City of Derry LDY Airport Overview

City of Derry Airport LDY serves the County of Londonderry, Northern Ireland, and is located on the south bank of Lough Foyle, close to the village of Eglinton, and 11 km northeast of the city of Derry. The Airport is accessible via the A2 Londonderry – Coleraine road (from Derry: at Caw Roundabout at eastern end of Foyle Bridge, take main A2 to Coleraine Road for 7 miles). Work on motorway A2 from Maydown to Einton and the Airport has been completed, providing a high-speed dual carriageway to Derry.  
With an estimated 346,000 passengers a year (expected to increase considerably in the near future), the City of Derry Airport is served by Ryanair and Aer Arran, offering direct and connecting flights to all points of the globe, as well as by seasonal charters to popular vacation destinations.
 
The passenger terminal at Derry Airport is offers the following amenities: The Information desk is, aside from dealing with airport-related inquiries (not airlines) and paging, is also responsible for foreign currency exchange – mainly for Sterling & Euros (tel. +44 (0) 28 7181 0784), and parking fee payments by credit card or check. It also serves as a local Tourist Information point, and assists in bookings and reservations for events and accommodations.  
Other amenities and services in the passenger terminal include: a number of shops and food & drink establishments, located in both the main concourse and the departure area.
A Business Lounge and a conference room for up to 15 people is on the first floor, full catering is available and audiovisual equipment must be ordered at time of booking (tel: +44 (0) 28 7181 3300/ fax: 1426.
The Amelia Earhart Business Lounge was recently opened in the departure lounge. Acces to it is arranged through the Information Desk.

Parking options at City of Derry Airport: For security reasons, the Car Park at Derry Airport is only open during airport opening hours. You will not be able to access your car outside these hours. Summer hours are Mo,Tu,We,Fri 6:30am-10pm; Th 6:30am-9pm; Sa 6:30am-5:30pm & Su 10am-10:15pm. For winter schedule call +44 (0) 2871 810784. 
The parking lot in front of the passenger terminal serves both short- and long-term parking needs. The first 15 mins are free – ideal for picking up/ dropping off a passenger. 
Parking fees must be paid at either of the two pay stations in the terminal’s exit lobby prior to returning to your car.
Disabled parkers with a blue disabled badge get the first two hours free, but normal rates apply thereafter.

To get from Derry Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi, a bus or a train:  (a) The taxi rank is in front of the passenger terminal. The fare to Derry is about 12 pounds.
(b) The Ulsterbus runs between the Airport and the City Bus depot on Foyle Street, and between the Airport and Limavady. Other Ulsterbus lines and Translik services run between the Foyle Street bus depot and town & cities throughout Northern Ireland, including the Maiden City Express from Belfast. (c) The daily Belfast to Derry train leaving Londonderry train station at Duke Street in the Waterside area of Derry stops at various towns including Ballymena, Coleraine, Portrush, Castlerock & Limavady.
