We are Flying from Toronto Canada to Dallas Fort Worth then onto Puerto Vallarta. Do we have to pick up a luggage and go through US customs in Dallas or will our Luggage Just go automatically through to Puerto Vallarta. As well do we pay Twice for luggage charges or only Once
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. If both flights are on American then all you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in DFW on the way to Puerto Vallarta.
Hi my family and I will be coming back from Puerto Vallarta to Illinois via DFW, will an hour and 1/2 layover be enough between flights so that we can clear customs in DFW and make it to our connection gate?
That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
I have to recheck my bags. If I land at 3:53, will I have time to get bags and recheck for 4:40 flight? They are two seperate tickets.
No, that's not enough time. Are both flights on AA?
Hi I'm a visitor coming from NRT on flight AA 60 then connect to AUS on flight 2557, there is a 2 hours 45 mins in between flights, will that be enough to go through Immigration and US custom and recheck my bags? Is there a place to drop of my bags after US custom clearance or do I have to take my bags to The ticket counter to recheck my bags?
This is my first time at DFW POA, I'm not sure if it like ORD.
Thank You
Yes, that is enough time. Yes, there is a desk right after customs where you can re-check your bags. DFW is easier than ORD even though it is a bit bigger.
Zap, Thank You very much
Hi I am arriving from the UK into DFW tomorrow Feb 13th then on to Tucson, Do I claim my bag after immigration, then drop it off. Is there a transfer bag point and where is it? Thanks for any help
Yes, in DFW you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate on the skylink train. The re-check desk is right after you clear customs.
Thanks ZAP Really appreciate it!!
Flying from BWI to DFW to SYD--Will we need to collect baggage and re-check with Qantas in DFW? Or, will AA check our baggage straight through? Qantas flight is a codeshare with AA. Thanks.
You don't have to do anything with your bags in DFW on your way to Syndey. Just go from your arrival gate to your departure gate using the Skylink train.
hi as a family we are visiting the usa for the first time. we are going to miami however we are flying from london to dallas and then an internal flight from dallas to miami 1 hour 55 minutes later where do we clear international customs dallas or miami if dallas is it sufficient time?
In Dallas you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate on the skylink train.
Hi, I am travelling Qantas from Sydney to Dallas then have to change to connecting flight with American airlines to get to orlando with baggage. Travel agent gave us 1.5hrs. Is this sufficient time and will we need to collect baggage and go through security again? From what I've been told American Airlines is an affiliate with Qantas so not sure about the baggage collection. Thankyou.
That is the bare minimum that this connection is possible. You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate on the Skylink train.
We are traveling DFW to Frankfurt, Fri, Dec 16 with luggage. Approximately how far in advance should we arrive at the airport prior to our flight?
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. You just have to check your bags and go through security. Arrive 90 minutes before the flight, 2 hours if you want to feel safe about it.
Hi, my friend is having a connection flight at DFW. She is coming in at Terminal B (Domestic) and will be taking the Sky link to Terminal D and flying international from D. She has 2 hours for this transit. I want to meet her at Terminal D outside. Will there be sufficient amount of time if she comes out of Terminal D and meets be and then again goes in via security to catch her international flight? Also, by which gate can she come out of security to meet me (D30)?
I really don't think that's enough time to meet you for any more than a very short period of time.
Is it possible to get a no fly gate pass at American Airlines check in? Its important that I meet her. Also is there a customer service number that I can talk to regarding gate pass for american ailrines Terminal D
No, those are no longer issued except to the parents of Unaccompanied Minors.
