  • Toronto to Denver to Hawaii
    Nov 9, 2014
Flying Toronto to Hawaii with a one hour (exact) layover in Denver. Is that reasonable to get make the connecting flight to Hawaii? Or is it going to be too tight for time? All flights are with United. Thanks!

Yes, that should be enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Toronto. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate which will both be on the B Concourse

  • Two separate tickets with connection to Canada

I am flying from Atlanta on Frontier with a carry-on bag. I have an hour to get to the next flight on United to Vancouver BC. Will I have to go back through security, or can I go directly to the gate assuming I have a mobile boarding pass for the United flight.

You can go directly to your departure gate via the underground train.

hi im from saskatoon sk, i have a flight going to Tokyo japan but my first stop over is in Denver airport and i dont have us visa i only have a permanent resident card in canada. do i need to apply us visa to enter Denver even it is only a connecting flight?

What country are you a citizen of? If it's not a country eligible under the Visa Waiver Program you will have to apply for a transit visa.

  • Southwest 40 minute connection
    Oct 24, 2014
Flying Southwest through DEN on a Wednesday afternoon with a 40 minute connection. I've not flown through DEN before - are all of the Southwest gates located in the same terminal? Inbound flight is from Burbank/BUR so I'm hoping for less chance of a late arrival. I can run between gates for sure, just trying to scope out in advance how much time I might have. Thanks.

DEN only has one terminal and nearly all of Southwest's gates are on Concourse C. 40 minutes should be plenty of time if your first flight is on-time.

Thank you ZAP, really appreciate your response ! Feeling better now for sure.

ZAP or others, I saw on flightaware that the Southwest flight 3147 from DEN to JAX sometimes departs from an A concourse gate instead of a C gate. Any idea how soon the gates are assigned for the inbound and outbound flights? And, is the train/tram between concourses pretty quick if I end up flying out of an A gate? Thanks.

Gates are assigned the day of the flight. Yes, the train is quite fast. Should take less than 10 minutes if you happen to arrive or depart from A.

Thanks again ZAP - worked out great on outbound - both were C gates (into C46, out of C26), plus which we landed fifteen minutes early - more than enough time between. Thank you very much for helping me out with this !

  • Length Concourse B
    Sep 5, 2014
Arrive in Concourse B20 at 6:09pm (due to a canceled flight, and a delayed flight) and my transfer is at 6:35pm B52, is that enough time to walk? I know it's large airport in terms of sq footage, that enough time to walk or should I book it?

Yes, that should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. It's only about a 5-10 minute walk.

  • us can connection

Hi! I am flying with United from Newark to Denver and from Denver to Calgary. The connection lasts 40 min. Arrival and departure in the same terminal B. Do I understand it right that I am going through Canadian immigration in Calgary, not in Denver ? Do you think the connection time is okay? thanks

Yes, you go through Canadian Immigration in Calgary. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time. All United gates in Denver are on Concourse B.

  • 30 mins enough for domestic connection?
    Aug 16, 2014
Dear forum members I have a 30 minute gap between 2 domestic United airlines flights. Reservation was done at Is it doable to catch my connection else I can cancel in the next few hrs. My domestic flight arrives at 4.42 pm at Denver on Tuesday, Dec 2,2014 and my connecting flight to another US city is at 5.16 pm. I am an adult traveling alone with no mobility issues. Please advise! Thank you for this wonderful forum

Yes, it is possible. All United gates at DEN are located on the B concourse.

    Thank you very much Zap!

  • Stoon to LAX with connection in Denver
    Jul 22, 2014
We are flying out of Saskatoon, SK to LAX. We have a 1 hr 10 min connection time in Denver. Will we have to clear customs in Denver and Will we have to collect checked bags and re-check them in Denver?

I should have added, both flights are with United.

Yes, you will have to clear US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, recheck your bags, and go through security. Luckily when the Saskatoon flights arrive in Denver immigration is unlikely to be crowded, but it still leaves little to no spare time to make your connection.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the information though. We will have to be as quick as we can. We have a party of 5 with one of those people being disabled. Seems like it may be tough.

Well, it is technically an illegal connection and United does have lots of flights from DEN to LAX, so the airline should be obligated to rebook you onto a later LAX flight if you request it.

  • Flying intl. for the first time later this year
    Jun 25, 2014
My family and I are taking an Alaskan cruise later this year. We fly out of Des Moines, IA (DSM), a layover in Houstan, TX (IAH) landing in Vancouver, BC (YVR). I know we'll go through Canadian customs and immigration in Vancouver for the trip out. The trip back is my concern. We fly from YVR to Denver, CO (DEN), then on to DSM. Am I understanding correctly that, since both flights of the return trip are on United, we pre-clear US customs in YVR, and don't have to pick up our luggage in DEN, and go through customs there?

Delta uses the Jeppesen Terminal, Concourse C, which has gates C28-39 & C40-49 on either side of the center. On arrival at DEN, simply look at overhead screens to find your connecting flight & gate number, then follow signs to your gate. As to pre-clearance at YVR, you are correct.

Please ignore sajun's nonsensical and incorrect "advice". Yes, you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver and do not have to do anything in DEN. Your arrival into DEN will be like a domestic flight. Both your arrival and departing flight will be on the B concourse at DEN.

There will be no kiosks on the secure side. Just Check-in for your frontier flight on-line before you leave Florida.

  • Recheck bags in 1 hour?
    Jun 17, 2014
I have a flight from Boise to Dallas connecting in Denver with a 1 hour layover. The first flight is on United. I have to recheck my bags to board my connecting flight on Frontier. Do I have time to recheck bags in 1 hour?

  • Is 1 hour enough
    Jun 16, 2014
Arriving into Denver from PalmSprings at 9:09 a.m. then leaving for Cancun at 10:12 a.m. Both are United flights. What concourse would we land at and would we have to go through customers to catch our next flight to Cancun. Would there be enough time to get our connecting flight to Cancun

  • Will my luggage make it?
    Jun 14, 2014
Flying with Frontier from Vegas to Cancun with a 53 minute layover in Denver, is that enough time for checked luggage to be transferred?

  • two separate tickets, changing concours
    Jun 10, 2014
my Frontier flight arrives at 2:31 MDT and my United flight to Pueblo leaves at 3:32. it looks like i need to change concourses, how much hassle is that? do i have enough time? can i just check in at the gate on United? please advise thanks

  • Is 1 hour long enough?
    Jun 17, 2014
My husband and I will be flying in from Tucson on October 15 flight LH8953 and we have 1 hour from arrival till our next flight on LH0447 to Germany. Will we have enough time to make it?

You will go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, then re-check your baggage in the international terminal at ATL. Then there is a special security checkpoint that you go through that leads to the plane train that will take you to the concourse for your departing domestic flight.

  • 1:45 minute layover in Denver, customs then get on another United flig
    Jun 10, 2014
I am looking to book a flight from Regina, to Salt Lake City and the quickest and cheapest route takes me through Denver International Airport. I would have a 1:45 minute layover, both my flights would be with United, however I would have to go through US customs in Denver. It also looks like it will be hard to get all my luggage as carry on... will I have to get my bags or will they move them to the next plane for me? And will I have enough time? What would happen if I missed my flight? Thank you so much to anybody who can help in anyway!

Note that your first flight will be operated by United. You will arrive on concourse B and take the underground train to Concourse A where your Lufthansa flight will depart. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time. That is all you have to do (no security, nothing with baggage).
