Hi all, UK Citizen travelling to Brazil, via Dallas Airport. Both connecting flights with AA and are 2 hours apart. I would be grateful if someone could answer the following questions: do I have enough time (this will be around xmas), do i need to check back in and check back out, and will be bags be transferred or do I have to pick them up. Thanks in advance!

You will arrive in Terminal D, go through us immigration then you should be able to proceed direct to customs as you are on an international to international itinerary. Then you will go through security and to your departure gate, also in terminal d.

Thanks Zap, very helpful :) so u think its enough time, and I dont need to collect bags...

I'm travelling from San Antonio to Orlando via Dallas. Arriving in Dallas at 1815 and flying to Orlando at 1900. Is this enough time please? Both AA flights.

That depends on your transfer time needed. At DFW, American Airlines uses Terminals A, C & D, while American Eagle uses Terminals B & D with corresponding gates. Your ticket should indicate terminal (TA, TC, etc.) I suggest you open www.ifly.com/dfw, click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICKLINKS (top left) & scroll down to the detailed text for transfer options.

I will travel from Seoul Korea to Peru by AA flights and have transferring in DFW. I only have 1hr and 30 mints to transfer. Will I have enough time ?

Yes, that should be enough time but just barely. You should not have to claim your bags when going through customs because you are on an International to International itinerary, so that will save some time. Both of your flights will be in Terminal D.

Arrive from lexington blue grass on a connecting flight from Dallas to London heathrow. . I arrive in Dallas at1600 terminal b and leave at 1650 from terminal d. How do I get between terminals and how long will it take. BA have assured me I have plenty of time ??!! Many thanks

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. You take the Skylink train which runs inside security. It should take 10-15 minutes to get between gates.

I am traveling from Chicago to Dallas Fort Worth (American Airlines) to connect with a flight to Sydney (Qantas) 1 hour 15 minutes later. Is this enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time. You can get to Terminal D where you will depart by the SkyLink train which runs inside security.

Will there be enough time to pass immigration?

You do not go through US Immigration when leaving the US. You will go through Australian Immigration when you get to Australia.

Thanks a lot for your help Zap

My parents will fly from PVG to DFW via flight AA 128 on Nov, 10, then connect the flight AA 2396 to ATL after 2 hours 30 minutes. Do they have to claim baggage even though two flights operated by same air company (AA)? The flights where booked together. Thank you!

Yes, they will arrive in Terminal D go through US Immigration, claim their bags, go through US Customs, then re-check their bags at the transfer desk, then they will go through security and to their departure gate. Once they are through security the Skylink train connects all terminals inside security.

AA138 landing DFW at 1455 and departing again on AA980 at 1710. Do I need to run? Do the ITI through-check of bags work as advertised? What are the steps to go through for ITI connection at this airport? I ask because I haven't done any transit in US airport before. Thanks!

you should have enough time. Most of the way ITI bags work from all reports. You will arrive in DFW, go through US Immigration, proceed straight to US Customs, and then proceed up to the security checkpoint. Both of your flights will be in Terminal D.

Thanks! That's reassuring. It means I don't need to pick up bags at DFW, right? The worst nightmare for me would be me flying into Peru with the bag waiting to be collected on the carousel at DFW...

Yes, that's the policy. However, you do have a fair amount of spare time for your connection, so if you're really worried, you may want to check the baggage claim to make sure your bag wasn't accidentally put there.

The baggage claim in that case is on the airside? For airports in Europe or Australia the baggage claim is always after immigration and one must exit to landslide afterwards and no backtracking is allowed Thanks again!

The baggage claim is in between Immigration and Customs. I'm saying since you have some extra time, you could wait there to see if your bag comes out, before proceeding to Customs.

I arrive in terminal C at 9:15 and depart at 9:45 terminal D... Will that be enough time?

Yes, it's possible, the SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security. However, it leaves virtually no time to spare in case of delays.

Coming from BJX Mexico on to JAX Florida is 1hr 25mins enough time to go through customs & connect to JAX flight ?

It is 5 minutes below the minimum connection time for such a connection but you will probably be OK.
