mins enough time to catch the flight to MIA?

Yes, in ORD you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then take the ATS Train to Terminal 3 and go through security. You should have enough time.

I will be landing at terminal 2 at 11:25 am and my connecting flight will be taking off from Terminal 5 at 13:30. Will 2 hrs & 5 mins time enough to take my connecting intenational flight. please someone give me sincere advise . I ma really scared.

What airlines are you flying? Were your tickets purchased separately or together? Will you have checked bags? I can't really answer this question without that info.

Air canada from Toronto pearson Intn"l airport and the thru Airindia to delhi from terminal 5 I purchased my tickets togethet i will have hand bags and we r 4 people

That should be enough time. You will preclear US immigration and customs in Toronto. All you have to do is take the ATS train from T2 to T5, get your Air India boarding passes if you don't already have them, then go through security.

I arrive at 5:40pm in Terminal 5 SAS airlines and need to get to Terminal 1 United to catch a 9:06pm to St. Louis. Tickets were purchased separately. Will this give me enough time to connect?

That should be plenty of time.

i have a 40 minute layover between my united flight from detroit to my united flight to tokyo. all is in terminal one. will this be enough time? will there be a security check at ohare?

There is no security check at O'Hare, all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Your flight from Detroit may actually arrive in Terminal 2 but it is connected to Terminal 1 inside security.

  • [sea to lhr through ord] 60 mins enough?

My flight is with United Airlines from Seattle to Heathrow with a connection in Chicago. The flight is set to arrive at 5.20pm (I don't know which terminal) and the next one departs at 6.20pm from Terminal 1. Is this enough time to make it? Will have to recheck baggage? What happens if there's a delay on their end and I miss the flight?

If your first flight is on United it will also arrive in Terminal 1. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time. If you miss your flight because your first flight is late, you will be rebooked on the next flight. There is a 9 PM flight to Heathrow.

Yes, the first flight is with United as well. Thank you for replying. It was the only flight available to me and I was kind of panicking.

  • Transfer tim enough?

I arrive on United at 7.10pm in terminal 1 - need to claim baggage and then check in for the 8.30 Emirates flight to Dubai in terminal 5. Is this enough time? can I check in the baggage at terminal 1?

No, you will need to bring the bags to Terminal 5. You will barely have enough time if your first flight is on-time. The Emirates check-in desk closes 1 hour before departure, so you only have 20 minutes to arrive, get your bags, and take the ATS Train to Terminal 5. If you can get an earlier flight to Chicago I highly recommend it.

Hi. Will be flying in from Qatar and out to DSM with 2 hours 5 mins between flights. I believe it will be terminal 5 and 3. Will this be enough time for the layover?

Yes, if your tickets were purchased on one reservation that should be enough time.

I am traveling from Pittsburgh to Chicago OHare. At Chicago OHare, I am taking an international flight. Is 2 a hour layover time at Ohare enough? Will I clear security at Pittsburgh or Chicago OHare? I also will have checked baggage, so must I pick it up at Ohare or will it be checked to my final (international) destination?

What airlines are you flying? Did you buy your tickets together or separately?

Hello, we're flying United from Houston and have a connection time of only 40 mins to catch an international United Airlines flight to London. I noticed that United International Departures are in Terminal 1, but do the majority of inbound domestic United flights end up in terminal 1 as well or does United use a lot of terminal 2 for inbound domestic flights?

Both of your flights will be in Terminal 1.
