I have a mexico visa travelling to cancun from india having indian passport connecting at DFW. Do i need to go through C and I ? I have layovertime of 1hr 15mins at DFW before catching DFW to cancun flight. Will my baggage and I have enough time to make it? all the tickets are booked in a single booking. please advise.

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration and Customs. You need a US Transit Visa. You also don't have adequate time for your transfer. You need a bare minimum of 90 minutes, with 2 hours preferrable.

  • Connetion time in DFW
    Mar 19, 2016
Hi, I have book an AA flight from Lima arriving in DFW @ 0722am, and need to catch a connecting AA flight to Vancouver (YXR) @ 0850am - please advise if there sufficient time for me to catch my connecting flight.

No, that is not enough time for an International to International connection in Miami. Also, there are no nonstop flights from Miami to Vancouver.

Sorry, I wasn't clear on the destination. I am catching a connecting flight from DFW to Vancouver Canada, not Miami. I have about 1 hour 20 mins from my arrival to catch this Vancouver flight - is this duration sufficient ?

No, 1 hr 20 minutes is not enough time for an International to International connection in DFW either.

  • Will my luggage make it onto the plane with an hour lay-over?
    Mar 14, 2016
I have just over an hour lay-over at DFW. Will be landing in C terminal on AA (domestic) and will be flying out of D terminal (international) on Qatar airways. Although will be flying two separate airlines, both were booked under one ticket by AA. I know it is an easy transfer for me, but what about my checked luggage? Is that enough time for the luggage to get transferred to my next flight or should I pack a few extra outfits in my hand luggage assuming that the chances are slim??

Yes, that should be enough time for the baggage. It's not a bad idea to pack a change of clothes in your carry-on though.

  • Connection time in Dallas
    Mar 14, 2016
Hello, I'm flying American Airlines from Boston, arriving in Dallas at 2:34pm and have a connecting flight to Managua (still on American) departing at 3:25, will that be enough time since I'm not checking any bags? As long as my first flight has landed/I'm through security, your connecting flight cannot leave without you, is that correct? Second, my friend is flying in from NYC and only has a 30 minute layover in Dallas before she joins me on our flight to Managua and she's very worried about making the flight - will it be possible/any tips to make the connection faster? Thanks!

Flights do not wait for people. All both of you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The skylink train connects all terminals inside security. You have enough time. Your friends connection is very difficult.

  • Connection less than 1 hr

If I have a connectiing flight in Dallas of 46 minutes, would that be enough? Flying AA from AUS via DFW to LAX

Yes, that should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. The Skylink train connects all terminals and gates inside security.

Hello, I am flying from Denver to Dallas and from Dallas to London. I have just 1 hour there. is it enough time for catching the plane? thank you

Yes, if both tickets are on the same reservation you just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all terminals and gates inside security.

Im travelling from Miami to Sydney with a conneting flight at DFW. Arriving at DFW at 2100 and departing at 2225. Will that be sufficient time so I dont miss the next flight?

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all terminals inside security.

I am connecting in dallas to and from an international flight with an hour layover each time. Is this enough time to go through customs and catch my connecting flight as they are both late afternoon?

Where are you flying from and to? What airlines are you flying? I can't answer your question without that info.

I'm flying from MAF to DME and back with American Airlines and British Airways.

On the way to Moscow that is enough time. On the way back, if your arrival into DFW is the first point you land at in the United States, no that is not enough time.

im sorry, I mis read my returning itinerary; I'll have just over 2 hours at DFW. Would that allow me enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • Fast track through customs/security
    Mar 7, 2016
We will be flying back from Puerto Villarta transferring to ORD. I've heard about very long waits through customs/bag claim/security etc. I think our layover is less than 2 hours. Is there a fast track process (like PRE-TSA options I can purchase to get through the airline process quicker?

No, immigration is not controlled by the airlines. There is nothing you can purchase to speed it up from the airlines. However, you can apply for Global Entry. You should have enough time.

  • Connection advice needed!
    Mar 6, 2016
Arriving DFW at 7:20 am on an international flight, connecting to a domestic flight on a different airline / different reservation departing at 10:20 am. After collecting luggage, clearing customs, etc., will I have to leave security and go through the ticketing process all over again for the second airline for the domestic flight? If so, is a three-hour layover doable? Thanks!

Yes, you will likely have to take a shuttle bus to another Terminal (I can tell you the terminal if you tell me the airline), then check your bags at their check in desk, get your boarding passes, and go through security. 3 hours should be possible, especially early in the morning.

Connecting to an American Airlines flight. Thank you!

In that case you should be able to re-check your bags in the terminal you arrive in (Terminal D).

  • Enough Time
    Mar 2, 2016
Hi, I have a flight schedule from Argentina to Chicago with connection in DFW. ETA would be 5:28AM and departure time 7:00AM, would be enough time?

At that early hour you should have enough time. If you do miss your connection there are hourly flights from DFW to Chicago that you can be rebooked on.

Many thanks for your advise. Is an AA connection so hopefully it won't be that complex.

  • Sufficient Layover
    Mar 2, 2016
Travelling to Australia with a connection in DFW on AA- short connection of 1:17 - second flight (flight out of DFW) is operated by Qantas so I know we are definitely changing planes would that be a sufficient layover to get us from arrival to dept gates?

Yes, that should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

  • Terminal 0
    Mar 4, 2016
I have a flight leaving from terminal 0.... it isn't on any maps. Help.

There is no Terminal 0. Sometimes if your flight is a domestic flight on American it says that because they use multiple terminals (A, C, and D for mainline and B for American Eagle).

Thank you ZAP. I have flown numerous times via Dallas but always had a connecting flight within a few hours. Connections from my Qantas flights have always been through D (to Toronto) or B (to US destinations). This time I am having a 4 day stopover. It is an American Eagle flight and assume check in and departure will be in Terminal B. I am sure I will find the right place on the day. I thought maybe there had been a new building since I was there last... Thanks again.

  • CUN - DFW - SYD Connection
    Mar 1, 2016
I have a flight booked with Qantas / AA codeshare on the one ticket from CUN - DFW - SYD. The flight times have been changed so that arrival at DFW is 20:40 (Sat) and departure 22:15 (Sat) for a transit time of 1h 35min. Will I have to collect baggage and clear customs before checking in to the second leg, and will this be enough time?

You will go through US Immigration, clear customs, and go through security. You shouldn't have to claim your baggage since you are on an International to International connection, but confirm that with AA employees in Dallas.

Thanks for your help ZAP. Yes it appears you are correct and QF / AA connections are ITI, so we will be able to use the Carry E-Z passport control line, so hopefully 1h 35min will be sufficient.

  • Customs & terminal change
    Mar 1, 2016
Never been to DFW before and return flight indicates a terminal change. We will be leaving PLS at 4:25 arrive DFW at 8:00 and depart for DEN at 10:00. Is this sufficient times at this time of day for customs and terminal change with checked bags?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the skylink train to your departure gate if it is in Terminal A or C.
