Flying with Frontier from Vegas to Cancun with a 53 minute layover in Denver, is that enough time for checked luggage to be transferred?

  • Is 1 hour long enough?

My husband and I will be flying in from Tucson on October 15 flight LH8953 and we have 1 hour from arrival till our next flight on LH0447 to Germany. Will we have enough time to make it?

You will go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, then re-check your baggage in the international terminal at ATL. Then there is a special security checkpoint that you go through that leads to the plane train that will take you to the concourse for your departing domestic flight.

  • 1:45 minute layover in Denver, customs then get on another United flig

I am looking to book a flight from Regina, to Salt Lake City and the quickest and cheapest route takes me through Denver International Airport. I would have a 1:45 minute layover, both my flights would be with United, however I would have to go through US customs in Denver. It also looks like it will be hard to get all my luggage as carry on... will I have to get my bags or will they move them to the next plane for me? And will I have enough time? What would happen if I missed my flight? Thank you so much to anybody who can help in anyway!

Note that your first flight will be operated by United. You will arrive on concourse B and take the underground train to Concourse A where your Lufthansa flight will depart. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time. That is all you have to do (no security, nothing with baggage).

I am flying from JAX on Delta and then connecting through DEN for my flight on Frontier. These are two separate tickets. Is this enough time and are there kiosks on the gate side of security where I could check in for the Frontier flight? I will have only a carry on bag.

I have a 44 min layover, arriving on United 1153 @ 9:11am and departing United 5190 @ 9:55. Is this in the same concourse and duable to make the connection?

You arrive & depart from the same Concourse B, which has gates B15 - B37 and B38 - B60 with extensions to both gates B80 - B95 and B59 - B79 on either side of the center. Your transfer time is sufficient.

  • Time for a smoke break?

I have a layover of 1 hour 45 min. between two United Airlines flights. Do I have time to go from concourse B to concourse C and back again.... I'm a smoker and I am wondering if I have time. Thank you!

Yes, if your first flight is on-time you should have enough time to go to concourse C, buy something to drink, have a smoke and go back to B. The underground train connects all concourses inside security.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Short connection 1 hr 5 min

We are flying Calgary - Denver and then Denver to Maui in August. The connection time is 1 hr 5 min. Any idea on if we need to change terminals and if this is doable? If we have checked luggage, do we have to claim our luggage once we land in Denver and then drop it off when heading to Maui?

At YYC go through US Customs Clearance; at Denver you won't need to re-check-in your bags (unless you bought two separate tickets for 2 airlines). Your arrival at & departure from depends on which airline(s) you use. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/den then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

Assuming both flights are on United. You will pre-clear US Immigration in Calgary. In Denver all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, which will both be on concourse B. You should have plenty of time if your first flight is on-time.

Yes, they are both on United. Thanks for your help as it's eased my mind on the short connection! So I assume then that my checked bags will have no problem getting moved over in time.

Both flights are on United so it seems I won't have any issues. Thx!

  • Terminal A to C - one hour connecting time
    May 8, 2014

Planning to fly Southwest from OAK to DEN on Friday morning arriving at 9:25am, one hour layover to AirTran to Cancun departing at 10:25am. I believe I have to get from terminal A to C. Is one hour cutting too close?

*will not have checked luggage Thank you!!

You will arrive in concourse C and likely depart from A (although you may also depart from C). All concourses are connected inside security by an underground train. If your first flight is on-time you should have plenty of time.

Great! Thank you for the information!

Hello, i am flying from Mexico City to Vancouver via Denver (with a layover of 1h 21m.) Both flights are operated by United. Do I have enough time? Do I need to claim my bags and re-check them, or United will transfer them internally from one airplane to another? Thanks!

It should be enough time but doesn't leave much room for any delays. Yes, you will have to claim your bags after immigration, go through customs, and then re-check them with United.

We have a Swisspassport and booked United and will arrive 10:29 AM in Denver...Departure for Las Vegas is 11:38 AM. Do we have to collect our baggage? Do we have to do immigration at Denver? If so I assume there is not enough time for sure...do you agree? How to proceed

I suggest you open www.ifly.com/den, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text. (Look for 'International Arrivals' & details of the Jeppeson Terminal below it.

Where are you flying into Denver from? If it's an international flight you will have a tough time making your connection.

stupid me...forgot the start Airport: Calgary-Denver...arrivial 10:20 am Denver-Las Vegas...start 11:38am so same questions: Do we have to collect our baggage? Do we have to do immigration at Denver? If so I assume there is not enough time for sure...do you agree? THX for you help

You will pre-clear US Immigration in Calgary. All you have to do in Denver is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate which will both be on the B concourse. If your first flight is on-time you should have plenty of time.

Arriving in DEN on Icelandair and transferring to Southwest for PHX. Because we have checked bags and separate reservations for the 2 legs of the trip, please explain where/how to go to check in for the SW flight after customs.

You will have to go up to the departure level of the terminal and find the Southwest check-in counters. Everything is in one building. The Southwest counters are in East Ticketing on Level 6.

  • Connection through Denver

I will be arriving from Salt Lake City (Utah) on flight LH 9405 (operated by United) and departing for Frankfurt (Germany) on LH 447 for a final destination to Mumbai (India). I will have approximately 90 minutes connection time between the flights at Denver International Airport. I will be travelling on a business class ticket. My questions are 1. Considering that I will arrive at concourse B and leave from concourse A, will I have to go through security screening? If yes, shall I get a priority screening? 2. Will my check in luggage be booked through to my final destination and I will not have to re-check it at Denver International Airport? Thanks in advance for your help.

Concourses A and B are connected inside security by an underground train. Your bags will be checked through to Mumbai in SLC. All you have to do in Denver is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I am traveling from Montreal to Las Vegas with stopover of 50 min , arriving from Montreal with united ( operated by Air Canada),leaving to Las Vegas with United, is it Ok with 50 min to go to next flight an luggage to be transferred to next flight , I am Canadian ....Thanks

Use US customs clearance at Montreal Airport. You arrive & depart from the Jeppeson Terminal, but may arrive via Air Canada at Concourse A & depart with United at Concouse B - the underground AGTS train takes only 5 minutes between the two Concourses - no security check needed.

I am flying from DTW to Den on southwest and must change planes in Den to seattle. can anyone tell me what concourse southwest flight would come in at and how far is the connecting gate for southwest to change planes to seattle? are they both in the same concourse? I only have 40 minutes if all is on time?

Both flights will be on concourse C, which is not that large. If your first flight is on-time you will have enough time.
