If we depart from San Antonio Airport and go thru DFW to get to Cancun will we have to get and recheck our bags and go back thru security at DFW or will we just be able to go straight to the connecting flight?

No, you just go directly to your departure gate on the Skylink train.

I arrive in Dallas at 5:05 and depart to Pittsburgh at 6:30. Is this enough time to clear customs and make the flight?

That's below the minimum recommended international to domestic connection time at DFW. It's possible, but everything has to go perfectly.

travelling on sep 30 frm Santiago Chile to Toronto via Dallas LATAM OPERATED BY AMERICAN.- ETA Dallas 05:28 and departure at 07:10 ( APP 90 MINUTES ) .- Is it enough time .- How can I know terminal of arrival and departure .- Do I need to approach counter on arrival to DFW ? Tks for info

You will arrive in Terminal D and depart from Terminal A, C, or D. You will arrive, go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security. You don't have to claim your bags since you are on an an International to International connection all on AA. After clearing security you will take the Skylink train to your departure gate.

tks you mention US immigration Customs and Security .- when and how do I get departure gate to Toronto .- Do I have to go to AA counter at DFW to check this ?

You will be checked in for both flights in Santiago. In Dallas you will be directed to US Immigration and customs and once you clear customs you just follow signs to your departure gate. If your flight to Toronto does not depart from Terminal D you will go through security in D and then take the Skylink train to your departure gate.

tks for info .- Will 90 minutes be enough for Customs clearence and make it to connecting flight Toronto ?

sorry I insist but my last inquire was not answered .- Will 90 minutes be enough from arrival to departure customs immigration included ?

My son is traveling from Lima to Atlanta with stop at Dallas, we know he needs to go thru customs but he want to know if he needs to collect his bags in Dallas or it will need to be in Atlanta.

In DFW he will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim his bags, go through US Customs, re-check his bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the skylink train to his departure gate.

We are flying in to DFW on AA from Dayton to B43 at 8:44pm and have a connecting flight at 9:25pm at C33. Is there a best route from B43 to C33? Do you think we will have enough time? Thanks!

Take the skylink train. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • London to Cancun over DFW

We are flying from London to Cancun over Dallas with British Airways operated by AA. Our arrival scheduled at 17:00 and the connection AA to Cancun leave Dallas at 19:00. Is the two hours gap enough for us to catch the fly? Thanks

Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Even if we need to claim our luggages and go through the check in processes again? As I am not sure when AA is the operator and the flight-number is BA the luggages will be also directed to the connected fly. I spoke with AA and BA but all I have got were different answers. Thanks

Since you are on an AA to AA international to international connection over DFW you should not have to claim your bags and will be checked into both flights in London.

Hi, We are looking at flying via Dallas from London to Las vegas. The flight get in to Terminal D at Dallas and takes off again at Terminal 0. We have 2hr change over time. Would this be enough time and is it easy to change terminals? Where would we clear customs/security-here or in LV? If we have booked it as one through ticket would our baggage go straight through to LV? Thanks for help.

There is no Terminal 0. You will depart from Terminal A or C. Yes, in DFW you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security, and take the Skylink train to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

I've got a one hour twenty minute connection with American Airlines arriving from Bogota and flying onto LAX. Is that enough time to make the connection?

No, that's not very reasonable. AA has lots of flights from DFW to LAX that you can be rebooked on.

I am coming from San Diego airport on 10/10/2016 to Dallas airport (arrival time 9.05pm) and my connecting flight to London is at 10.05pm (only 1 hour for the connection). I hold a French passport. I need to know if i will have to go through security and custom control or not and if this is enough time for the transit.

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • Connection MBJ (Jamacia) DFW
    Aug 2, 2016

My wife and I are returning from Jamacia (MBJ) in a few months with an arrival time of 5:05pm and departing for Fargo (FAR) at 6:40pm. I know we will need to go through customs and recheck our bags (1 bag each). With only only an 1.5 hour layover is enough time? All flights had this short of a layover without an overnight stay. Also which terminals will we be traveling between and how quick can you get between them?

That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly. You will arrive in Terminal D and depart from Terminal B. Once you go through security the ride on the Skylink takes less than 10 minutes.

Hi, I am arriving on Qatar Airways to DFW (Terminal D) at 03:55pm and my onward travel is at 06:40pm on AA1393 on 21 Aug. Do I need to go through customs/immigration, claim baggage and recheck-in with American Airlines ? The booking does not specify the departure Terminal for AA1393. Do I need to take a skylink train ?

You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security, and to your departure gate in Terminal A or C on the skylink train.

We are flying into Dallas from New Orleans and only have 50mins to connect to Qantas (SYD) flight. This was booked through Flightcentre Australia. How far apart are domestic terminals to INT?? Is this enough time?? Thanks

You will arrive in Terminal A or C and depart from Terminal D. All you have to do is take the Skylink train from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if your flight from New Orleans is on-time.

  • Connection time

I'm making air arrangements through a vacation tour company. They are trying to sell me a flight from Albuquerque to DFW that connects to a flight to Heathrow. The problem is that the connection time is 42 minutes. I believe that's way too short given that I arrive in Terminal B and depart from Terminal D. Am I right?

It's not impossible. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security. However, it leaves no time to spare if the flight from Albuquerque is delayed.
