Tomorrow on March 6th. I am taking a flight from Indianapolis to Memphis with a connecting flight in Dallas. Only One hour layover. I need help getting to the tram and next gate. I don't think I can walk fast from gate C 20 to Gate B 41 and also do I have to re-check my luggage in Dalles too ?

I am travelling vancouver to dallas fw then on to sydney, with less than 2 hrs from arriving at dfw to flying out to sydney. Will my luggage just go through to sydney, or will i need to collect at dallas? Just worried about the timing as came into vancouver via lax and the entire process took 3 hours!

If you purchased tickets together, baggage will be transferred in DFW. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Terminal D.

I live in Dallas, and a friend has a 2 hour DFW connection, staying in the US/domestic flight. Will my friend be able to leave the security area to see me and re-enter later and go through security again?

Yes, you can, but be sure to bring your boarding pass with you. You also won't have a whole lot of time.

Hi we are US Citizen and arriving from PVR, Mexico by American Airlines and have to catch domestic AA flight and we have 1:38 in between. Is it possible to catch our connection?

Yes, it is possible but it depends on your first flight being on-time and immigration not being backed up.

I have AA flight from Costa Rica arriving DFW with 55 min to get next flight to SYD ,is this enough time for transit or do I have to go through customs and pick up bags etceven if the bags are checked all the way through to SYD Thanks for you help

NO! That is not enough time. You need to find another itinerary. Since it's unlikely that there is an earlier flight from Costa Rica and there definitely isn't a later flight to Sydney.

Thank you I will see the travel agent who thinks it is possible !!

Do you know if we have to go through customs, when we arrive from Costa Rica in Terminal D and leave from terminal D to SYD . Thanks

Yes, you have to go through US Immigration and Customs and security when you arrive. That is why the connection is impossible.

  • Enough time for customs?

American Airlines just notified of flight change that allows a mere 54 minutes from incoming Toronto flight to departing flight. Is it even remotely possible to clear customs in that amount of time??

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security.

Flying from Sydney with a connection in DFW. 4 hour layover. Is this enough time to go through customs? Do I need to go to baggage claim to retrieve luggage, then through customs, back through security to my departing gate? Thanks for your help!

Yes, you have the procedure correct and yes, 4 hours is plenty of time.

I will arrive to DFW at 10:39am and suppose to leave 11:30 am to HKG, i have never been to DFW and i dont know gates and what i have to do. Please let me know if my transfer time is enough and how should i transfer. Thanks!

You will take the skylink train from your arrival terminal to terminal d where you will depart. It runs inside security. You have enough time if your first flight is on time.

Arriving from Cancun to Dallas FortWorth at 1:42pm. Next flight to L.A. is at 3:35pm. Is that enough time to go through customs to connect?

I will be flying from Mexico to Toronto, connecting in Dallas (with Delta). I think my luggage will go right through, without me having to recheck it in Dallas. Does anyone know if that's correct?

Yes, the AA procedure is that on an international to international connection through Dallas you do not have to claim your bags. You will still have to go through US Immigration and security though.

Thank you so much for that helpful information!!

am travelling from chennai to san antonio > Chenai > London > dallas or Chennai > frankfurt > Houston do I need a transit visa in London, frankfurt , dalls or houston for proceeding to SAN ANTONIO.

Assuming you are an Indian citizen, you will need a visitor Visa for the United States. Not a transfer Visa. For both London or Frankfurt you will need a transfer visa from those respective countries.

Hello, I am traveling to Guatemala from Colorado, with a connection in DFW. Do I need to claim my bags in DFW and then recheck them, or do I go directly to my international departure gate?

You do not have to do anything with your bags when leaving the US. You can just go directly to your departure gate.

I am flying from Calgary, Canada to Miami, Florida, has a 10 hours layover in Dallas, will my luggage be sent from Calgary to Miami directly? Just wonder if I have to drag my luggage around until the next morning for a 5 am connecting flight? Is there a higher chance of my luggage of being lost if it sits in the airport for 10 hours to the next connecting flight? Thanks

You should be able to have your bags sent to Miami, but check with the agent in Calgary.

If I am flying writhin the state of Texas, do I still need a passport?

You do not need a passport for any trip within the United States. However, you do need some sort of photo ID in order to get through security to board the aircraft.
