We will be arriving on Choice One Air, Terminal 1, and leaving on United, Terminal 3. Will we have to collect our baggage and go through security. About how much time will we need?
You have the terminals reversed. Air Choice One uses Terminal 3 and United uses Terminal 1. Yes, you will have to claim your bags in Terminal 3, take them to Terminal 1 (either walk or take the ATS) re-check and go through security. You need at least 2 hours.
I will be traveling from Gremany to Honolulu with a stopover at ORD of 135 minutes. Keeping in view that I have to go through immigration and Passport control too; is this duration long enough? How would it help if I skip my check-in luggage?
PS: I hold Pakistani passport.
I plan to travel in mid of June, 2017
Yes, that is enough time. If you don't check any bags then you don't have to claim and re-check them to go through Customs in the International Terminal, which saves you a few minutes.
@ZAP. Thanks for the reply. I have heard that security clearance for people having Pakistani or similar passports might take some time. Any experience/knowledge about such cases in particular?
I'm flying to ORD to catch a flight to Tel Aviv. I'm flying United Airlines for both flights. Will I need to claim my checked bag and re-enter security/customs or is it possible to check my bag all the way through?
There are no nonstop flights from Chicago to Tel Aviv. Where exactly are you flying from and to?
I'm flying to Austria and from there to Tel Aviv.
I fly to ORD from BHM.
Your bags will be checked through all the way to Tel Aviv if everything is on the same reservation. However, the flight to Austria is operated by Austrian Airlines and departs from the International Terminal (Terminal 5). You will arrive in Terminal 1 or 2. In Chicago you will have to take the ATS Train from your arrival terminal to Terminal 5 and go through security. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.
I am looking at purchasing a ticket to ORD from ATL, on Delta, arriving at 0824. I have a connecting flight, on ANA, from ORD to BKK that departs at 1100. I will have a checked bag from ORD from ATL. Will the 2hr 30mins be enough time?
That's just enough time if the Delta flight is on-time. You will have to claim your bag in Terminal 2, take it to Terminal 1, re-check it with ANA, and go through security.
I am flying AA from MSY to ORD (arriving 05:52PM) and departing on SAS to ARN (07:45 PM), 1h 53 min between flights. Is that enough time to make connection? What ORD terminals sill be for arrival and departure?
You will arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Terminal 5. Is this two separate reservation or one reservation? Do you have checked bags?
I'm a student travelling from India to Toronto via Chicago ORD, I would be taking an Air India Flight and reach Chicago ORD at 6:30 AM on 30 December, my connecting flight is an Air Canada Flight departuring at 8:50 AM from Chicago ORD. Would I require an transit visa and also do I need to collect my baggage and and again check in with it.
Yes, you need to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to Terminal 2, get your Air Canada boarding passes if you don't already have them, then go through security. You need a US Transit Visa. You should have enough time. You probably should have asked about this more than 8 days before your trip.
