Hey all, I got a AA flight landing in DFW 3/11 at 8:15pm and an Qantas flight leaving DFW at 9:10pm. Everything I've read says 50 minutes minimum, I got 55 if all goes well. Just wondering if I should be worried. thanks

That should be plenty of time. The SkyLink train can get you between any two gates in under 10 minutes.

Hi, We are flying out of cancun at 6am and arriving at dfw at 9am. Our connection to Las Vegas is at 10:35am. I was wondering if this is enough time to transit? We are traveling on a Tuesday and we have checked bags and also Australian passport holders. Thanks! Ria

That should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the SkyLink train to your departure terminal.

I am taking a flight from Fort Wayne to Austin with a connecting flight in Dallas. Only a 46 minute layover. I need help getting to the tram and next gate. I don't think I can walk that fast to make the flight. What do I do?

Call American and request wheelchair service.

If I land on time at 10:57 am (JFK to DFW on AA), will I have enough time to make a connecting flight to BZE departing on AA at 11:54 am?

Yes, that should be plenty of time if the first flight is on-time. You just have to take the SkyLink train from your arrival terminal to Terminal D where your BZE flight will depart. The Skylink runs inside security.

    Thank you so much!

I am flyig in from Milwaukee to Dallas and then to Tuscon. We arrive @ Dallas 8:55 and flight to Tuscon leaves @ 9:45. Will we have enough time to make the transfer. Also when we get off the plane is there assistance there if needed. I am traveling with my 89 yr old Mom. She still gets around good but I am just wondering about this.

Yes, that is enough time. The SkyTrain connects all terminals inside security. I don't know what type of assistance you're asking about.

Hi, I am arriving in Dallas on a Qantas flight on Sunday 8th of March at 1:45pm from Sydney. I have a connecting flight to MKE 90 minutes latter. Is this possible? What are the crowds like on Sunday afternoons in March. First time visitor. Thank you

It's possible but it's certainly pushing it. People have reported that the immigration lines at DFW are getting pretty bad. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security then take the skylink train to your departure terminal.

  • Cozumel to Denver

We are looking at a flight on AA from Cozumel on May 30th that arrives in DFW at 3:37 pm with a connecting flight to Denver leaving at 5:05pm. Is that possible or should we book the later flight that doesn't leave for Denver until 8:25 pm?

Below 90 minutes might be possible, but reports lately are that DFW immigration has gotten pretty crowded and you will be arriving at a crowded part of the day. I would probably book the later flight even though it means a long layover in Denver.

  • Is a 50 minute layover enough for CMH-DFW-Doha

Due to a change of schedule by AA as well as Qatar Airways, our itinerary has a stopover of only 50 minutes at DFW. Arrival 5:50pm by AA (terminal A?) from CMH and departure at 6:40 pm by Qatar Airwways (Terminal D). Doea this give us enough time to catch the Qatar Airways flight assuming the first flight is on time? Tahnks for your advice..

That is still enough time but it depends on your columbus flight being on-time. the SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security.

Thanks. I made the reservations on one travel.com. I called Qatar Airways and was told that we were allowed to change the first leg to an earlier flight, but one travel.com refuses to do it. They gladly offered to cancel my reservations with a hefty penalty, even though I tried to explain to them that the airline issuing the ticket does not have any problem.

If I fly in From London on BA, then out again to Puerto Vallarta on AA, do I need to clear US Customs & Immigration? Thanks.

Yes, you will need to go through US Immigration and Customs and security but you should not have to claim your bags as you are on an International to International connection, but please confirm with the agents in London and DFW.

Hi, I'm flying from London Heathrow to Memphis with a 70mins layover in Dallas. Will this be enough time to clear immigration at DFW to catch the flight to Memphis? Thanks

No, that is not enough time. The minimum time for such a connection is 90 minutes and the recommended time is 2 hours. Contact your travel agent or airline to book an earlier flight to Dallas or later flight to Memphis.

Hello, I am flying to Montreal from San Diego with a 1h15 layover in Dallas. I am canadian. I will only have a carry-on but I am concerned about going through security, customs, etc. Will I have enough time to make it?

You will not have to go through customs or security in Dallas. There is no US Customs when leaving the US and you will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs when you get to Montreal. All terminals at DFW are connected inside security by the SkyLink train. You have enough time.

No, you will not have to claim your baggage. That should be enough time if your flight from Orlando is on-time.

  • Transit term. B to D

I am traveling on an American Eagle flight from Columbia, South Carolina home to Australia via Dallas. There is no customs/immigration service at the airport in Columbia and I will need to clear customs in Dallas so that my departure from the US is noted. I have a 1 hour 45 min. layover. I know how easy it is to get around using the skytrain, but if I have to exit terminal B and re enter into terminal D via US customs and then security, I don't think I will have enough time. I am an older lady traveling alone. My luggage will be checked through to Sydney in Australia... Help.

There is no US Customs upon exit from the US. You just need to go from your arrival gate in Terminal B to Terminal D via the SkyTrain. The SkyTrain runs inside security. You have plenty of time.

Overseas visitors DO have to clear customs/immigration before leaving the US to prove they have actually left.... If you don't, entry to the US in the future will be difficult and possibly prohibited, as you will be noted as overstaying the allowed time limit. I have traveled extensively to and through the US over the years, but have always started my journey home to Australia through an airport with immigration services on site.

There is no immigration inspection. It is all done electronically. You used to hand in a form to the gate agent before boarding the flight, but they don't do that anymore. They will note your departure when you board your flight to Australia in Dallas. You will not have to leave the secure area to find some sort of immigration station because there is no such thing. Here is official word from the US Govt stating that there is no immigration exit inspection from the US and that the I94 form has been phased out - http://www.immihelp.com/travel/departing-united-states.html

    Thank you.

  • Do i have to recheck my baggage

I am flying delta and arriving from LGA to DFW and have a connection to atlanta after 2 and half hours with delta itself. Do i need to re check my baggage?

If you purchased your tickets together your bags will be checked through to Atlanta and you won't have to claim them in Dallas. If you purchased two separate tickets you will have to claim them.
