How busy is customs on Sunday afternoon? How long should I expect to be going through customs, immigration, and bag claim and recheck? I land from Costa Rica at 1:45

That's a pretty busy time. If you have less than 2 hours for your connection I would be somewhat worried.

  • Changing from Terminal B to Terminal D

I am flying into DFW from Fayetteville (terminal B) at 6 23 pm. I fly out of DFW (Terminal D) to Sydney , Australia at 8.00 pm. Is that sufficient time to clear customs etc. How much time do I need to go from Terminal B toTerminal D?

You do not need to clear customs in Dallas, as this is not an international arrival. You will use the skytrain to get from Terminal B to Terminal D, and will be at your departure gate within twenty minutes with no trouble making your connection. Enjoy Australia!

Tomorrow,I will arrive in Dallas at gate D20 from an international arrival at 1:45PM and depart from gate A14 to a domestic destination. My scenario is similar to that of someone who commented a few days ago, and you said it was a difficult connection. Does mine look difficult also? Thanks

You didn't post your departure time. So I don't know.

Sorry! 3:35 departure. Also, Zap, is this a job that you get paid for? Or do you just go from forum to forum helping people?

That should be just enough time if everything goes perfectly. No, I don't get paid for this.

Hello. I am flying into DFW on AA from London arriving at 7pm and connecting to another AA flight to Santiago de Chile departing 845pm the same evening. I know its a tight connection but its all on one ticket purchased directly from AA. Is this a realistic connection given that I guess I'll still have to complete US immigration and customs despite simply using the States to get from one country to another? Is there any kind of "fast track" immigration facility for business class passengers as exists at other international gateways that might speed things up? Thank you.

You will have priority security and won't have to claim your bags during your connection. I think you can make this as long as your flight from London is on-time. Also, immigration isn't crowded at that time of the evening.

Thanks, that is reassuring! Appreciate it.

  • Enough time?

I arrive from Calgary to DFW and have a 1 hour and 11 minute layover. I will have no checked luggage. Will I have enough time to make it through customs and security?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security.

American just changed my flight time and I'm afraid I won't have time to make the second flight. I land at DFW from North Carolina at 9:50 a.m. in Terminal B. My flight for Mexico leaves at 10:35 a.m. from Terminal D. Will it work? Both flights are on the same ticket.

It's not impossible, The Skylink train connects all terminals inside security and all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Since it is an involuntary schedule change you could call and request an earlier flight from North Carolina and they should not charge a change fee, if such a flight exists.

I land from Cancun on AA at 1:45. I have a 1hr50min layover before connecting to Baltimore at 3:35. Is this enough time? Also, how busy is customs and immigration at this time of day. Lastly, heavy thunderstorms are in the forecast for Sunday afternoon, which is when I fly. Could this affect my arrival or departure? Thanks!

That will be a difficult connection. Yes DFW is impacted by thunderstorms but usually recovers quickly.

Arriving from Puerto Vallarta on AA at 3:19pm departing to BWI also on AA at 4:50pm, no checked bags. Will I have enough time to make the connection?

That should be enough time. Since you have no checked bags you can use the Onestop line.

I am flying from Cabo with a connection at DFW. We are scheduled to arrive at 11:58 am with a departure at 1:50 pm. The last time through DFW in November it took 2.5 hours to get through customs. Is two hours enough presently.

    It should be enough time.

Hey I am flying from Birmingham , Alabama to Dallas by American Airlines and I have to Doha by Qatar airways , how I have to get my boardingpass for Qatar airways at Dallas ? I have to go out to at counter of Qatar and get boarding pass and again ihave to do security check in?

If both tickets are on the same reservation then American should be able to issue your Qatar boarding pass in Birmingham and all you have to do in DFW is take the skylink train to terminal D.

Hi! Im flying from London to DFW. From Dallas I need to take a plane to go to Jackson, MS. I have 2 hours between my flights. Do you think is it enough ? If I miss my flight can I get in an other plane to Jackson ? Cause I must be there the next day. Thanks for your answer.

In DFW you will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the Skylink train to your departure gate. You should have enough time if your flight from London is on-time.

Coming from Cabo transferring in Dallas to Chicago, where do i go thru customs and will my bags check all the way to Chicago

In DFW you will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the Skylink train to your departure gate.

Are there GOES machines at DFW?

DFW has Global Entry if that's what you're asking. GOES is the system where you maintain your Global Entry account.

Thanks, I did mean global entry which I have

Hello I will be arriving to DFW on the Qantas flight from Sydney and I am connecting to an American Airlines flight to Miami. Do I have to pick up my checked bags at DFW or are they checked through to Miami?

Yes, in DFW you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the Skylink train to your departure gate.

Hi, my wife and 2 small kids are planning on travelling from DOHA to DFW ( Qatar Airways) and they would have a 1 hr 40 min connection in DFW to proceed to their final destination in YVR (Vancouver) via American Airlines. Do you think there would be enough time for them to make the transit in DFW? I need to decide on the ticket in that case. Thanks

    That is barely enough time.

Hello, I will arrive in DFW at 5:20 AM via American Airlines and I have a connecting flight to SFO at 7:30 AM via United Airlines. It that enough time? How should I proceed there?

Seeing that REC and DFW have no direct flights, I assume you are connecting at MIA or another domestic airport? If this is the case and your American and United airlines ticket were booked on the SAME reservation, then all you need to do is ride the skylink train to Terminal E, no need to leave security. If they are booked on DIFFERENT reservations, you need to exit the secured area and claim any checked luggage and ride the Terminal Link Bus to Terminal E where you will check in with United. Please clarify your routing out of REC
