Hi, my wife and 2 small kids are planning on travelling from DOHA to DFW ( Qatar Airways) and they would have a 1 hr 40 min connection in DFW to proceed to their final destination in YVR (Vancouver) via American Airlines. Do you think there would be enough time for them to make the transit in DFW? I need to decide on the ticket in that case. Thanks

Hello, I will arrive in DFW at 5:20 AM via American Airlines and I have a connecting flight to SFO at 7:30 AM via United Airlines. It that enough time? How should I proceed there?

Seeing that REC and DFW have no direct flights, I assume you are connecting at MIA or another domestic airport? If this is the case and your American and United airlines ticket were booked on the SAME reservation, then all you need to do is ride the skylink train to Terminal E, no need to leave security. If they are booked on DIFFERENT reservations, you need to exit the secured area and claim any checked luggage and ride the Terminal Link Bus to Terminal E where you will check in with United. Please clarify your routing out of REC

There is no nonstop AA flight from Recife to DFW. Are you connecting somewhere else first. 2 hours is barely enough time to make an international to domestic connection through two different terminals on two different tickets. If you are on an International arrival into DFW, you will arrive in Terminal D where you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags and go through US Customs, then you will have to take a shuttle bus to Terminal E and re-check your bags with United and go through security.

Yes. I have a previous connection at GRU. So, I guess that I will have to run.

Btw, I bought the trip as a single ticket trough Priceline. I have a single e-ticket number.

OK, in that case if your bags are checked through to SFO you can re-check them at the re-check desk in Terminal D after customs and if you have your United boarding pass you can go through security in Terminal D and then take the Skylink train to Terminal E, which is much faster than taking the shuttle bus.

Hello. I'm flying from London to Puerto Vallarta via a connection in Dallas. Both flights are American Airlines. I have 2.5 hours time to take the flight from the same terminal to which we arrive. Is it enough time? And will our baggage go straight through?

Yes, that should be enough time. Since you are on an International to International connection you should not have to claim your bags but you will have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security.

  • ELP-DFW-LHR. Is 1 hour 10 minutes in DFW enough?

Hi, I will be landing at DFW (from ELP) with AA at 14:35, and leaving to LHR from terminal D at 15:45 - giving me only 1 hour 10minutes. I will travel with ESTA, I have a checked baggage an I am EU citizen. Is that enough time to do everything I need to? Thank you!

There is no US Customs when exiting the US. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security. You have enough time.

My daughter is flying from Sydney on Quantas (7308) to BWI on American 2361. She has been told she must pick her bags in a transfer location... where is that and does she need to check in again?

You don't have to ask the same question twice.

Please collect your Check-in Luggage's and come out, Within few way you will find a RECHECK section where there will be some guys collect the check luggage's (Baggages). They will transfer it to the next airlines so that you can collect it in the final destination without worries

I'm flying from Hamburg, Germany, through London Heathrow, layover in DFW then on to Albuquerque. I have 2h20m to get to my flight to ABQ. Is that enough time? I'm a german citizen so would need to go through immigration.

Yes, that should be enough time. In DFW you will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and take the Skylink train to your departure gate, which will likely be in a different terminal.

coming from Calgary to DFW with 55 minute layover to next connection. Is this enough time to go through customs

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all terminals inside security. You should have enough time.

Hi, I'm flying from London into Dallas and then onto Wichita. I have a 1 hour 35 minute connection time at Dallas, I'm worried that this is not enough time! All my flights were booked together through one airline although the airlines are different, code share I think! What will I have to do in that connection time? Is there a buffer on the arrival time? Will it land earlier than the stated time? Thanks in advance

You will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the Skylink train to your departure terminal and gate. You barely have enough time if everything goes smoothly, but AA does have other flights to Wichita if you miss your connection.

I have a flight landing in Dallas from San Francisco at 4:15 (the flight time was just changed from 2:30 by the airline) It's landing in Terminal E, I have a connecting flight with British Airways to London Heathrow at 6:05 which now gives me only 1 hour and 50 minutes to collect a bag, get to Terminal D re check my bag, get through customs etc. Is this going to be enough time?

There is no US Customs when exiting the US. However, you have to take a shuttle bus outside security between terminals. You barely have enough time if your flight from SFO is on-time, your bags come out quickly, and you get lucky with the shuttle. I really wouldn't have booked this.

Actually, now that I read again that it was a schedule change, call the first airline and ask for a refund or an earlier flight, you should be granted it because of the long involuntary schedule change. If you get a refund then book an earlier flight SFO-DFW.

    Thanks, will do

Hello, I am travelling by Emirates Flight EK0221 to Dallas on 13th Feb 2016. I will be landing in terminal D at DFW at 9.05am Local Time. My next connection Flight on a different ticket, is from Terminal E from DFW by Delta Airlines to Minneapolis at 12.00PM. So, I have close to 3 hours to clear my Immigration, Customs, Collect my Baggage and Move to Terminal E, get the Boarding pass for my Delta Flight, Check-in the baggage and clear the Checking and go to the Boarding Gate. Can someone guide me, the following: a) Do you think, that 3 Hours would be sufficient for catching the Delta Flight? b) How to move from terminal D to terminal E at DFW? c) Is there anything else, which I should come prepared, other tha a valid USA Entry Visa?

3 hours should be enough time. There is a shuttle bus that connects the terminals outside security.

  • Transferring to Etihad Flight at DFW

I have a flight on Etihad at DFW. My first flight has an Etihad flight number but is operated by AA and arrives in Terminal B. At DFW I'm not sure if I can get all my boarding passes on my first lag, but I am assuming I have to recheck in DFW with Etihad. If I do have to check in again, can I do it without exiting from the secured area, or do I have to exit and check in outside the secured area?

If all tickets are on the same reservation you will get all your boarding passes at your origin and your bags will be checked through to Etihad. All you should have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

    Many thanks :)

We are spanish travellers flying from madrid to dallas and from there to LA. We have a 1 hour and a half connection time. its our first time going to usa. will we have enough time? also what do we have to do when we arrive to dallas?

That is just enough time if your flight from Madrid is on-time. You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk immediately after, then go through security and to your departure gate. Your departure gate may be in Terminal A or C. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security.

Hi - I will be arriving DFW on AA from Denver, connecting to AA flight to Costa Rica. There's only a 45 minute connection time. Will this be enough time? I understand I won't clear customs until I arrive at LIB. Thanks!

Yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time. Also the code for Liberia is LIR, "LIB" is Limbunya, Australia..

    Thank you!

Hello, I am taking the same flight last week. Could you please confirm if all was smooth with your connexion. As per my research, we have to go from terminal A to D with the speed train. Thank You and have a nice stay un Costa Rica!

I ment we have to make this connexion next week. Thank You!

We ended up changing our flights so I won't be able to comment on the DFW connection. I hope it goes well for you!

Hi! On friday 29/1im flying from cph - London via DFW to El Salvador. With AA and BA. Does My luggage go straight to el Salvador or do i have to recheck in the luggage at DFW? We only have 1,5h. Im on the ESTA. Thanks

Since you're on an International to International connection your baggage should go straight through but you will have to confirm that with the agents in Dallas. You will still go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security.

I am flying from Boston to Panama on Friday (02-13-16) with a connection in DFW. My layover is 52 minutes. What is the process of going to Panama? How about coming back to the US from Panama? I'm flying American both ways, if that makes a difference.
