  • CUN - DFW - SYD Connection

I have a flight booked with Qantas / AA codeshare on the one ticket from CUN - DFW - SYD. The flight times have been changed so that arrival at DFW is 20:40 (Sat) and departure 22:15 (Sat) for a transit time of 1h 35min. Will I have to collect baggage and clear customs before checking in to the second leg, and will this be enough time?

You will go through US Immigration, clear customs, and go through security. You shouldn't have to claim your baggage since you are on an International to International connection, but confirm that with AA employees in Dallas.

Thanks for your help ZAP. Yes it appears you are correct and QF / AA connections are ITI, so we will be able to use the Carry E-Z passport control line, so hopefully 1h 35min will be sufficient.

Never been to DFW before and return flight indicates a terminal change. We will be leaving PLS at 4:25 arrive DFW at 8:00 and depart for DEN at 10:00. Is this sufficient times at this time of day for customs and terminal change with checked bags?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the skylink train to your departure gate if it is in Terminal A or C.

Can I Stay at the Hyatt Regency in DFW Terminal C and take skylink to Terminal E in the morning?

    Yes, you can.

    Thank you ZAP!

I guess I should note that you'll have to print off your boarding pass at the hotel's business center or use a mobile boarding pass to go through security in Terminal C for an airline in Terminal E.

  • international connection with two kids and much lugguage

Hi, I have an international connection in August. I am coming from Korea in aa280 terminal D, and need to take aa 1335 to Pittsburgh in about 3 hours 30 minutes. I am guessing I have enough time, but I am traveling with two children, ages 4 and 7, with 3-4 large suitcases. As far as I understand, I need to check in my lugguages again in international trips; Can I send my suitcases before moving to the other terminal, or do you have any service (even paid) who can help us move ? In the busy airport, I really want to focus on keeping my kids safe (and other travelers by not hitting them with my cart).

Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the re-check desk immediately after. Just have your kids follow you the whole time.

Not sure how much time we will need between landing at Dallas from Lubbock at 2.20pm and catching next flight at 3.35 pm to the uk. Will our baggage go straight through to our next flight? Will we have to go through immigration again as we have to go from terminal B to TD

Yes, your baggage will go straight through. There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. You just have to take the skylink train from Terminal B to Terminal D.

I'm landing in Terminal D with a BA flight from London at 3:55 and need to get to Corpus Christi. There's an AA flight leaving at 6:40 (idk what Terminal) that I want to book because it's the last departure that day. Is 1 hour and 45 mins enough time to go through customs and everything?

Oh and this is on a Saturday

Looks to me like you have 2 hours and 45 mins. If both tickets are on the same reservation that is enough time. Your flight to Corpus Christi will leave from Terminal B.

  • Toronto To Puerto Vallerta Via DFW

Hi, I have a 1 hr 3 min layover between my flight from Toronto and my flight to PVR, is this enough time to clear customs?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. On your way to Puerto Vallarta all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in DFW. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security.

Hi We travel from London to Dallas then on to Vegas - do we need to do immigration in Dallas? Do our bags be checked through to Vegas or what is the procedure in Dallas please? How long will it all take?

Yes, in Dallas you will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the skylink train to your departure gate in Terminal A or C.

  • International To International Connection Time Help
    Feb 24, 2016

I'm a US citizen traveling on American Airlines from Frankfurt Germany (FRA) to Vancouver International (YVR) with a stop over in DFW (and then YVR to DFW to FRA on the return). I'm wondering if my connection times are enough. Will I have to clear customs and pick up checked luggage at DFW even though I am just transiting through? The flight from FRA to DFW lands at 1450 (terminal D) and the flight from DFW to YVR departs at 1745 (says terminal 0, but assuming D?). Time between flights: 2hr 55 min. The return trip is tighter, with the flight from YVR to DFW landing at 1405 (terminal 0 again?) and the flight from DFW to FRA departing at 1545 (terminal D). Time between flights: 1hr 40 min. Never had two international flights in a row like this, wondering what I'll have to do at customs, baggage, etc. Thanks in advance.

On your way to Vancouver you will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security in Dallas, but should not have to claim your baggage, but confirm that with AA employees at DFW. On your return you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate via the skylink train.

    Thanks for the information!

  • 1hr 45 mins connection between uk flight & domestic.

Hi, I'm having a nightmare with my BA flights, they keep rebooking & cancelling my flights. The latest option I have is 1hr 45 in DFW. Arriving 24 March at 15.35 on BA flight into TD and departing to El Paso from terminal B at 17.20. They assure me 1hr 45 is over their min. Connection time & should be enough, but I'm not convinced. Does anyone have any advice please? Is baggage collection b4 customs/passport control? Thanks for any help, they're phoning back in the morning.

    All on one ticket booking.

You arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the SkyLink train to your departure gate. 1 hr 45 mins is over the minimum and is possible, but depends on nothing going wrong. If you do miss your connection there are at least two later flights to El Paso.

How is the transit from terminal B to D? I will arrive at terminal B at 9:10 pm and depart from terminal D at 9:50 pm. only a 40 min layover. Also will I need to get my baggage and check it in again?

If both tickets are on the same reservation you don't need to claim your checked baggage. It is possible to make that connection as long as the first connection is on-time. The Skylink train connects B and D in less than 10 minutes.

  • transit at DFW to Aguas
    Feb 23, 2016

My boss will fly to Dallas from Narita via JAL and then he will have to transit to American Airline forward Aguascalientes. Please kindly advise how he can transit in details. According to travel agency, he can transit within terminal D as JAL will arrive terminal D and also AA will departs from terminal D. However, according to co-worker who already flied to Aguas, he had to transit at other terminal than D. I could not find out right answer by googling. Would apreciate if anyone can advise me.

Your co-worker is correct. American Eagle departures to Mexico depart with the rest of the American Eagle flights in Terminal B. So once you clear US Customs you will have to head through security and to Terminal B on the Skylink train.

Im arriving from Madrid and 4.25pm and leaving to Vancouver Canada at 5.45pm with AA and checked lugage, its my understanding that I have to pick up luggage and recheckin, its enough time for the connection?

That is not enough time for an international to international connection through DFW. Contact whoever you booked that ticket through to request an alternative routing.
