Hi! I am flying with United from Newark to Denver and from Denver to Calgary. The connection lasts 40 min. Arrival and departure in the same terminal B. Do I understand it right that I am going through Canadian immigration in Calgary, not in Denver ? Do you think the connection time is okay? thanks

Yes, you go through Canadian Immigration in Calgary. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time. All United gates in Denver are on Concourse B.

  • 30 mins enough for domestic connection?

Dear forum members I have a 30 minute gap between 2 domestic United airlines flights. Reservation was done at united.com. Is it doable to catch my connection else I can cancel in the next few hrs. My domestic flight arrives at 4.42 pm at Denver on Tuesday, Dec 2,2014 and my connecting flight to another US city is at 5.16 pm. I am an adult traveling alone with no mobility issues. Please advise! Thank you for this wonderful forum

Yes, it is possible. All United gates at DEN are located on the B concourse.

    Thank you very much Zap!

  • Stoon to LAX with connection in Denver

We are flying out of Saskatoon, SK to LAX. We have a 1 hr 10 min connection time in Denver. Will we have to clear customs in Denver and Will we have to collect checked bags and re-check them in Denver?

I should have added, both flights are with United.

Yes, you will have to clear US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, recheck your bags, and go through security. Luckily when the Saskatoon flights arrive in Denver immigration is unlikely to be crowded, but it still leaves little to no spare time to make your connection.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the information though. We will have to be as quick as we can. We have a party of 5 with one of those people being disabled. Seems like it may be tough.

Well, it is technically an illegal connection and United does have lots of flights from DEN to LAX, so the airline should be obligated to rebook you onto a later LAX flight if you request it.

  • Flying intl. for the first time later this year

My family and I are taking an Alaskan cruise later this year. We fly out of Des Moines, IA (DSM), a layover in Houstan, TX (IAH) landing in Vancouver, BC (YVR). I know we'll go through Canadian customs and immigration in Vancouver for the trip out. The trip back is my concern. We fly from YVR to Denver, CO (DEN), then on to DSM. Am I understanding correctly that, since both flights of the return trip are on United, we pre-clear US customs in YVR, and don't have to pick up our luggage in DEN, and go through customs there?

Delta uses the Jeppesen Terminal, Concourse C, which has gates C28-39 & C40-49 on either side of the center. On arrival at DEN, simply look at overhead screens to find your connecting flight & gate number, then follow signs to your gate. As to pre-clearance at YVR, you are correct.

Please ignore sajun's nonsensical and incorrect "advice". Yes, you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver and do not have to do anything in DEN. Your arrival into DEN will be like a domestic flight. Both your arrival and departing flight will be on the B concourse at DEN.

    Thanks.

There will be no kiosks on the secure side. Just Check-in for your frontier flight on-line before you leave Florida.

  • Recheck bags in 1 hour?

I have a flight from Boise to Dallas connecting in Denver with a 1 hour layover. The first flight is on United. I have to recheck my bags to board my connecting flight on Frontier. Do I have time to recheck bags in 1 hour?

Arriving into Denver from PalmSprings at 9:09 a.m. then leaving for Cancun at 10:12 a.m. Both are United flights. What concourse would we land at and would we have to go through customers to catch our next flight to Cancun. Would there be enough time to get our connecting flight to Cancun

  • Is 1 hour long enough?

My husband and I will be flying in from Tucson on October 15 flight LH8953 and we have 1 hour from arrival till our next flight on LH0447 to Germany. Will we have enough time to make it?

You will go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, then re-check your baggage in the international terminal at ATL. Then there is a special security checkpoint that you go through that leads to the plane train that will take you to the concourse for your departing domestic flight.

  • 1:45 minute layover in Denver, customs then get on another United flig
    Jun 10, 2014

I am looking to book a flight from Regina, to Salt Lake City and the quickest and cheapest route takes me through Denver International Airport. I would have a 1:45 minute layover, both my flights would be with United, however I would have to go through US customs in Denver. It also looks like it will be hard to get all my luggage as carry on... will I have to get my bags or will they move them to the next plane for me? And will I have enough time? What would happen if I missed my flight? Thank you so much to anybody who can help in anyway!

Note that your first flight will be operated by United. You will arrive on concourse B and take the underground train to Concourse A where your Lufthansa flight will depart. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time. That is all you have to do (no security, nothing with baggage).

  • 45-60 min connection between airlines

I am flying from JAX on Delta and then connecting through DEN for my flight on Frontier. These are two separate tickets. Is this enough time and are there kiosks on the gate side of security where I could check in for the Frontier flight? I will have only a carry on bag.

  • enough time

I have a 44 min layover, arriving on United 1153 @ 9:11am and departing United 5190 @ 9:55. Is this in the same concourse and duable to make the connection?

You arrive & depart from the same Concourse B, which has gates B15 - B37 and B38 - B60 with extensions to both gates B80 - B95 and B59 - B79 on either side of the center. Your transfer time is sufficient.

  • Time for a smoke break?

I have a layover of 1 hour 45 min. between two United Airlines flights. Do I have time to go from concourse B to concourse C and back again.... I'm a smoker and I am wondering if I have time. Thank you!

Yes, if your first flight is on-time you should have enough time to go to concourse C, buy something to drink, have a smoke and go back to B. The underground train connects all concourses inside security.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Short connection 1 hr 5 min

We are flying Calgary - Denver and then Denver to Maui in August. The connection time is 1 hr 5 min. Any idea on if we need to change terminals and if this is doable? If we have checked luggage, do we have to claim our luggage once we land in Denver and then drop it off when heading to Maui?

At YYC go through US Customs Clearance; at Denver you won't need to re-check-in your bags (unless you bought two separate tickets for 2 airlines). Your arrival at & departure from depends on which airline(s) you use. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/den then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

Assuming both flights are on United. You will pre-clear US Immigration in Calgary. In Denver all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, which will both be on concourse B. You should have plenty of time if your first flight is on-time.

Yes, they are both on United. Thanks for your help as it's eased my mind on the short connection! So I assume then that my checked bags will have no problem getting moved over in time.

Both flights are on United so it seems I won't have any issues. Thx!

  • Terminal A to C - one hour connecting time
    May 8, 2014

Planning to fly Southwest from OAK to DEN on Friday morning arriving at 9:25am, one hour layover to AirTran to Cancun departing at 10:25am. I believe I have to get from terminal A to C. Is one hour cutting too close?

*will not have checked luggage Thank you!!

You will arrive in concourse C and likely depart from A (although you may also depart from C). All concourses are connected inside security by an underground train. If your first flight is on-time you should have plenty of time.

Great! Thank you for the information!
