I am flying United from Tokyo to Toronto with a layover in Chicago (NRT > ORD > YYZ) all on one ticket. I will have 2 checked baggages. Will I be arriving from Terminal 5 and departing at Terminal 1? Will my baggages be delivered to Toronto directly without rechecking them, and will I need to go through US Customs? Thanks!
You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, take the ATS Train to Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 (check the monitors for your departure gate, if it's E or F get off at T2), then go through security and to your departure gate.
Hi, I am flying from Montreal into O'Hare on Air Canada and have 1.5 hours to get my connecting flight to Tokyo (ANA). Do I enough time? Do I have to go through customs again? I will have 1 checked bag.. Thanks for your help. Ed.
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate in Terminal 2 to your departure gate in Terminal 1. There is a walkway connecting them inside security. You have enough time.
I'll be flying to Dayton from Des Moines, layover in Chicago. both flights are with United. Is 1h15 layover enough? I am an EU citizen. Do I have to go through immigration again and re-check my baggage? Thanks!
Yes, that is enough time. There is no US Immigration or customs when traveling within the US (Ohio, Illinois, and Iowa are all in the United States). You also don't have to do anything with your baggage. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Hello I am a Canadian, leaving from YYZ on a United/AC flight and connecting at ORD on to aUnited Honalulu flight. The connection time is 1hour 18 mins at ORD. Will that be sufficient? Will I clear customs in TO? Thanks
Yes, you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
Thanks. Will I have to change terminals?
You will arrive in Terminal 1 or 2 and depart from Terminal 1. 1 and 2 are connected inside security by a walkway.
I am arriving in Chicago at Term1 9/20 (from Calif) and have a connecting flight to Dublin from Terminal 5. I have almost 4 hrs between flights but what transportation is there avail. to get to Term. 5
The ATS Train runs from Terminal 1 to Terminal 5 outside security. Just follow the signs for the 5 in an orange box.
