Hi, I am arriving from SYD to DFW at 1335 (terminal D). I need to check out and back in for a separate flight to DCA, which is at 1507 (I think terminal C). Is this enough time? Thank you

Opps, should add that the first flight is on Qantas, second flight is on AA.

If both tickets were purchased on the same reservation then your bags will be tagged through to DCA and you can re-check them at the re-check desk right after clearing customs. Otherwise you can check them at the AA check-in desk in Terminal D, then go through security and take the skylink to your departure terminal (could be A or C).

Also, it's important to note that you barely have enough time for this connection if everything goes perfectly.

My son will be flying from BWI on American Airline to DFW and then traveling on Quantas to Sydney. He has 55 minutes between flights. Is that enough time? He is an anxious traveler.

Yes, that is enough time as long as the flight from BWI is on-time. All he has to do is go from his arrival gate to his departure gate. The Skylink train connects all terminals and gates inside security.

Hello, I'll travel from GDL to NRT, having a stop of 2 hours in DFW, would that time be enough to pass US immigration ? Thanks !

Yes, that should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Transit time at DFW for International flight (HK - DFW - MXN)

Hi, I will travel to Mexico City through Dallas. My flight will arrive at DFW at 1625, and connecting flight to Mexico (MXN) will depart on 1845. I hold a US VISA and know that I need to go through US Immigration, Customs, re-check-in, and go through security. It is my first time to transit at DFW and am not sure if time is enough. Tks.

The code for Mexico City is MEX, not "MXN". Yes, you should have just enough time. Since you are on an International to International connection you should not have to claim and re-check your bags in DFW. Both flights will be in Terminal D.

I am traveling from Chicago to DFW then on to Sydney. I arrive in Dallas 50 prior to the Sydney departure. Is this enough time? Do I need to go through security, customs or immigration?

There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US and the skylink train connects all gates in DFW inside security. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if your flight from Chicago is on-time.

Hello, This is my first time flying and I'm a little confused so any help will be appreciated. I'll be arriving at DFW at 4:05 PM from DCA. Then I need to get on my flight to SAL that departs at 4:55 PM. I'll have two bags checked in at DCA. Can someone please explain the process that I should follow once I land at DFW? Do I have enough time to make the transfer? Thank you for the help.

I should have mentioned that arrive at Gate A19 and depart at Gate D37.

All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. the Skylink train connects all terminals and gates inside security. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. You have enough time.

  • LEAVING MEXICO TRANSITING MIAMI

Hi, I am leaving Mexico and arriving into Miami on AA2246 at 5:58pm. My onward travel is at 8:20pm on QR778 to Doha. Since I am leaving Mexico and transiting in Miami, Do I need to go through customs/immigration, claim baggage and recheck-in with Qatar Airways ? If I am leaving US, I know this is not required but since I am leaving Mexico and transiting through US, therefore the concern.

Why did you ask this on the DFW airport forum? However, yes, you will have to do all of that stuff in Miami.

My apologies for the wrong forum and thanks for the reply

Hi: We fly into DFW at 11:15 AM and have the next American Airlines connecting flight to Cancun at 12:05 PM. Is this enough time to catch the flight and for checked luggage to make it to Cancun? Please advise.

As long as your first flight is domestic, yes, that is enough time. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

  • Terminal connection from International

Hi, I am holding US visa. I am arriving on Qatar Airways to DFW (Terminal D) at 03:55pm and my onward travel is at 06:45pm on American Airlines (Terminal D) to Mexico. Do I need to go through customs/immigration, claim baggage and recheck-in with American Airlines ? Since the arrival and departure is in the same terminal do I need to take a skylilnk train or is it walkable ?

You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security. You will not have to use the skylink train since everything will be in Terminal D.

Flying from Tampa to Calgary with layover at Dallas FW. They changed our flight and layover went from 3 hours to an hour 10 minutes. What is the probability that we will make connection coming from Tampa?

This is still a fairly easy connection. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. the Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

I fly from Vegas to Dallas at 7am on AA2082, then transfer on to AA2433 at 12.55 to Orlando, will we arrive and depart in same terminal, do we have to reclaim our bags? It doesn't seem we have much time, any comments would be appreciated thanks

No, you don't have to do anything with your bags. You have plenty of time.

I am planing to buy a British airway ticket (run by American airline) from London to New Orlean connecting in Dallas. Do I need to cliam the bags & re check the bags in at DFW? Is 2 hours enough to catch the flight to New Orlean? Thanks.

Yes, in DFW you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the skylink train to your departure terminal.

  • Flight From Peru, Transfer to Orlando
    Apr 21, 2016

I am travelling from Lima-Peru to Dallas (DFW), American Airlines, then onto Orlando, American Airlines,. I arrive in Dallas 7.30am, in Terminal D, then flight to Orlando is 9.05 am, I read the posts so I know that I have to go through US Immigration (1), claim my bags(2), go through US Customs(3), re-check my bags at the re-check desk (4), now I am wondering if all these four steps are inside the security area. Am I right? Then I go to my departure gate in Terminal A or C without passing security, because I always was inside security area, am I right? Thanks in advance

No, you are incorrect. When you clear customs and re-check your bag you will be outside security. You need to go back through security in Terminal D and then take the Skylink train to your departure terminal. You have barely enough time for your connection if everything goes perfectly.
