i have a flight from London to Lima with a 2 hour 55 min connection, I'm really concerned that this won't be a long enough connection time. so i spoke to my travel agents ho supposedly spoke to the American airlines who said we won't have to go through immigration and collect our bags is this incorrect?

You will have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security, but you won't have to collect your bags. You have plenty of time.

  • re checking required for dallas to denver travelling from doha
    Mar 8, 2016
hi, I'm travelling from doha to denver via dfw on qatar. Do I need to re checkin my bags in dwf? or is it I can collect my bags directly in denver without baggage checking ?

In DFW you will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, go through security, and take the skylink train to your departure terminal and gate.

  • Re-check baggage at DFW for International flight?
    Mar 1, 2016
My mom is flying from OAK to DFW to Eritrea; does she have to recheck my luggage again in DFW to Eritrea? If so, is there some assistance we can set up in OAK with re-checking the bags? She's an older lady and will need help with bags and language? Thank you.

There are no nonstop flights from DFW to Eritrea. She must be flying somewhere else first. What airlines is she flying? The only airline that flies nonstop from Oakland to DFW is Spirit Airlines. Spirit does not transfer bags to or from any other airlines. If she is flying Spirit, she will have to claim her bags in Terminal E and then likely take a bus to Terminal D to re-check her bags with her International carrier.

It's my first time to use the DFW, I land from Narita Japan,i have to go to Miami then to Manaus Brazil. Kindly teach me the procedures.

You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. If it is in Terminal A or C (likely), then you will take the Skylink train there after going through security. In Miami all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

    Thanks for the information.

  • Transfer area
    Feb 9, 2016
My daughter is flying from sydney to dfw on American operated by Quantas 7308 then onto BWI on American 2361. She has been told she must retrieve her bags at a transfer area at DFW. Where is the baggage transfer area? two hours between fiights!

She will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim her bags (it's a special international baggage claim), go through US customs, re-check her bags at the re-check desk, then go to the departure level, through security and then to her departure gate which may be in another terminal. The Skylink train connects all terminals inside security.

    Thank you so much!

    thank you

  • AA checked baggage
    Feb 9, 2016
My AA flight from San Fran to Orlando has a layover time of 47 mins from 0613 until 0700. Is this normally enough time for my checked hold baggage to be transferred to my connecting flight

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • sfo to yyz, dallas connection
    Oct 27, 2015
I'm flying from SFO to YYZ with 1hr 50 min layover at DFW. Do I need to retrieve my luggage then back to customs/security/check-in again? or will my luggage arrive at YYZ directly?

Your bags will go straight to Toronto. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I will be coming to DFW in the morning 7am AA, have international flight connection at 4pm in Qatar airways. Does DFW airport have clock room or luggage room, where i check in my luggage and go put of airport for shopping/lunch? Thanks

There are no baggage storage facilities at DFW. If you would like to leave the airport during your layover, you will have to bring your bags with you.

  • Lost Bags

flew in from sydney to dallas fort worth on sunday cleared through customs and came to a airport official near terminal D that said put ur bags on the carasell and your bags will go to ur flight but they were only checked in as far as dallas i kept telling him that but he said it would be ok who at the airport do i see as i received none of my bags back

You should contact Qantas as the bags were probably delivered to their bag office as they were the last tag on the bag.

The number to contact them in the US is: 1 866 767 2247

  • 2 Seperate R/T Reservations

I will be flying R/T from Shreveport to DFW on 08/01/14 and returning on 08/09/14 flying AA. I am leaving on 08/02/14 R/T to LHR and returning 08/09/14 on Delta Airlines. My question is upon arrival at DFW on 08/09 I will go through Customs with my luggage, Will I have to then leave the terminal, come back to AA and then check in with them, or is there any way to check bags through to SHV and just recheck them after clearing Customs?

Delta does not fly from DFW to LHR. You will be entering the US Somewhere other than DFW if you booked a DFW-LHR-DFW ticket with Delta.

I'm sorry, you are correct...I am flying KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, operated by Delta. I also left out that the flight back into DFW will be LHR-AMS-DFW.

So Actually all of your "Delta" flights are operated by KLM, so you will arrive in Terminal D, which also handles AA flights so re-checking your bags with AA will be a lot easier as you won't have to change terminals with your baggage. You can re-check your bags in Terminal D then go through security and take the Skylink train to your departure gate in Terminal B

Thank you very much....this eases my mind alot!

You will arrive in A. You will go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags with US Airways, then you will go up to the departure level and through security and to your departure gate. Your flight to Indianapolis will likely depart from Terminal B. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.
