I will be arriving from international travel via British Airways at 3 pm. I am planning on then taking Delta or Alaska to PDX whose flight would depart at 430pm. Will I need to go through customs? Is an hour enough to go through customs to get on another airline to travel?
Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags and go through US Customs. You will then need to take a shuttle to Terminal E if you want to fly Delta or Alaska. 90 minutes is NOT enough time to do all that. You need at least 3 hours.
Thank you very much!
Hi, I'm booking AA1259 on Feb 15th arriving DFW at 9:45am, connecting at 10:35am AA0127 to PVG. Both should be at Terminal D according to Flightaware. Is this a safe connection to make? Since there's often delays in Toronto due to weather.
Yes, that is enough time. You may not arrive in Terminal D. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I am traveling through DFW from Mexico City to Vancouver. I would like to get duty free alcohol in Mexico and carry it on to continue to Vancouver but I am wondering if I will have to re-clear security in DFW? I'm not checking a bag (and couldn't access it anyway in DFW as this airport transfers international bags without the need to pick them up). Thanks!
Well experience taught me the answer and here it is for anyone else. You must request special tamper proof packaging at the duty free in Mexico. It will then be flagged when you go through security at DFW and they will take a look (and open the bag) but they did clear it fine.
Hi I will be arriving to Dallas Airport from Australia (with Australian passport) and flying out with AA to Costa Rica (San Jose). My light (not booked yet) shows only 1h50 in between the arrival and departure. Is this enough? thanks
Most US airports, that would be a no. But DFW is very efficient on international transfers and I've done so with as little as 70 minutes. You will have to clear US immigration but not US customs (your bag should go directly through assuming both legs are on the same ticket). You should check arriving and departing terminals to see how far you'll have to travel but the train between terminals is very fast anyway.
I am an Indian Passport holder, contemplating booking a flight with AA returning from Austin to Hong Kong with a 2.5 hour layover in Dallas. Is that enough time? All flights are with AA
Yes, that is plenty of time. All you have to do in DFW on your way to Hong Kong is take the Skylink train from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
We are flying into Dallas and then on to Fort Lauderdale. Landing at Term D not sure what term we take off from. Will we have to clear customs / Immigration etc. Or will we be just transit passengers? As we only have 1hr and 25mins connection time.
Thanks for any help
Where are you flying into DFW from? That is fairly important.
We are flying in from London Heathrow
Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure terminal on the Skylink train. You have barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
I am travelling from Detroit to Dallas and i have one hour to go to terminal D and connect to Qatar Airways. Is this enough time? I may be connecting from terminal c to terminal d. Do i need to pass thru security check again or i can connect directly. no baggage only carry on. I appreciate your help.
You do not have to go through security again, you can just take the Skylink train to your departure gate in D.
I have a flight doing Montreal (Canada) to Dallas and Dallas to Tokyo (NRT), the connection is from 9h46 to 10h45 (59 minutes).

Is it enough? Both are with AA and I don't have a checked in luggage, only my carry on.

Thanks whoever can assist me.
That is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. All you have to do in Dallas is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all terminals and gates inside security. The Airport code for Montreal is YUL.
Thank you so much.
Hi All,

I have been ticketed (via QANTAS) to transit in DFW for 1hr 03 mins. Flying in from BWI going to SYD. Is this a reasonable time to make the SYD flight. It appears arriving into Terminal A, departing from Terminal D. All flights are codeshare QF. Thanks!
Your first flight is operated by American. Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all terminals and gates inside security.
We are arriving at DFW 9:54 am terminal C and have a connecting flight at 10:34 terminal A. Will we make it ? Where is the closest skylink
There are two skylink stations in every terminal. You won't know your exact gates until the day of your flight.
