Main Terminal / Concourses at Christchurch International CHC Airport
The present passenger terminal complex at Christchurch International Airport is in the final stages of its transformation into one integrated passenger terminal.
Completed projects so far include:
1. the integrated check-in hall is now used for all flights. Simply look on arrival for your airline sign;
2. extensive choices of food outlets & retail stores are available on level one;
3. ground level relocation of baggage reclaim area for domestic jet aircraft arrivals (next to the public international arrivals area);
4. the Regional Lounge on the ground level - to the left of the check-in hall - is now for regional flights & turboprop aircraft, and houses a small cafe' the Koru Express lounge & baggage reclaim area is for turboprop flight arrivals;
5. the new domestic jet lounge with 4 new gates offers spectacular views of the mountains and an airside Relay store.
6. Demolishion of the old terminal and creation of 2 new airbridges.
The present terminal has its regional entrance at left end of the complex (with regional departure lounge and gates 3-52, Air NZ Koru Express office and regional baggage claim). The center has a domestic Arrivals entrance (leading to domestic baggage claim, and domestic arrivals), an International & Domestic check-in entrance (leading to the check-in counters and to both domestic departure lounge (gates 4-10) and international depatures gates). The right side of the complex houses passport control, international baggage claim, & MAP screening.
