I arrive Dallas from Hong Kong and have 1.2 hours on Wednesday no baggage before domestic flight. Is this enough time for immigration and customs

Please don't ask the same question twice in a row.

What is "1.2 hours"? 1 hour 12 minutes? If so no, that's not enough time.

    1 hour 20 minutes

That's still not enough time. it's 10 minutes shorter than the bare minimum and 40 minutes less than I recommend.

Im will be flying from Miami to Los Angeles by AA with one stop in DFW to change the plane. Need I pick up my lugagge in DFW or goes direct to LA?

It will go directly to LA. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all terminals and gates inside security.

  • minimum suggested time between flights

Hi, we're flying into Dallas from Sydney, arriving at 1330. Looking to book flights to Orlando and was wondering what the minimum suggested time frame would be between flights, would prefer not to be rushed. Thanks

Booking both tickets on the same reservation I would want at least 2 hours, maybe even more if I didn't want to feel "rushed"

I arrive from Gaudalajara (GDL) at 1644 with American Airlines and need to connect with AA flight to New Orleans at 1820. With checked bags, customs and immigration do I have time?

I would say that's barely enough time assuming everything goes smoothly. There is a 2010 flight to New Orleans if you miss your connection that you could be rebooked on.

Need to get from C21 to B17 in 55 minutes, is this enought time? walk or other?

This is a domestic flight, flying in from BOS. Connection is on one ticket as well, will airline be responsible for finding me another flight if I miss connection?

I think the SkyLink train will be faster than walking from C to B. Yes, if you miss your connection due to the first flight being delayed they will put you on the next available flight. FYI I think you are flying to Shreveport, which is SHV. SHR is Sheridan, Wyoming.

Arriving on Qatari flight from Doha into DFW and then a connection to DEN on AA. When I get off the Qatari flight I guess I have to clear customs? I have an ESTA. I go thru customs, only have carry on bag, I have 1.45 connection time for the AA flight to Den... chances of making it is dependant on customs wait time?

That should be barely enough time. You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and then take the SkyLink train to your departure terminal and gate. You will depart from terminal A, C, or D.

I will be flying AA from Cabo into Dallas and then off to St. Louis. My connection time is only about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Is that going to be enough time to get through customs and on to my next terminal?

That will be very difficult. The Minimum International to domestic connection time at DFW is 90 minutes and I recommend 2 hours. I would contact American or your travel agent and ask to be rebooked on a later flight to STL.

Hi, I am flying from Australia to Dallas FW and connecting to Air Canada to Toronto. I have clear bagage as I have a separate tricket to Toronto. Would 4 hours be sufficient in Dallas FW for my wife and I to clear immigration, customs and check in to Air Canada? Thanks very much

Yes, 4 hours should be plenty of time. However, you will have to get from Terminal D where you arrive to Terminal E where the Air Canada ticket counter is. The only connection between those two terminals outside security is a slow and infrequent shuttle bus, so be prepared for that.

Thank you so much. Appreciate your reply very much

Hi I am flying from BOS to SAT with a connection at DFW, there is only a 45 min layover is this enough time to get to my connection flight? I will have a toddler with me and only carry on. Thanks

Yes, that should be enough time if your flight from Boston is on-time. All gates and terminals at DFW are connected inside security by the SkyLink train.

    Great Thank you! :)

Hello! im flying to Miami with a connection here at DFW. From Calgary Canada, I have two options, a one hour 8 minute lay over OR 3 hour layover. I would prefer the shorter one but don't know if its enough time? Do I have to get my bag and re check it? thanks!!

It's enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All terminals and gates at DFW are connected inside security by the SkyLink train.

Thanks for your reply I appreciate it!! :)

  • Edmonton to Cancun with a 2 hr. stopover in Dallas Fort Worth Airport
    Aug 8, 2015
Hello, I am flying from Edmonton airport to Cancun via DFW airport with approx. 2 hr. layover in Dallas. Will my baggage automatically be transferred to my connecting flight. Also, will I need to go through security in Dallas before boarding the plane to Cancun?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Edmonton. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. the SkyLink Train connects all gates inside security.

  • is 45min connection time enough?

On our homeward journey we fly from Orlando into Dallas we then have 45 minutes until our flight to London Heathrow leaves. Is this enough time to make the connection? Both flights are with AA. Traveling with hubby, teenager and 2 kids. I'm hoping we don't have to collect baggage and it is automatically transferred. Does anyone know what happens should we miss the flight? Thanks

You do not have to do anything with your baggage in Dallas. You will arrive in Terminal A, C, or D and depart from Terminal D. The SkyLink train connects all terminals and gates inside security. You have enough time if your flight from Orlando is on-time. If you miss your flight you will be put on the next available flight to London.

AA only got 1 hour 20 mins for layover. What's the minimum manageable transit time? Thanks

The minimum time is 90 minutes. You will have to go through US Immigration and Customs and security and then go back to your departure gate. You will not have to claim your bags since you are on an international to international connection through DFW. It's possible if your Cancun flight is on-time or early and everything goes smoothly, but there's no room for error and if you miss your connection you'll be spending the night in Dallas.

i just wonder why AA can sell such ticket :( I wonder if there's any people come across similar situation and able to manage this without accident. Thank you for your reply anyway.

Yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time. The SkyLink train connects all gates inside security.
