  • Will I have time to connect?

I arrive via Mesa Airlines/American Eagle from Grand Junction, CO at 1:49 p and have a connection flight leaving at 2:35 p. It says I have to change terminals but doesn't say what terminals I arrive at and connect through. Final destination is Detroit Metro Airport. Anyone know if this is adequate time to safely get between terminals?

You will arrive in Terminal B and depart from terminal A or C. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security. You have just enough time if your flight from Grand Junction is on-time.

Looking at purchasing a tkt flying from LHR to DFW with a domestic connecting flight. Arrive from LHR into DFW at 3:55pm British Airways flight. Connect to a AA domestic flight departing at 5:35pm. Is this too close to clear customs, drop off luggage at AA(how far from BA to AA), and change terminals?? Thanks

If it's on two separate reservations it's a little difficult even though you can recheck your bags in the Terminal you arrive (terminal D). If it's on the same reservation it's possible but difficult.

It is in the same reservation(award travel). My problem is that there is only one flight daily to my connection city that leaves at 5:35pm. Other option is to fly from Rome to Paris the day before(stay overnight) and fly AA CDG to DFW arriving at 3:00pm connecting to the same 5:35pm AA flight - 2 1/2 hrs for customs, luggage, etc...Thanks

    Where are you flying to?

    EGE

Yes, that is a difficult place to get to on AA.

I'm coming into DFW from SYD, Oz and the flight is delayed now, giving me less than two hours to make my connecting flight to NYC. Is this feasible? Thank you!

    Yes, that is still feasible

Arrving DFW at 9:20 pm from GRR on AA on Aiug. 12. Departure at 10:15 pm on Quantas to Sydney which is in another terminal. Do I have enough time to make that flight?

Yes, that is enough time. If everything is on the same reservation all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

We are considering a return flight from Puerto Vallarta to Madison, WI with a stop in Dallas-Fort Worth first. Is a layover of 1 hour 40 min (at 6:50pm on a Tues) enough time to get through customs w/bags and rechecked in for the connecting flight? Thank you!

It's technically legal, but in all practicality very difficult.

  • YVR-Dallas-Fort Lauderdale, layover 1.5 hours for Canadians enough?

We are Canadians travelling from YVR to Fort Lauderdale with 1.5 hours layover in Dallas. Wondering if we have enough time if we have checked luggage for US entry customs and security check in Dallas airport before connecting to Fort L. Some website said we have to claim bags and go thru customs but some said YVR will pre-clear customs so we don't have to go thru customs again. Same for our return trip from Miami to Dallas to YVR, only 1.5 hours, do we have to go thru customs with our bags in Dallas?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security. You have enough time. On your return trip there is no US Customs when leaving the US and you will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. So again all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Hi, We have are arriving in Dallas from YVR and have 1 hour to get to our departing flight to San Jose Costa Rica (SJO). Is that enough time for us to make the transfer? What are the chances that our luggage will make it to that flight? Can our plane call the other plane to say we are coming if we arrive late? If our luggage doesn't make it, when would they send it to SJO? There will be 4 adults and 2 children.

No, you cannot call your plane. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in Dallas is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security. You should have enough time.

I'm going from CLT - DFW - SEA. It's all on the same reservation. So do I have to recheck my bags? Please tell me how multi city works.

No, you do not have to re-check your bag. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

I am travelling from Dubai on 10th July, landing at 09:40 at DFW. My flight to GDL Mexico (AA) is at 12:40 from the same terminal. Do I have enough time, if everything goes normal, to complete immigration, customs, re-check in and board on time?

Yes, that should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly. However, note that AA flights to GDL depart from Terminal B, not Terminal D because they are operated by American Eagle. However, you can still check in in Terminal D.

Thank you for the reply. AA ticket shows Terminal D. I will check this again.

Travelling with toddler and wonder if I will have to go through security again or will I be able to just go straight to my gate?

No, you don't have to go through security again. Just walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal B.

Hi, I'm scheduled to arrive with AA from Dulles at DFW Terminal C at 21:10 (QF4571) on July 3 and have to make the Qantas QF8 flight to Sydney, which is scheduled to depart Terminal D at 22:15 pm. I noticed that QF4571 was delayed tonight (July 2) and arrived at Terminal C at 21:30. If this delay occurs, can I still get from Terminal C to D and make the QF8 flight in time? My baggage will be checked through to Sydney.

Yes, that would be still enough time to get to Terminal D. The TerminaLink train connects all gates inside security and all you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Thanks! Do you mean the Skylink train? Or are they one and the same?

Yes, I mean the Skylink, sorry.

I have a 53min layover in DFW. Can I make it?

If both flights are domestic that is enough time. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

Hi, I'll be flying from Japan to DFW (Terminal D) to MEM (Terminal B) and my connection time for my next flight from DFW to MEM is 1 hour and 55 minutes. Do I have enough time? And is there sure I can get to another terminal by skyline?

You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the skylink to Terminal B. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Flights are SEA to DFW to EZE and back (EZE to DFW to SEA). I am a US citizen with US passport, TSA precheck enrolled but not Global Entry. Outbound layover is Jul 27 4:24 pm to 6:45 pm which seems fine to me. 1) Can you confirm this is reasonable? 2) If I have a checked bag,do I need to recheck it on my way through DFW to EZE? Return is 5:12 am to 7:00 am on Aug 16, a Tuesday, which seems quite tight. 3) Am I likely to make that connection? Thank you for your time!

Yes, the outbound is very reasonable - all you have to do in DFW on your way to Buenos Aires is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You don't have to do anything with your bags on your way to EZE. On the return you have just enough time. On the return in DFW you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. Precheck will help with the security part of that.
