flying PVR - DFW - LGA, arriving DFW at 3:05; leaving DFW at 5:30 - what is the procedure relative to customs, baggage and security - and is almost 2.5 hours enough time to accomplish it

You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate via the Skylink train. You should have enough time.

I'm traveling from sfo to Toronto thru a connection DFW. Both American airline flights. Is 55 min enough to make the connection?

Yes, that is enough time. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

That is, if your flight arrives from SFO on time

  • Is 1 hour 10 mins enough time to make a domestic connection

Is it possible to make a connection flight at DFW in 1 hour 10 mins if you have to change terminals. Both flights are domestic. ATL to DFW to ASE. There's only one flight to Aspen from DFW each day and I'm concerned about there being enough time to change terminals to make the connection flight.

That's plenty of time. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

Hi I am traveling to Cancun from the Dallas Airport. We are flying in from Tulsa, OK. We have an hour layover in Dallas. We are not checking any bags, just carry ons. Will I be able to make it from one flight to other in an hour with security? I am a first time flyer so I am really nervous!!

No, an hour is not long enough for an International to domestic connection, even without checked bags. You need to contact American or your travel agent and be rebooked.

We are travelling from Sydney to Orlando via Dallas. Our connection time is now just 50mins as AA have re-scheduled their flight. Two questions: 1. Will we have to claim luggage and then go through customs and immigration or just go through customs and immigration? 2. Is 50mins enough time to connect to AA flight to Orlando? Thanks!

Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, and go through security and to your departure gate. No, 50 minutes is not a legal international to domestic connection. You need to contact Qantas, American or your travel agent and be rebooked.

Is 1hour sufficient to make American eagle connection to Montrose CO from American flight from Philadelphia? Montrose flight is the only one that day

Yes, that is enough time as long as the flight from PHL is on-time. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

Hi, I am flying from IAH to DFW to SYD. My connection in DFW is only 1 hr, 20 min. Since I will have already checked my bags and gone through security at IAH will I need to do that again at DFW?

No, all you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security. You have enough time.

Hi! I am traveling from Paris CDG to DFW tomorrow with a connecting flight to Jackson, MS. My flight from CDG lands at gate D30 at 3:05 pm, and I have to get to gate B1 for a flight leaving at 4:50 pm. Will I have to go through customs, retrieve and recheck my bags, and connect to my other flight in that amount of time? If so, is there enough time to realistically accomplish this?

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You do not reasonably have enough time. There is another flight to Jackson at 6:30 and another at 10:00 (also JXN is Jackson, Michigan, Jackson, Mississippi is JAN).

Thanks for the response. I wasn't aware of the international to domestic turnover process until just now. Is there no way my bags will be sent straight through to Jackson since I purchased the tickets at he same time?

No, you have to claim your bags to go through US Customs.

Im kind of confused, I have a connection flight in Dallas, I arrive in Terminal B and next flight is in terminal D, am I suppose to take skylink or terminal link?

The name of the train at DFW is Skylink. The train in Houston used to be called Terminalink but is now called Skyway.

My daughter is arriving at 3pm on an American flight from Madrid, terminal D. Her connecting flight is at 5:15 on Delta, terminal E. She will have to recheck her bags at the Delta ticket counter. Is there enough time to go through customs, and recheck her bags at another airline and then make the flight?

No, I don't think that's realistically enough time, especially considering how long the security lines at DFW have been recently and the fact that she will have to take an infrequently running shuttle bus from Terminal D to E to re-check her bags.

I am flying into DFW on American then connecting to an Alaskan Airlines flight to SEA will I have to go through security again before boarding Alaskan Airlines?

If your AA flight is domestic and both tickets are on the same reservation then no, you will not have to go through security. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

as you can see, I have a connection flight from DFW to LAW coming from FRA. Do I need to get my luggage in DFW and re-check ?

Yes, in DFW you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate.

    thank you :-))

  • Connecting from International with Dog

We are connecting from a Korean Air flight in term D to one of the domestic AA flights with a dog. As I understand I will have to exit security to pay the carryon fee for the dog at an AA ticket counter then re-enter, etc. Should 3 hrs 35 min be enough to do that?

That should be barely enough time if everything goes smoothly. Security at DFW is a mess right now.
