  • Different Terminals
    May 22, 2015
My friend and I are both flying out of ORD but from different terminals. Her flight leaves before mine- can I go in through security at terminal 3 even though my flight leaves out of terminal 1? We'd like to have lunch together before her flight. Thanks

  • Time between connecting flights
    Apr 13, 2015
Hi, I will be flying with United Airlines from Calgary, AB to Elmira, NY with a stop at Chicago O'Hare Airport. Will a connection time of 1 hour and 40 minutes be enough time to make it through customs and make my next flight? Thanks!

  • connecting flight YVR - ORD- MCO
    Mar 5, 2015
I am arriving from YVR (Vancouver BC) to ORD on April 7 and have a connecting flight to MCO all flights with United Airlines - do I have to claim and re-check my baggage? I have 1hr and 15 mins between flights - is this enough time?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate which will both be in Terminal 1. You should have plenty of time.

thank you! Just a confirmation - so you don't have to claim baggage?

I'm flying from Seoul to Chicago to Toronto with a 3 hour layover at ORD. When I'm rechecking my baggage, I'm not dragging my luggage all the way to Terminal 2? Is there a transferring area of some kind when I collect my bags and pass through customs?

What airline are you flying to Toronto? If your bags are already tagged to YYZ then you can re-check at the transfer desk in Terminal 5 after you clear US Customs.

  • Getting to delta sky club in t2 from t3
    Jan 14, 2015
If I'm flying on AA out of terminal 3 but want to use club pass for delta sky club in terminal 2, can I get there or will security not let me?

There is a walkway between T3 and T2 inside security.

  • TSA Lines on December 26
    Dec 18, 2014
I'm flying Spirit Airlines out of O'Hare on December 26th at 5 PM. I'm going to try printing boarding passes from home and will not have any bags to check. I know the day after Christmas is a pretty busy travel day. Will arriving at the airport 2 hours before the flight get me through security and to the gate without having to rush?

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

  • Connecting to go to Canada
    Dec 9, 2014
In August I'll be flying from Denver to Montreal via Chicago ORD. The connection is about 1 hr and 15 minutes. Will everything be taken care of in Denver for the International flight? It's the same for the return flight...Montreal to Chicago to Denver.

Yes, all you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate both ways. On the way to Montreal you will go through Canadian Immigration in Montreal and on the way back you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal, so your arrival into Chicago will be like a domestic flight.

I have a flight at O'hare around christmas time. My flight is at 1:20pm and I am taking a shuttle that arrives at 12:00pm at the airport. Will I make the flight?

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

Its an international flight, and its christmas so im kinda worried bout those factors coming into play. Even with these factors, do u think i can make it?

International flights are no different other than they board about 15 minutes earlier than normal. Contrary to popular belief airports are not drastically more crowded at christmastime than a normal day.

I flew out if ohare on Saturday and the security line was quick but if you are checking bags those lines were ridiculous. Give yourself at least two hours maybe three. You're better off just sitting there waiting for your plane rather than trying to find the next flight out

  • Baggage Transfer and Connecting Flights

Will be arriving on ANA from NRT (Tokyo) transferring to UAL to IAD. Will we be arriving at Terminal 5. Do we clear customs and immigration there? Is there a baggage transfer facility at Terminal 5? How do we get from Terminal 5 to Terminal 1 (UAL). It will be January 28th and do we need to go outside to get between terminals? Asking because we will be coming from a tropical climate and may need to unpack jackets and hats before rechecking baggage. Thanks much.

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, then there is a re-check desk immediately after you exit customs. Then you will take the ATS train to Terminal 1. The corridors to the ATS train are indoors. Once you reach Terminal 1 you will go through security.
