  • just 38 mins for transfer at Denver
    Mar 17, 2015
Hi there, flying from Las Vegas to Calgary, stop in Denver just for 38 mins, is it enough to transfer from AC 5050 to AC 5202. It should be Air Canada operated by United, are they waitng for each other? thanks a lot

Your second flight likely will not wait for you. However, if your first flight is on-time you should have enough time. All United flights at DEN are in the B concourse and it shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes to get between gates.

thanks for quick answer! do I suppose corrctlu that I go through the security before my first flight in Las Vegas and in Denver I dont need to go "outside" or take care about my luggage?

Correct, you will go through security in Las Vegas and only need to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Denver. You will go through Canadian immigration and customs when you get to Calgary.

  • Time to go from Terminal B to A
    Mar 17, 2015
Looking at flights right now. All options give only 1h 15min layover. We'd be coming in on United and leaving on Great Lakes Airlines. Is that long enough to get from Terminal B to Terminal A (will be traveling with a 7 month old).

A and B are concourses, not Terminals. They are connected inside security by an underground train. Your connection should take less than 15 minutes.

I have a 2.5 hour layover in DEN between 2 southwest flights. 1) Is it possible to get from concourse C to concourse A to use the admirals club, 2) how long does it take to get between the two concourses, and 3) will I have to go through security again to get back to concourse C? Thanks for your help.

The train connects all concourses inside security. It takes less than 10 minutes to get between them.

Thanks ZAP, replying from the admirals club now.

  • 40 Minutes Enough?
    Mar 16, 2015
I am flying from Fresno CA (FAT) to Toronto with Delta Airlines all the away with a 40 minutes layover in Denver, is that enough time to catch the flight to Toronto?

    The airline is actually United

Yes, that should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. All Delta flights are on the B concourse at DEN and all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

    Sorry, all United flights

I am flying from Santa Barbara with 30 minutes to catch a flight to New Orleans will I make it

    Test again

If both flights are on United and your first flight is on-time that should barely be enough time. All United gates are in Concourse B.

  • 1st time flying to Denver from EWR in SWA
    Mar 12, 2015
My husband and I are flying Southwest with 1 hr 40 mins layover then Boarding another Southwest flight to San Diego. Is there enough time to go from 1 Concourse to another Concourse with 3 kids, ages 6.5, 4, 2 with stroller? Thanks

Oh, on which Concourse do Southwest arrive and depart from?

Southwest arrives and departs from Concourse C

All Southwest flights arrive and depart from the same concourse, so there is no need

    to switch concourses

All Southwest flights are on Concourse C. You should have plenty of time.

  • arriving from chicago connecting to sacramento

I am flying SWA with an hour and half layover, then boarding SWA to Sacramento. Are the gates within walking distance?

Yes, you all gates at DEN are connected inside security. You will have plenty of time.

Travelling on Wed from Toronto YYZ to Denver and then connecting to Sacramento. Where is the connecting gate and is 1 hour long enough to get from arrival gate to departure gate? First time traveller never flown. Is it difficult?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All gates in Denver are connected inside security and all United gates are on the B concourse. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have plenty of time.

Thanks very much that sounds pretty clear

Honestly, it'll be my first time to fly from Omaha to Denver.. I never been to Denver Airport before

    So what is your question?

Sorry about that, I thought my question was already posted.. I will fly to Denver from Omaha on March 27th

Yes, that is a statement, not a question. What is your question?

  • 50 minute connection time arriving from Edmonton,AB
    Mar 6, 2015
We would arrive AC4243 from Edmonton,Alberta (YEG) and have 50 minutes until our connection AC5385 to SNA. Is this enough time for a family of 6? Do we need to collect baggage and go through customs first?

Note that both flights will be operated by United. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Edmonton. All you have to do in Denver is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Both on the B Concourse. You have enough time.

Hi, I'm travelling from London to Denver on BA and wish to connect up to Edmonton. There is a 50 mins connection time. Would that be sufficient? thanks for any tips or advice

I think you will have a hard time clearing US Customs (because you are arriving on an international flight) and making it your next flight in time for boarding. You probably need at least 90 minutes.

No, that is not sufficient. You will have to go through US Immigration and customs in Denver and if you are buying a separate ticket, you will also have to claim your bags and take them to the United check-in counter. You need at LEAST 2 hours for this connection.

Thanks for your help. I'll look at plan B

    Thanks for your help

  • Connecting Flight times
    Feb 19, 2015
I am looking into flights from Boston to Rapid City, SD with United. One flight has one stop with a layover of only 33 minutes in Denver. From Denver I would be on Republic Airlines d/b/a United Express. I am concerned that I would not have enough time between flights. Am I right to be concerned?

In Denver, a 33 minute connection is possible. All United gates are on concourse B. Also, the Republic-operated flights in Denver are often delayed so that may even work in your favor.

So I have a short connection, 50 minutes, arriving from Fort Lauderdale 10.25 and departing for Calgary 11.15 . Departing gate B60. Will I have enough time? Any advices of how to do this as fast and non stressful as possible for a pretty inexperienced traveller? Thanx.

    Thursday 19th

All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If your first flight is anywhere close to on-time you should have plenty of time. You will go through Canadian immigration and customs when you get to Calgary.

  • DEN - LAX - DEN - FRA
    Feb 15, 2015
Dear all, I already have a return ticket for FRA-DEN by LH. I would like to fly from DEN to LAX for a couple of days. In this context, I have a couple of questions and I would really appreciate your help. (i) For the domestic flight DEN - LAX: How much earlier to arrive at DEN for convenient check-in (baggage&carry-on)? (ii) Which airline would you recommend for the domestic flight? Which is rather on-time usually? (iii) The return flight to FRA in DEN departs 5:25 pm. Hoch much time allowance do you recommend for easy connecting between the flights keeping in mind that I have to get my luggage from the domestic flight and check-in for the LH flight? Last but not least although off-topic: How much earlier to arrive at LAX for the domestic flight LAX-DEN? Thank you very much in advance for your help!

For your DEN-LAX domestic flight, arriving an hour before your flight is usually sufficient. Note that means being in the lobby an hour before the flight. If you need to park or return a rental car first, factor that in. Most DEN-LAX flights run on-time as the weather is generally good in both cities. Note that if you fly Frontier you will have to pay for a checked OR carry-on bag and a seat assignment. If you fly Southwest, checked bags are free but there are no seat assignments. Southwest also has the most congested check-in area in LAX. I personally would fly United but if you're comfortable and used to ULCC's in Europe, Frontier would suit you fine. I personally dont't like flying Southwest and American offers few flights on the route. I would recommend scheduling your arrival into DEN prior to 2:30 PM - that leaves you a little wiggle room if your first flight is late. Again, arriving at the airport in LAX an hour before your flight is OK, but also note that the traffic around LAX can be really bad and that the traffic in the entire LA area can be really bad at times, so be conscious of that.

ZAP, Thank you so much for your comprehensive reply! I am also considering to fly United, at least for the return flight, since it appears to be more reliable than the Low Cost Carriers. Let's say, I have not read many frantic reviews on Frontier and Spirit Airlines with regard to being on-time respectively with regard to cancelling flights last minute without reasons. Haven't researched on Southwest yet. I would not mind the lack of seat assignment but need some certainty on their "as scheduled" reliability. Certainly, I have to make my way back to Denver as scheduled to catch that LHflight. Will keep your recommendations in mind! If you have anything further to add, feel free to comment ;-)
