We are arriving TO DFW on American Airlines FROM Calgary Canada. We have 1 hour to make our connecting flight to STL- will that be long enough? Will we have to go through customs?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all terminals and gates inside security. You should have enough time.

We fly out of Sydney on Qantas to DFW, we have 86 mins to disembark go through customs and immigration and reboard our flight to Orlando. This is all on one ticket, our flight to Orlando was changed last month by my travel agent as the original dfw-orl flight was cancelled. She said American Airlines and Qantas have assured her it's enough time. I feel like it isn't. Is there a fast track process for people that are in this position?

That is less than the recommended minimum for an International to domestic connection at DFW. There is no fastrack for short connections at US Airports.

    Yes, that is enough time.

    Thank you

  • Coming to DWF on Etihad with connection to ATL

We have visitor's visa, final destination is Atlanta. Our port of entry is DFW. Flying Etihad - landing 4:25pm Terminal D; our connection is on AA to Atlanta - leaving 6:45pm. Does AA leave from the same terminal? What does the immigration process involve? Do we have enough time to make connection?

Actually, your point of entry is Abu Dhabi. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Abu Dhabi. In DFW all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate on the Skylink train which connects all terminals and gates inside security. You will arrive in Terminal D and depart from A, C, or D.

Thank you very much for your help!!

Traveling from DFW to IAH to FRA via Lufthansa. At which points will I have to go through passport control & customs?

You will go through Schengen Entry Passport control in Frankfurt. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.

Hello,we are a party of four flying to DFW via Las Vegas to connect a flight to Cancun. I have a layover of 1 hour 45 mins, will that be enough time to clear any airport security and customs. Will we have to collect our bags? We all have British Passports.

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in DFW on your way to Cancun is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all terminals and gates inside security.

I am arriving from Guadalajara Mexico and then onto New York I am traveling on American both flights. Do I have to collect my bags as well as go through immigration. Will I have to change terminals

You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate on the Skylink train.

I fly from Cancun into Dallas and have a 1 hour 48 minute layover before catching a flight to Canada. I change terminals but not sure of the numbers. Is this sufficient time?

You will arrive, go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security and take the skylink train to your departure terminal. You have barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

Hi I'm a visitor coming from NRT on flight AA 60 then connect to AUS on flight 2557, there is a 2 hours 45 mins in between flights, will that be enough to go through Immigration and US custom and recheck my bags? Is there a place to drop of my bags after US custom clearance or do I have to take my bags to The ticket counter to recheck my bags? This is my first time at DFW POA, I'm not sure if it like ORD. Thank You

Yes, that is enough time. Yes, there is a desk right after customs where you can re-check your bags. DFW is easier than ORD even though it is a bit bigger.

    Zap, Thank You very much

Hi I am arriving from the UK into DFW tomorrow Feb 13th then on to Tucson, Do I claim my bag after immigration, then drop it off. Is there a transfer bag point and where is it? Thanks for any help

Yes, in DFW you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate on the skylink train. The re-check desk is right after you clear customs.

    Thanks ZAP Really appreciate it!!

Flying from BWI to DFW to SYD--Will we need to collect baggage and re-check with Qantas in DFW? Or, will AA check our baggage straight through? Qantas flight is a codeshare with AA. Thanks.

You don't have to do anything with your bags in DFW on your way to Syndey. Just go from your arrival gate to your departure gate using the Skylink train.
