Arrive at DFW from New Orleans and have 1 hour to next flight to London Heathrow. Will this be enough time,do I need to go through Customs again?

You do not need to go through customs after a domestic flight, you just have to get from your first flight to your second flight. If your flights are not in the same terminal take Skylink between the terminals.

Many Thanks,do you think 1 hour is enough time?

If your first flight is on-time, then yes, 1 hour is sufficient

    Many Thanks for you help

I'm flying from San Francisco to Buenos Aires and only have a 50 minute connection time at DFW. Is that enough?

If your first flight is on-time, yes, it's enough. All terminals at DFW are conveniently connected via the TerminaLink train.

    thanks.

  • Tight connection to BZE/Belize flight

I'm traveling San Jose, CA to Belize City, all on AA. The connection is 50 minutes, arriving Term A and departing Term D. How difficult is the connection and which is quickest way to get to the gate?

At DFW, the free Skylink train runs inside the post-security area of each of the five terminals, starting at the International Terminal D at gates D2, D20, D25 & D34, and connecting to the other terminals by two Skylink stations each (close to the left and right end). It runs every 2 mins and takes about 5 minutes of transfer time on average. At TA it stops between A13-16 & A29-34.

Take the Skylink train, it should take no more than 15-20 minutes to get between your gates.

  • Custom time entering DFW from Belize

We have a two hour layover between entering FWD from Belize and making our connection flight. Is that enough time to get through customs? We are not checking any luggage.

Yes, that should be plenty of time, especially if your onward flight is also on American.

  • Arr fromSydney/Dept to Cancun

Hi Team, I'm landing from Sydney at 13.45pm and want to depart at 16.25 to Cancun. Couple of questions: A - Is 2.40hr enough time to clear customs (International flight), collect bags and check-in (International flight)? and B - How long would it take between landing Term D (Qantas) and leaving from Term A (AA)? Your answers are appreciated.

On arrival a DFW, at Terminal D, you need to go through passport check, pick up bags, go through customs clearance and re-check-in your bag where indicated. (Qantas & AA both belong to the OneWorld Alliance - your bags will then automatically be transferred to your AA flight). To get to Terminal A, take the free 'Terminal Link' blue & green accessible vans transfer passengers outside the baggage claim of each terminal, running every 10 minutes, 5am-midnight Nearest pick-up/drop-off areas at corresponding terminals are at gate D24 and between gates: A15-16 & A25-26. You have plenty of time.

    Thanks Tujan.... this is helpfull

is 2 hrs and 5 minutes enough to get through customes on American from Costa Rica

How much time do I need to get from terminal O to terminal B.

I suggest you open www.ifly.com/dfw, then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text. (there is no Terminal O - must be D) -

Have 40 minutes to get from B22 to D34...better to walk or skytram?

The Skylink train runs inside security - its station at TB is between gates B9-12 & B28-31; its stations at TD are at gates D2, D20, D25 & D34.

I am looking to book a flight that connects in dallas from indianapolis but says i enter at terminal 0 ... and will leave for Sydney in Terminal D .. all the flights are thru qantas airlines and just want to make sure the hour I have would be plenty of time to make it from terminal 0 which i cant find anywhere on a map .. lol .. to terminal D thanks heaps .. supposed to book flight in about 24 hours .. so help would be great asap .. thanks again

At DFW, Qantas uses only Terminal D (someone must have taken the D for an O). Note that TD has a very long gate area with gates D6-D40 - served by the Skylink train, which makes stops are near gates D1, D20, D25 & D34.

I arrive Gate D40 at 5:20 and connect at Gate A15 at 6am. Will I have enough time to make connection and what's fastest, easiest way?

A little more time will be best.

On arrival at DFW take the free Skylink train running inside the post-security area of each of the five terminals, starting at the International Terminal D at gates D2, D20, D25 & D34, and connecting to the other terminals by two Skylink stations each (close to the left and right end). It runs every 2 mins and takes about 5 minutes of transfer time on average. A gates at TA are A17-39. You have enough time.

I arrive at gate A17 at 905AM and depart gate D31 at 945Am. AA made this change for me. Is that enough time for me to get from gate to gate?

On arrival at DFW, Terminal A, take the Skylink train, running every 2 mins & taking no more than 5 mins (follow signs) to Terminal D where you get off at gate D34 and walk to D31.

I am connecting in DFW from CLT. I have 2 hours and 15 minutes layover. Will that be enough time to get from one terminal to the other.

Yes, that is plenty of time - all terminals in DFW are connected past security.

  • Layover time for senior traveler

I am booking a flight for my 82 year old grandmother who will be traveling alone. She will return from Puerto Vallarta on AA landing at 6:30pm at terminal D and has a connection with AA at another terminal (doesn't specify which one) leaving at 8pm (to Pittsburgh). I am wondering if this is enough time for her, given that she has to go through customs, etc. There is another option, which gives her a 3.5hr layover vs the 1.5hrs mentioned above, any suggestion on which would be better for her? If she requests a wheelchair will they take her through the entire process and will it be quicker? Thanks in advance!

While your mother's arrival at DFW is in Terminal D, where she needs to go through passport check, pick up her bag (if she has a checked bag) and go through customs clearance, then re-check-in bag where indicated. American Eagle uses Terminals B & D, American Airlines uses domestic flight Terminals A & C - all with corresponding gates (i.e., gate A17). The free Skylink train runs inside the post-security area of each of the five terminals, starting at the International Terminal D at gates D2, D20, D25 & D34, and connecting to the other terminals by two Skylink stations each (close to the left and right end). It runs every 2 mins and takes about 5 minutes of transfer time on average. Terminals A, B, C & E Skylink stations are between gates A13-16 & A29-34, B9-12 & B28-31, C8-12 & C27-32, and E8-11 & E31-32. 1.5 hours is plenty of time for transfer.

I'm going to Mexico next week. When I return the following week and have to go thru Customs, will I have to go thru TSA Security Check (again) before boarding my connecting flight to STL? I'm asking this because last year when I went and came back thru Miami, I did have go thru TSA. When we arrived in Miami, we barely had time to pick them up and re-check them. When I was leaving Mexico, I bought a bottle of Kahlua and ended up having to dump it in Miami when I had to go thru TSA. I don't want the same thing to happen again.

The reason why you may have to go through security again is that after customs clearance you are in the unsecured area and therefore, if transferring to another flight, will need to go through security check before proceeding to connecting gates - unless the Airport you arrive at shuttles you by special bus to your connecting terminal/ concourse /gate. At DFW, the Skylink train runs inside security, while 'Terminal Link' blue & green vans transfer passengers outside baggage claim depositing them between the following gates: A15-16 & A25-26; B12-13 & B23; C12-15 & C24-27; D17 and D24; E9-13 & E18-21. On arrival look at overhead screen to find your connecting gate.
