We were looking at a flight from YVR to DFW and departure to SJO we will only have 55 minutes to get to the SJO flight Not sure what Terminals these arrive and depart Will our bags make it to next flight?

Will there be enough time between flight

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security. You have enough time.

I'm looking to fly from PEK arriving in DFW at 4:50pm and my connecting flight leaves for YYZ at 6:25pm. According to AA website, they offer this as an option, but I'm wondering if the amount of time is too short to get through customs, immigration, security, etc? Many thanks.

That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

Hi, I am leaving Las Vegas at 06:30am and arriving at DFW for 11:15am. My connecting flight to Cancun is at 11:55am which gives me a 40minute connection. I fly into terminal D and have never been to DFW before I was wondering if this is enough time or if I should ask my travel agent to put me on a later flight? I haven't been given the terminal of where my connection leaves from yet as we don't go until May. Please advise would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry we leave from terminal D not sure which terminal we arrive at though.

You will arrive in Terminal A or C. That is a pretty risky connection. It's not impossible, but leaves no time to spare. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

Thank you. I know it's pretty short. I know it's hard to say but would they put me on the next flight if I do miss it or is it better to try get a later flight? Thank you

They would put you on a later flight if you miss it, but there might not be one or it might not have any open seats.

Good Evening! Is 43 minutes enough time to transfer from a plane out of Denver to a plane bound for Santiago, Chile? It would be 7:32 pm to 8:15 pm on April 3rd. Thank you, Misty

It's enough time if the flight from Denver is on-time but leaves no time to spare. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

Thanks for the tip. I contacted American Airlines and they said that it was not a legal connection and they wouldn't sell it. It was their website that offered it!

  • Separate Bookings

I am traveling under 2 separate bookings. I will arrive at DFW at 1:00pm via Qantas from Sydney. I then have a separate booking flying American to ATL at 4:50pm. I am not concerned about the time but rather how move my luggage since the bookings are not tied together. It appears I will arrive in terminal D and then depart from terminal C. Where may I check my luggage for the domestic flight on American? Must I take the luggage to terminal C or is there a place in terminal D where I may check in for my domestic flight?

American has a check in desk in Terminal D that I believe you can use.

  • enough connection time at DFW arriving from CUN

arriving at DFW from Cancun at 6:49 P.M. with 2 small kids, connection flight at 8:25 is that enough time to make it through customs, immigration etc.

Considering the evening arrival, that should be barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

    Thank you very much!!!

  • Taking Skylink

I am a bit confused about Skylink. I will arrive DFW terminal A with AA domestic flight. Is it possible to take Skylink and go to Terminal D and exit from there? I may have one check in bag. I need to go to the Grand Hyatt hotel. And seems like taking skyline is easier than taking a Terminal link?

Since you have a checked bag you will have to collect it in A and then take the shuttle or walk to your hotel, since the Skylink runs inside security and you won't be able to get through security after you claim your bag.

Thank you very much!!! (Sorry I post in a wrong place before)

I arrive to DallasDFW from Miami at 9:23 AM flying American Airlines and have t connect to a flight of AA to Narita Tokyo at 10:50 AM is there enough time? do I have to recheck my luggage ? go through Immigration and security … ? Also do I have to change terminal

All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security. You don't have to do anything with your bags or go through security. There is no US Immigration when leaving the US.

I will arrive from Narita with AA on the 2 march at 3;05 PM and have to make a connection to Bogota with AA at 5:39 PM, with the current situation is it nought time to clear immigration , recheck luggage and pass security again to catch the next flight ? Thank you

There is no "current situation". Yes, that is enough time. Since it's an International to International connection all on AA, you shouldn't have to claim and re-check your bags.

Glad to know things are normal, thank you for the prompt answer !

  • Transfer time DFW
    Feb 21, 2017

We are travelling to DFW from London Heathrow and connecting to a flight to Jackson Hole - all American Airlines. Our original transfer time was 3 hours but AA have now changed the time of our outgoing flight leaving us only 1hour and 40 minutes for the transfer. We have been assured that is enough time (by the airline) - do you agree? Do we have to pick up luggage in DFW or will it go straight through to JH? Many thanks

It's enough time but it's certainly a bit more risky. You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and then take the Skylink train to your departure terminal.

    Thank you very much

I have Qantas tickets booked from Sydney to fort Myers via Dallas. Dallas to fort Myers leg codeshare with AA with 90 mins transit time. Is 90 mins enough? Do I need to collect checked bags to clear immigration? I'm traveling with my 84 years old mother.

Yes you will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and then take the Skylink train to your departure terminal. It is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

My flight will land at DFW 3:05 pm and will fly out to GUA at 4:50 pm, is the connecting time OK? They should be at the same terminal D.

Where are you flying into DFW from?

From NRT to DFW land 3:05 pm , then DFW to GUA 4:50 pm American Airline for both flights

It's barely enough time. You will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security.

  • SFO to DFW and DFW to Amterdam 1 hour enough
    Feb 14, 2017

I am Indian passport holder traveling from SFO to DFW airport by AA. I have a connecting flight by AA to Amsterdam in 1 hour. Will 1 hr be enough Do I need to checkin baggage again ? Also if the incoming flight is late do AA arrange next available flights? Thanks in Advance!

If both flights are on the same reservation then you don't have to do anything with your bags in DFW on your way to Amsterdam. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security. You have enough time.

Yes both flights are on same reservation and of american airlines.

I am flying in from eze to dfw and am booking a flight out of DFW on american or united. Will I have enough time if I land at 5am to take a 6am flight? How long does it take to go through customs?

No, that is absolutely not enough time. if you fly out on American you need 2-2.5 hours and if you fly out on United you need at least 3 hours.

  • ST Louis to Hong Kong

I am looking at STL to HKG with connection at DFW. One of the proposed routes on AA site is AA1442 (STL 0752-DFW 0956) and AA125 (DFW 1040 - HKG 1610 +1). There is only 44 mins connection which is a tad scary. I take that it's a legitimate combination but is it possible to make?

It is possible, but as you suspect, it leaves no time to spare for anything to go wrong.

Thanks a lot. There is only one DFW-HKG flight everyday and I definitely wouldn't want to risk it.
