  • Connecting to international flight

Hello! I'm planning to fly from London (UK) to Guatemala City on American Airlines, with a connecting flight in DFW. Will I need to go through immigration or will I be able to just go straight to the gate for my second flight (I just need to plan timewise). Thank you!

You will need to go through US Immigration and Customs and security but you will not need to claim and re-check your bags because you are on an International to International connection through DFW.

Thank you so much, ZAP, for your very quick response, really helpful. And it has convinced me that I WILL fly a couple of days earlier and spend some time in Dallas before going on to Guatemala! So hooray for that, I've always wanted to go to Texas! Thanks again x

  • Terminal B to D

I will be coming into DFW (Mesa airline). I have a connecting international flight 2 hr. later so I have to go to terminal D for that. Is this enough time for me to do that?

Yes, that should be plenty of time. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security and all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

HI, I am arriving in DFW from Sydney and have a 5 hour transit before my flight to MSP. I want to get to the Qantas lounge in terminal D after clearing immigration and customs. How do I do that? and Which terminal will my AA flight to MSP leave from?

You can just go through security in Terminal D after clearing customs and re-checking your bag. Your MSP flight will leave from Terminal A, C, or D (probably A or C).

  • Is 40 minutes enough time for connecting Spirit flights

I would be coming into Dallas on a Spirit flight from Denver and then leaving 40 minutes later on a Spirit flight to KC. I am carrying my luggage with me, will this be enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. You will just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate both in Terminal E.

I am to arrive at DFW 9:28a early sept on American. I am to depart at 10:30a on American to YYC Alberta, Canada. Is that enough time? Since both flights on American, will I stay in the same terminal? Any other helpful info appreciated. thanks

That should be enough time. American uses four different terminals of the airport A-D, but they are all connected inside security by the SkyLink Train.

We will be arriving in Dallas as a first port of entry from Puerto Vallarta connecting to Minneapolis. It is the same airline, same plane...is 1 hr 40min enough time to clear customs at get back to our plane?

Yes, that should be enough time. Be aware that there's a good chance that it WON'T be the same plane, even if it is the same flight number.

I arrive from Paris at 3 pm IN dallas airport and i have a flght to Las Vegas at 5 pm . is it enough ? After passport control, what i have to do : pick up luggage and after ? is it difficult ?

You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, go up to the departure level, go through security, and take the SkyLink train to your departure terminal if your flight to Las Vegas is not departing from Terminal D.

  • Clearing customs

I'll be in Tampa for business then from there I'm on holiday to Paris. Coming back to the USA, I'm on a flight that goes Paris to DFW to Tampa. I live in Dallas. After clearing customs, if I suddenly were to become ill, can't I simply walk out and head home to recuperate rather than recheck bags with transfer desk? I know this would cause airline to void rest of ticket, but it is my return to USA flight so doesn't matter. I simply can't recall custom layout at DFW but think all passengers (people whose final destination is DFW and those who are connecting to other flights) get their bags, clear customs, then those connecting on re-check bag at transfer desk while those with Dallas destination walk out of terminal - but simply can't recall if those whose bags are tagged to another destination could walk out too since I always had DFW as my final destination. Thanks

Yes, you could walk out of the airport in Dallas. Just follow the signs for passengers not re-checking their bags and exit the airport as you normally do.

  • Connecting Flights at DFW

I am considering flying through DFW to MSP this summer on American, only because their flights are much less expensive than our usual carrier, Delta. However, most of the flights from BNA to MSP via DFW have very short connections. (45 minutes or so). If my flight leaves out of Nashville on time, will this be a problem? If I'm connecting between two American flights, will I have to get to another concourse, or do all American flights arrive and depart from the same concourse? Thanks in advance.

American and American Eagle use four different terminals at DFW. However, they are all connected inside security by the SkyLink train. A 45 minute connection is possible between any two gates at DFW, but it doesn't leave much room to spare if there are any delays.

I have a flight to DFW. I have no clue how to get to my gate. People have told me I have to ride something. Is that true? Or can I just walk to my gate?

Where are you flying from? What airport are you talking about? DFW or some other airport? What airline are you flying? You didn't really provide enough information to answer this question.

  • Clearing customs for connecting flight

Family of 4 travelling from Australia to Orlando with stop in Dallas. Our Qantas flight arrives at 13:35 with American Airlines flight departing at 15:03. Is this enough time to pass through customs? Do we need to retrieve bags or can they go straight through to Orlando?

Yes, in Dallas you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate, which will likely be in another terminal. It is possible for you to make your connection, but there is no time to spare if there are any delays. Luckily if you miss your connection, American flies many flights from DFW to Orlando.

We just did this and it is easy and doable as long as your kids do not dawdle. Have a blast DW is spectacular.

Just to be certain. Do we need to collect baggage in DFW to make this connection or will it check through to YVR?

No, you will not have to claim your baggage in DFW. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • 1 hr 35 mins layover at DFW

I got an itinerary PEK-DFW-YUL with 1hr 35 mins layover. They are all AA flights. Is it enough to clear immigration, collect the luggage, put it back, and pass the security check to catch up the 2nd flight?

That is barely enough time. Since you are International to International you actually shouldn't have to claim your luggage but confirm that with agents in Beijing and Dallas.

No chance, you need to clear your luggage and put it back for the 2nd flight. Just wondering how far away between the two gates, are they in the same terminal? It could be doable if they are close together, or w/o check-in luggage.

Called DFW since my parents will transfer in DFW. They said it's ok while taking skylink
