I am flying out of Tucson Az landing in Dfw i have an 1hr 30 min layover to catch connecting flight to london is this enough time? and will i have to go through customs in dallas or london? hearing mixed ideas. also i am flying AA

There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

Thanks for the quick reply when I called the airlines for some reason they were telling me I did have to which was very confusing to me. Another thing, my Origional plans where to fly from phx to yyc and yyc to gatwick I have already purchased this tickets but after doing some research I found out I might run into some trouble since my girlfriend got a dui three years ago, the layover in Calgary is 1hr 35min, any thoughts on this because I take a complete loss on those non refundable tickets and spend $3000 for two new tickets that don't connect through Canada

Yes, your girlfriend will be denied entry to Canada.

  • Layover

Hi, I will be traveling from belize to LAX but I will have a layover for 12hours @ DFW. Do I have to get a hotel or I can stay overnight at the airport? Will the immigration asked me about a booked hotel to stay while layover?

Immigration doesn't care where you will stay the night, once you clear customs you are in the US, they don't care where you go after that as long as you don't overstay your visa. Yes, according to sleepinginairports.com, DFW is one of the better airports in the US to spend the night in - http://www.sleepinginairports.net/usa/dallas.htm

Thank you so much for the response :-)

  • Overnight layover checked baggage

Flying from Ohio to Dallas to Germany with a layover of about 24 hours in DTW. Will my luggage be checked through to Germany or will I have to claim it in DTW and recheck it before my flight? Please help. Thanks in advance.

DTW is Detroit. But I'm guessing since you said "Dallas, you mean DFW. With a 24 hour layover you will have to claim and re-check your baggage.

I have a terminal change/lay over question. Will I make my second flight to Belize in the short period in between the 2 flight. It is the only flight to belize that day. If I miss it. I am stuck in texas. Layover: 1h 11m How long is it to get to the next terminal and where is it?? I have Flight (AA 1114 America) for Sat, Apr 23 Depart 9:00 AM La Guardia, New York (LGA) i Terminal B Arrive 12:09 PM Dallas/Fort Worth Intl, Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Terminal 0 Info 4h 09m Boeing 737-800 Economy Layover: 1h 11m Flight AA 269 American AA-logo Date Sat, Apr 23 Depart 1:20 PM Dallas/Fort Worth Intl, Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Terminal D Arrive 3:10 PM Philip S. W. Goldson Int'l Airport, Belize City (BZE) Info 2h 50m 1189 miles Boeing 737-800 Economy Free bags: 0 pcs

The Skylink train connects all terminals and gates inside security at DFW. If your flight from LGA is on-time you have plenty of time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • IS 40 minutes layover enough ?
    Jan 22, 2016
I'm traveling San Diego to RDU with layover in DFW. Is 40 minutes layover in DFW enough to make the connecting flight?

It's enough time but it obviously leaves no time to spare if the first flight is delayed.

  • travelling to Vegas via DFW from London
    Jan 19, 2016
i will be travelling to USA for the first time in March. going to Vegas but via DFW, nothing got mentioned when i booked but we only have 1hr 40 mins layover between flights, both our flight to DFW and the connecting flight to Las Vegas are with AA. Will we have to collect our bags or do they go straight onto the Vegas flight and will we get through customs in time? I hadn't realised we would have to deal with customs at DFW when i booked as thought that would be done at Las Vegas. The day of the flight is a Tuesday(late afternoon/early evening) so not sure how busy it will be then

In DFW You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You have barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

thanks for the reply ZAP, would you suggest i try to re-arrange my flight to get the later flight to Vegas or leave it and just let AA put us onto the next available flight. Not sure how busy immigration/customs will be around 1700 on a Tuesday.

Since your current connection is "Legal" I doubt you could be put on the later flight right now without paying a change fee, so I suggest just going with your ticketed itinerary and hoping for the best.

  • 1hr 45 mins connection is enough with custom and luggages?

  • Is 2.30 hour enough to make transfer for American Airline?
    Dec 29, 2015
Hi, I will be flying to Dallas from Seoul (South Korea) for layover. My final destination is Houston. I have 2hr 45min and I will be flying all American Airline. Is this enough time? Many thanks!

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • 9 hours in DFW
    Dec 5, 2015
I arrive at 5.30am from Santiago and then I take a domestic connection to Philadelphia at 2pm.. All on AA. So I've got nearly 9 hours in DFW. I think immigration and TSA and the such would be quick as its a very early arrival. So I guess that at 6.30am I'm free.. Anything I can do? Is it worth taking the train to Dallas? or Fort Worth? Irving?... I'd appreciate any ideas so I can do some recreation/relax for those hours! Thanks!

You could take a shuttle to Fort Worth and walk around a bit, but it'll still be early morning and there won't be much to do there. There's also not really anything to do in Downtown Dallas, especially early in the morning. I would just buy a one day pass to the Admirals Club and try to relax there.

  • 13 hours - What to do with luggage?
    Nov 23, 2015
Hi there, My husband and I arrive Jan 1, 2016 around 6am and have ALL the way until 8pm that day in Dallas. Lots of time to catch a shuttle into town, however, given it's over 12 hours it's my understanding we have to reclaim our baggage... How annoying! Any suggestions how ot make this a reasonably enjoyable layover?

  • Using Dallas as in-transit only
    Nov 18, 2015
I'll fly in December Monterrey (MX) - Dallas - Buenos Aires. Hence, I'll be in Dallas only for 3 hours, just in transit to Buenos Aires. I was told that, in these cases, I don't need to pick up my luggage. Also, that there's a separate line, in Immigration, for people that is in-transit. Is this correct? Thanks!

Yes, if both flights are on American that is true. You will go through US Immigration and Security during your layover.

OK great. And regarding US Immigration process, is there a separate line for "in-transit people"? or is it the same line as for the non-US citizen? Thanks!

I'm not familiar with the setup at DFW and it may depend on your citizenship/visa status.

np. Thanks a lot for your help!

  • Transit Visa/Luggage Collection
    Nov 22, 2014
Hi, I will be travelling from Vancouver to Dubai. I will have 3.5hrs layover in Dallas and connecting flight to London. My questions are: Do I need a transit visa to Dallas even if i am not going out of the airport? And do i need to collect my luggage and take on to my next flight which is to London? I'm a Philippine passport holder and my first time to transit to these places. Your reply will be very much appreciated. Thank you so much. :)

If you purchased one ticket you will preclear us immigration in Vancouver so you will not have to claim your bags in Dallas. Yes, you need a transit visa.
