change of terminal & checkin.Oct 10, 201120I have to go to Etihad Counter in T5 to collect boarding Pass to take their flight. I will be arriving at T3 by American Airlines from Atlanta. How to go to T5? Is the airline checkin counter is close to ATS stop at T5? I have only 1 hour 30 minitues between my arrival at T3 and departure at T5PKJposted on Tue, Oct 4From Terminal 3, take the ATS train which runs every few minutes to Terminal 5. The Upper Level of Terminal 5 is the Departures Level facing the upper roadway with entrance doors 5B-5F, which has the ticketing counters. Terminal 5 has Concourse M with 'M gates: to right M2-21, to left M7-M1, center M8-M1. - some gate areas are long. No time to waste!MUCposted on Wed, Oct 5

Shopping after baggage claimSep 14, 201111My boyfriend and I are travelling to Chicago. He will arrive one hour later as we are travelling with different airlines. Can I claim my baggage and go (window)shopping meanwhile I wait for his arrival?IRLposted on Wed, Sep 141 person likes this post [ Like ]It depends on which of the terminals each one of you arrive at. Find out by looking at your/his tickets. Presuming you both arrive from a domestic flight, you would arrive at either Terminals 1, 2 or 3. The ATS shuttle train runs between them on the ATS level. There is also a pedestrian tunnel between those terminals, with access to the baggage claim where you could meet.HH39posted on Wed, Sep 14

Check-in luggage are bags that you check in when you enter the Airport terminal and they will be loaded into the airplane where you retrieve them at the baggage claim area of your arrival terminal.MUCposted on Tue, Aug 16

Connecting flightsAug 8, 201111I have a connecting flight with American Airlines with only 1 hour 40 minutes between fliths...what can I do so I make sure I won`t miss my flight on custom & security cues? Is there anybody I should talk to at the airport? I really cannot miss this flight or my all trip will be lost, help?Julesposted on Sun, Aug 7AA is in both Terminals T3 & T5. (look at your ticket). If you arrive on an international flight at International Terminal 5 and need to transfer to any of the Domestic Terminals: After exiting the Federal Inspection and luggage re-check areas, proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System (ATS) where you can easily connect to either terminals 1, 2 or 3 for domestic flights. A free shuttle train running every few minutes can take you there. Furthermore, all terminals are connected by a pedestrian tunnel (the terminals are close together arranged in a semi-circle.HH39posted on Mon, Aug 81 person likes this post [ Like ]

Security Check for International FlightsJun 17, 201110I'm flying into Chicago from Los Angeles. And then have to take a flight to India. Do I have to undergo security check again between the 2 flights ( considering I will go through security once at LA and have no intention of going out of the airport at chicago )DELHIposted on Fri, Jun 17Since you are on a domestic flight from Chicago to LA, chances are you will arrive at one of the 8 domestic terminals, from which you will have to take the blue-marked LAX Bus Route A to the International Tom Bradley terminal. Look at your ticket to see which terminal you arrive at (T1 - T8). Once you leave the secured area, you need to go through security again. However, if your arrival states TBIT (Tom Bradley), you can proceed directly to your connecting gate. Keep in mind that shuttle runs every 12-15 mins, starting at T4 on to T8 and around to T1, T2, T3, and TBIT. Also make sure that your checked bags are tagged as through-luggage, so that they will automatically be transferred to your India flight. Good luck!HH39posted on Fri, Jun 17

lost in space - wow advanced securityMay 26, 201113Our friends are here in Toronto for the first time ever. First off they got up at 4:30 a.m. then off to the airport - first flight canceled 2nd flight canceled then they were scheduled on air canada and arrived. BUTTTTT their luggage (2 pcs) are somewhere .. with all the advanced security measures because of 911 how do you feel that their luggage was deleted out of the system at American Airlines and they wont even speak to them now. Air Canada a claim was made but because the tags were not switched BY American Airlines when their flight was changed no one has a clue where these bags are .... HOW SAFE ARE WE??????? Plus all their prescription medications are in their luggage for heart medication and diabetes / allergies .. no one will take accountability or authroize our friends to state that they WILL be re embursed for their medical visits and or medicine ... Lost luggage out of the system and no one will admit who is at fault :( so sadannielolposted on Thu, May 263 people like this post [ Like ]Your frustration is understandable & I am truly sorry for the time & expense you & your visitors had to undergo. Part of the blame is due to the wild weather patterns which caused delays throughout the country & airlines are overwhelmed with inquiries and switched baggage. I do hope that eventually all parties will find a common ground. Good luck!HH39posted on Thu, May 26

Security check from terminal 5 to 3May 27, 201121I am entering US at ORD terminal 5 from a oversea flight, and have a connecting flight at terminal 3, both are AA flights. I would like to ask if I have to take my baggage with me when taking the airport train from terminal 5 to 3 and go through security check again at terminal 3.Tonyposted on Wed, May 251 person likes this post [ Like ]You need to make sure that your checked bags are properly tagged to your end destination. Contact AA with your flight numbers in hand, to make sure. ORD instructions for international passengers transferring o domestic terminals: After Federal inspection & luggage re-check areas proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System to connect to T1, T2 or T3.HH39posted on Thu, May 26Whenever you arrive in the US from an International location, you MUST clear customs, which means you have to pick up your bag from baggage claim, then pass through customs. Outside customs, you can recheck your bags with most carriers, and your bags should already be pre-tagged to go to the final destinationHH39posted on Fri, May 27
