I'm planning on booking a flight for my folks to come visit Korea this fall. The flight to Korea has a 50 minute layover in Dallas between PNS and ICN, and I'm worried that this isn't enough time. My folks are in their sixties and not experienced international travelers, so I'm worried that they might get lost in the terminal and miss their flight (never mind that the flight from Pensacola might be delayed). Last year when I traveled the same route, I opted to take a connecting flight in Tokyo rather than miss the flight to Incheon, but I would prefer to not have to put my folks through another flight if it's possible. So my question is, is 50 minutes really enough time? Thanks!

Yes, it is enough time. All gates at DFW are connected inside security by the Skylink train. All they have to do if both flights are AA is take the train from their arrival gate in Terminal B to their departure gate in Terminal D.

Hi! Is 2hrs 6min long enough to make an international-domestic connection in DFW? I'm travelling from London Heathrow as a British Citizen. Thank you!

That's barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Is 55 minutes enough to make the connection?

Yes, that is enough time. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security and you just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

American Airlines changed the departure time for one of my flights CLE-DFW-NRT (Tokyo). I now only have 60 minutes layover in DFW. Will I have enough time to make it from domestic gates to international gates?

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate and the Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

Hello, I am traveling from Narita to Dallas and will arrive at 8:25am. Will I have enough time to get through customs and recheck my bags to catch a flight from Dallas to Tampa at 12:15pm? Its almost a 4 hour layover but I've never traveled through the Dallas airport.

Yes, that should be plenty of time

I'm looking at a flight from Tampa to DFW then transferring to Incheon, Korea. Is 1 hour 30 minutes enough to make the terminal change?

Yes, if both tickets are on the same reservation that is enough time. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

Hello, my flight from NRT will arrive at DFW at 0825 (american airline) and fly to CLE at 1100 (american airline). will transit time of 2 hours and 35 be enough time? what do i need to do for the transiting time? thanks

Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the skylink train to your departure gate, which will likely be in a different terminal.

I am flying in from CLT to DFW & then connects to HKTG with 60 mins transit time. Will there be enough time to clear US immigration, then customs, etc? I took 2hrs to clear everything from HKTG-DFW-MEX just 2 days ago. Thanks!

There is no US Immigration and Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in DFW on your way to Hong Kong is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security. You have enough time.

Thank you! Do I still need to go through screening for my hand-carry luggage? Or simply just proceed straight to departure gate without any queuing?

Appreciate your final advice & confirmation. Thanks!

You just go to your departure gate. No additional security required.

  • Miami - DFW - Minneapolis (44 minutes enough?)

Hello, I am looking to book a flight from Miami to Minneapolis through DFW. I will have 44 minutes between flights. Would that be enough? Would I need to run? Both flights are American Airlines flights and the connection is around noon. Thanks, AK

It's possible but doesn't leave much time to spare if the flight from Miami is delayed. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.

I have a flight that lands at 8:00 am in Terminal C from St. Louis. I then have a connecting flight at 8:50 in Terminal D that departs at 8:50. Will this be enough time? I did buy the tickets together on travelocity.

Yes, that should be enough time if your flight from St. Louis is on-time. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • From terminal d to terminal c

I'm a UK citizen flying from London to Dallas and then taking connecting flight to Orlando. We have two and half hours to make the connection. Is this sufficient? Also what is the easiest and quickest way to get from terminal d to terminal c? Thanks

Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, go through security, and then take the Skylink train to your departure terminal if it is in A or C.

  • terminal A to C in less than 10 mins

I am flying from Ontario California to Dallas arrive Thursday 24th 4:05 PM connecting flight to St. Louis leaves at 4:45 PM that gives me 10 minutes to get from terminal "A" to "c" is that reasonable ? and how do I do that as we know the cabin door shuts 10 minutes earlyso I am very limited on time what is the quickest way to get there? I know that use the train or can I go by foot?

The train is probably fastest. You have a chance if the flight from ONT is on-time. If you miss it AA has frequent flights from DFW to STL that you can be rebooked on.

My connecting flight at DFW is going to Cabo. Will this change anything?

Then your DFW to Cabo flight leaves from Terminal D.

Hi there. We are UK citizens travelling from London Heathrow into DFW and then on to Ft Lauderdale on Friday afternoon. We are travelling in to DFW with BA and then out to Ft Lauderdale with AA - they are partner airlines so we can check in both flights at Heathrow with our baggage being checked straight through plane to plane. We have 90 minutes between flights - is this sufficient time to make our connection?

Your baggage will be tagged to FLL, but in DFW you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate, possibly in another terminal. The Skylink train connects all terminals inside security. You have barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

Thanks for your help - we have moved the connecting flights back an hour. For the benefit of others, our 1hr30 slot was booked and approved through British Airways who have told me the MCT is 1hr25 - totally inadequate, but they refused to do anything to help and their solution to solve our problem would have cost x6 booking a different flight through AA. Poor on their part.

I'm flying with Qantas from Sydney on a Monday at 13:35 and only have 1:03 to transfer to my flight to Orlando. Will this be enough time? Many thanks.

No, that is totally not enough time for an International to Domestic connection at DFW. You need at least 2 hours.

I'm coming in from Cancun connecting in DFW to Toronto, Canada. I was told at check in a few minutes ago that I don't have to claim my luggage in DFW. Is that correct? I have 1hr 20 minutes in DFW.

Yes, that is correct. You still have barely enough time though.
