  • Is Layover enough
    Jun 17, 2015
Hi, I am Indian, and am travelling to SEA, with layover at DFW, for 1.5 hours(15:40 to 17:15 on a Saturday). I am travelling via Qatar and will be taking AA for SEA. I think, I will have to go through Immigration and customs at DFW. Will the layover time be enough?

Yes, that layover is enough time. Yes, in DFW you will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, go up to the departure level, go through security, and take the SkyLink train to your departure gate if it isn't in Terminal D.

  • Dallas Fort Worth Custom
    Jun 17, 2015
hi, I am U.S. citizen. I will come back Omaha, NE from Cancun, Mexico with connections flight from Dallas Fort Worth (both flight with AA). I only have 1 hours and 25 minutes. Is it enough? Will I have anytime to spare?

that's 5 minutes shorter than the recommended connection time and about 20 minutes shorter than what I recommend. It's possible, but everything will have to work perfectly.

Thank you your quick responses. Should I call AA to change my flight?

You can try, maybe they can find you a better connection over another AA hub.

  • London to GDL transferring in DFW
    Jun 16, 2015
hi- I will be flying from London to Mexico, with a plane change in DFW. AA just emailed me and said my flight will be pushed back an hour, leaving me only 1 hour to get to the gate for my Mexico flight. Is 1 hour enough time? Do I have to go through customs, recheck my bag, and go through security again?

That may be barely possible but I'd call them and ask for either an earlier flight to DFW or later flight to Mexico (if one is available). You do have to go through Immigration and Security but you won't have to claim and re-check your bag in Dallas.

  • Connecting fligh

I will be travelling from Atlanta aiport to Dallas, and than dallas to doha ... I only have 40 minutes at dwf to catch flight for doha ....how many checks i need to go through ?Please advise

Assuming both tickets were purchased together you will go through Zero checks in Dallas. All you have to do is take the SkyLink train from your arrival terminal to Terminal D where you will depart. Obviously there's no time to spare if your flight from Atlanta is delayed.

Thanks for the reply. yes i purchased both tickets together...if in case i misses the flight ? do airline adjust in different flight.

Yes, they would put you on the next available flight.

However, since you are going to Doha, that wouldn't be until the next day.

  • 60 minute layover?
    Jun 15, 2015
I booked a flight on American Airlines from Vancouver to Orlando. It flight I picked lays over in Dallas. I chose the flight with the 3 hour layover as I was worried anything less may be difficult. Long story short my flight has been changed and I now have a 60 minute layover ! I am worried this will not be enough time to get onto my connection flight! As I said I am Flying American from Vancouver to Dallas then American again onto Orlando. Will the departure even be in the same terminal as the arrival? Thanks in advance for any info, tips, or tricks! :)

You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Vancouver. All you have yo do in Dallas is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The SkyLink train in Dallas connects all terminals and gates inside security. It shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes to get between gates.

thanks so much for the reply :) for sure feel much less stressed out now!!!!

  • Madrid to Austin

  • Transit question
    Jun 14, 2015
I am flying from Columbia South Carolina via Dallas en route to Sydney Australia. I arrive in terminal B and leave from terminal D. There are no customs and immigration facilities in Columbia. I am Canadian/Australian and the US will need to know I have departed. How do I go through customs etc. in Dallas I have 1 1/2 hour transit time.

You do not go through US Immigration or Customs when you leave the US. The airline will collect your passport information when you check in in Columbia and Qantas will verify it when you board the flight to Australia. They will give this information to US Immigration authorities informing them that you left. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

The SkyLink Train connects terminals B and D inside security.

    Thank you....

  • Connecting flight to London
    Jun 12, 2015
We will be arriving in Dallas on AA from Orlando late August. We only have 55 minutes for our connecting flight, also AA, to London. How many checks do we have to go through and is this enough time?!

There are ZERO checks you have to go through in Dallas. All you have to do is take the SkyLink train from your arrival terminal to Terminal D where you will depart.

  • Connecting to international flight
    Jun 13, 2015
Hello! I'm planning to fly from London (UK) to Guatemala City on American Airlines, with a connecting flight in DFW. Will I need to go through immigration or will I be able to just go straight to the gate for my second flight (I just need to plan timewise). Thank you!

You will need to go through US Immigration and Customs and security but you will not need to claim and re-check your bags because you are on an International to International connection through DFW.

Thank you so much, ZAP, for your very quick response, really helpful. And it has convinced me that I WILL fly a couple of days earlier and spend some time in Dallas before going on to Guatemala! So hooray for that, I've always wanted to go to Texas! Thanks again x

  • Terminal B to D
    Jun 11, 2015
I will be coming into DFW (Mesa airline). I have a connecting international flight 2 hr. later so I have to go to terminal D for that. Is this enough time for me to do that?

Yes, that should be plenty of time. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security and all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Qantas lounge at DFW
    Jun 10, 2015
HI, I am arriving in DFW from Sydney and have a 5 hour transit before my flight to MSP. I want to get to the Qantas lounge in terminal D after clearing immigration and customs. How do I do that? and Which terminal will my AA flight to MSP leave from?

You can just go through security in Terminal D after clearing customs and re-checking your bag. Your MSP flight will leave from Terminal A, C, or D (probably A or C).

  • Is 40 minutes enough time for connecting Spirit flights
    Jun 9, 2015
I would be coming into Dallas on a Spirit flight from Denver and then leaving 40 minutes later on a Spirit flight to KC. I am carrying my luggage with me, will this be enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. You will just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate both in Terminal E.

  • Is 40 minutes enough?
    Jun 8, 2015
Will 40 minutes be enough time for me to catch my connecting flight in Dallas? I am coming from Los Angeles to Zacatecas Mexico?

  • MCI to DFW to YYC Alberta, Canada
    Jun 7, 2015
I am to arrive at DFW 9:28a early sept on American. I am to depart at 10:30a on American to YYC Alberta, Canada. Is that enough time? Since both flights on American, will I stay in the same terminal? Any other helpful info appreciated. thanks

That should be enough time. American uses four different terminals of the airport A-D, but they are all connected inside security by the SkyLink Train.

  • Time to Clear Customs
    Jun 4, 2015
We will be arriving in Dallas as a first port of entry from Puerto Vallarta connecting to Minneapolis. It is the same airline, same plane...is 1 hr 40min enough time to clear customs at get back to our plane?

Yes, that should be enough time. Be aware that there's a good chance that it WON'T be the same plane, even if it is the same flight number.
