  • Short connection 1 hr 5 min

We are flying Calgary - Denver and then Denver to Maui in August. The connection time is 1 hr 5 min. Any idea on if we need to change terminals and if this is doable? If we have checked luggage, do we have to claim our luggage once we land in Denver and then drop it off when heading to Maui?

At YYC go through US Customs Clearance; at Denver you won't need to re-check-in your bags (unless you bought two separate tickets for 2 airlines). Your arrival at & departure from depends on which airline(s) you use. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/den then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

Assuming both flights are on United. You will pre-clear US Immigration in Calgary. In Denver all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, which will both be on concourse B. You should have plenty of time if your first flight is on-time.

Yes, they are both on United. Thanks for your help as it's eased my mind on the short connection! So I assume then that my checked bags will have no problem getting moved over in time.

Both flights are on United so it seems I won't have any issues. Thx!

  • Terminal A to C - one hour connecting time

Planning to fly Southwest from OAK to DEN on Friday morning arriving at 9:25am, one hour layover to AirTran to Cancun departing at 10:25am. I believe I have to get from terminal A to C. Is one hour cutting too close?

*will not have checked luggage Thank you!!

You will arrive in concourse C and likely depart from A (although you may also depart from C). All concourses are connected inside security by an underground train. If your first flight is on-time you should have plenty of time.

Great! Thank you for the information!

Hello, i am flying from Mexico City to Vancouver via Denver (with a layover of 1h 21m.) Both flights are operated by United. Do I have enough time? Do I need to claim my bags and re-check them, or United will transfer them internally from one airplane to another? Thanks!

It should be enough time but doesn't leave much room for any delays. Yes, you will have to claim your bags after immigration, go through customs, and then re-check them with United.

We have a Swisspassport and booked United and will arrive 10:29 AM in Denver...Departure for Las Vegas is 11:38 AM. Do we have to collect our baggage? Do we have to do immigration at Denver? If so I assume there is not enough time for sure...do you agree? How to proceed

I suggest you open www.ifly.com/den, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text. (Look for 'International Arrivals' & details of the Jeppeson Terminal below it.

Where are you flying into Denver from? If it's an international flight you will have a tough time making your connection.

stupid me...forgot the start Airport: Calgary-Denver...arrivial 10:20 am Denver-Las Vegas...start 11:38am so same questions: Do we have to collect our baggage? Do we have to do immigration at Denver? If so I assume there is not enough time for sure...do you agree? THX for you help

You will pre-clear US Immigration in Calgary. All you have to do in Denver is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate which will both be on the B concourse. If your first flight is on-time you should have plenty of time.

Arriving in DEN on Icelandair and transferring to Southwest for PHX. Because we have checked bags and separate reservations for the 2 legs of the trip, please explain where/how to go to check in for the SW flight after customs.

You will have to go up to the departure level of the terminal and find the Southwest check-in counters. Everything is in one building. The Southwest counters are in East Ticketing on Level 6.

  • Connection through Denver

I will be arriving from Salt Lake City (Utah) on flight LH 9405 (operated by United) and departing for Frankfurt (Germany) on LH 447 for a final destination to Mumbai (India). I will have approximately 90 minutes connection time between the flights at Denver International Airport. I will be travelling on a business class ticket. My questions are 1. Considering that I will arrive at concourse B and leave from concourse A, will I have to go through security screening? If yes, shall I get a priority screening? 2. Will my check in luggage be booked through to my final destination and I will not have to re-check it at Denver International Airport? Thanks in advance for your help.

Concourses A and B are connected inside security by an underground train. Your bags will be checked through to Mumbai in SLC. All you have to do in Denver is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I am traveling from Montreal to Las Vegas with stopover of 50 min , arriving from Montreal with united ( operated by Air Canada),leaving to Las Vegas with United, is it Ok with 50 min to go to next flight an luggage to be transferred to next flight , I am Canadian ....Thanks

Use US customs clearance at Montreal Airport. You arrive & depart from the Jeppeson Terminal, but may arrive via Air Canada at Concourse A & depart with United at Concouse B - the underground AGTS train takes only 5 minutes between the two Concourses - no security check needed.

I am flying from DTW to Den on southwest and must change planes in Den to seattle. can anyone tell me what concourse southwest flight would come in at and how far is the connecting gate for southwest to change planes to seattle? are they both in the same concourse? I only have 40 minutes if all is on time?

Both flights will be on concourse C, which is not that large. If your first flight is on-time you will have enough time.

I am flying from San Diego to Edmonton on air canada/united on May 7 with a 45 min layover in Denver. Is this enough time to make it to my connection?

Yes, but it doesn't leave much time for delays. Since only United flies SFO-DEN and DEN-YEG, all your flights will be on United and all their flights at DEN use the B concourse.

Is 45 minutes enough time to connect from a United flight from SFO to Air Canada to Toronto on a Sunday morning? Thanks!

It should be enough time. You will arrive on the B concourse and depart on the A concourse - they are connected inside security by an underground train.

Hi, I am flying Frontier Air from Minneapolis to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and have 1 hr 6 min between flights. I am also flying Frontier to MX...will that be enough time (carry-on only), and do I have to go through immigration in Denver?

On your way to Cabo you will have plenty of time, you will not have to go through any immigration in Denver and all Frontier flights are on the same concourse close together. On the return is when you'll have to go through immigration in Denver and hopefully you have more time for your connection.

  • Cody to LAX - 45 min connecting time
    Mar 6, 2014

Looking at a United flight for first week of August from Cody, WY to LAX stopping in DEN for 45mins. Is that enough time? I'm also needing to book a flight from LAX to Sydney, Australia after that, so if it's likely I might not make the flight in DEN and need to be placed on a later United flight to LAX, I guess I may need to book the LAX-Sydney flight for the next day to be safe... Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks!

45 minutes is plenty of time for that connection if your first flight is on-time. All United and United Express flights in Denver are on the same concourse. If you miss your connection in LAX then United will accomodate you on the flight the next evening to Sydney. I wouldn't build in the extra day of travel unless you really want to spend an extra day in LA.

Hello, I'm traveling from Iceland to Las Vegas via Denver. I have 1h35min in Denver to clear immigration, customs, get my bag, check in and border. Is that do-able? Would it be better without a checked bag?

Yes, it's doable, but tough. It will be faster without a checked bag. If you can, check in for your flight to Denver before you leave Iceland. What airline are you flying from Denver to Las Vegas.

I am flying United from Denver

We arrive on a united flight from fort mcmurray and connect to cancun. We have 1 hour before the connecting departs. we arrive at concourse A with united. Do we have to pickup our bags or are they transferred for us.? Will we have time to go through customs and security?

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, and re-check them. Then go through security and take the underground train to Concourse B where your Cancun flight will depart. It will be very tight but if your flight from YMM is on-time you should be OK as there are very few if any international flights coming in that early in the morning.
