My Qatar flight is booked from Doha to Salt Lake city. I need to change to AA at DFW. Arriving 5pm and my AA flight to SLC is 7pm. Do I hv to check out n in again? Will I hv enough time?
You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and take the Skylink train to your departure gate. You should have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I have flight from Amarillo,TX throw DFW to Qatar. I have layover about 50 min. Do I have time to catch the Qatar Airways plane. I will have checked in luggage
If both tickets are on the same reservation then that is enough time. You just have to take the Skylink train from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Yes they are connected. Thank you
I am flying TUL to ORD and have 45minutes connection time in DFW. That probably means I have 30mins to make from gate D25 to C37. Do you guys think is it possible to make the connection or should I get a next flight?
Yes, that's possible. Also it's unlikely a flight from Tulsa will arrive in D. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.
Thanks for the response ZAP. It is an AA flight operated by American Eagle. Do you know how much time does skylink take to travel between Ter D & C?
Then it won't arrive in D. It will arrive in B. The Skylink shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
Im flying on a flight AA 37 from MAD to PVR. I have a 1 hour and 50 minute layover time. What is the procedure and do I stay in the same Terminal D? Will that be enough time to get through immigration and get bags and go through customs? Will I also have to go through security again before going to connecting gate?
The connection is in DFW
AAflight37 to AA flight1467
You will go through US Immigration, customs and security. You do not have to claim your bag since you are on an International to International connection all on AA over DFW. You have just enough time.
I am taking an internal flight with AA to DFW and then transferring to an international AA flight to LHR - I only have 1hr 20 mins (no luggage) to transit - will I have enough time and not miss my flight? getting really worried :(
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.
I need to fly from CHS to DFW to catch the QF8 to SYD. Looks like there is really only one option which is flying AA and allows approx 2hrs between flights. Is this enough time given they are separate tickets and I will not have baggage checked through all the way? Also if I can check in online for the QF8 flight do airlines like Qantas have baggage drop facilities airside so I don't have to go landside and go through security?
Yes, that should be barely enough time. Since AA and Qantas are Oneworld partners you can show your Qantas confirmation to the AA agent in Charleston and ask that your bags be checked through to Sydney. Otherwise you will have to go landside, claim your bags, take the shuttle to Terminal D, re-check them with Qantas, and go through security.
Thanks for the feedback ZAP - that was my feeling too. I did ring up AA and ask if they checked luggage for Qantas but the reply was very uncertain and basically amounted to "Not as a rule but depends on the staff at the time" - meanwhile Qantas's response was "Ask AA if they'll check the luggage for the international leg." I guess my other option is to try and pack so I don't need to check any luggage.
I will be arriving DFW 5:00 pm from Heathrow, I have a connecting flight to New Orleans at 6:40 pm
Will that be enough time to go through customs, immigration, and to recheck in my baggage?
Regards Lars
It's technically a legal connection but it will be very difficult.
Hello again

I just noticed it was only 1.30 between the flights, I will arrive 5.0 pm with AA081 8 October.
My next flight is with AA2376 6.30 pm to New Orleans. Do you think there will be a chance to make it?

Regards Lars
There's a chance, but realistically only if the flight from London arrives early.
My friend is flying into dfw with a 35 minute window to catch the next flight. Terminal a to terminal b. Will they have enough time to deplane (747 plane) and catch the next flight?

My mother will be flying into DFW from Heathrow (UK) and would need to catch a connecting flight to San Angelo about 2hrs later, or else she would have to wait in DFW for another 8 hours for the next flight. Is 2hrs realistically enough time to clear customs/re-check bags?

Many Thanks
Yes, it's just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I have 40 minutes between flights
I flight from Denver to Dallas and i have to take The flight to Argentina. Only 40 minutes between. It's posible?
Yes, it's possible, but it obviously leaves no time to spare if the flight from Denver is delayed.
Hi, I and 4 others arrive at Dallas FW on Saturday the 17th from Heathrow, we arrive at 15.55 and have a connecting flight to Fort Myers that leaves at 18.25, does this give us enough time to get through immigration etc? I guess we will need to pick out bags up and recheck them in??
Many thanks
Yes, that should be enough time. Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and take the Skylink train to your departure gate.
Thank you , I appreciate your help,
Good morning, British Airways have sent me the following message " As your journey is wholly with British Airways or oneworld alliance airlines, your baggage will be through-checked to your final destination.
Your baggage will be labelled through to your onward flight destination and you will be given a boarding pass for your next flight. You do not have to pick up your bags and check in again. Simply follow the Flight Connections signs and make your way to the relevant terminal.
Does this seem correct to you? I worry that our luggage will be lost!
Many thanks

When entering the US you HAVE TO claim your bags in order to go through US Customs. This is true everywhere in the US. What they sent you just means that your bags will be tagged to your final destination (they will) but you still have to claim them to go through US Customs in DFW. You will drop them at a desk right after.
