Hi is 92 minutes enough to do a transfer from I to D (both operated by Delta). I am a NON-US citizen

What airport? Where are you flying from and to?

    AMS => DTW => MCO

You will arrive in the McNamara Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, go through security, and go to your departure gate, which is in the same terminal. You have enough time if your flight from Amsterdam is on-time.

We're booked on Delta 1698 from SF arriving at 4:39 for a transfer to Rome on Air France (Operated by Delta) AF 3591 at 5:54. Is this enough time in July, 7/15? Thank you!!!

Yes., that should be plenty of time to make your transfer. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

My family and I will be arriving on a United flight and connecting to a Delta flight. We have two hours to collect our baggage, check in with Delta and go through security...is less than two hours enough time?

What airport? Is your United flight international or domestic?

Detroit airport and our United flight is domestic...thanks!

It will be tough because you will have to change Terminals between the North Terminal and the McNamara Terminal. They are only connected by a shuttle bus which runs infrequently.

My daughter is traveling on Air France flight from Austin to Detroit Flight 5639 and has only 40 minutes to catch Air France Flight from Detroit to Paris Flight 377 at 8:55 pm on May 27. Will she be okay and does she have to claim her checked bag first and re-check it?

Please note that her first flight will be operated by Delta. You won't find an Air France counter in Austin. All she has to do in Detroit is walk from her arrival gate to her departure gate. Both in the McNamara Terminal.

Awesome - this site is incredible - she is first time flying alone so trying to get a heads up on this - thanks

I will be flying Nashville to London via Detroit Wayne County on Virgin/Delta. 1st question...is this the same airport as DTW? 2nd....would 1hr 4mins be enough time to make the connection given I will be travelling on my own with my 16 month old. Would I have to change terminals? Thanks

Yes, Detroit only has one airport with commercial service, DTW> Yes, this is enough time. No you will not have to change terminals. All Delta flights at DTW are located in the McNamara terminal and connected inside security. All you have to do in DTW is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I will be travelling back from O'hare, Chicago to Manila, Philippines, with a 1 hr stopover in Detroit. All via Delta. WOuld 1 hour be safe enough to catch the plane to Manila? Do i have to pass thru immigration in Detroit and re-check in my bags? Thanks.

Yes, that should be enough time. you do not go through US Immigration when leaving the US. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

thanks! this is such a helpful site!

I have a flight in July from Providence to LAX with a 50 min layover in Detroit. I have heard that the McNamara terminal is a mile long. Is that enough time between flights? Thanks

Yes, that is enough time. If your gates are far apart there is a train that has 3 stops in the length of the terminal and there are moving walkways throughout the terminal.

  • Detroit to Incheon

My domestic flight from Indianapolis will arrive at Detroit at 2:50PM and my international flight to Incheon is at 3:33 PM. Is 43 minutes enough of a layover? If I miss the Incheon flight, what's going to happen?

It is enough time if your flight from Indianapolis is on-time. All Delta gates at DTW are connected inside security. If you miss your connection you will probably be stuck in Detroit overnight. The Detroit-Seoul flight is pretty much the last flight of the day to Seoul from the entire US. Your only other option for rebooking would be through Los Angeles and then on the 11:30 PM Korean Airlines flight to Seoul.

I am traveling from Pellston airport and arrive at Detroit airport I arrive at Detroit airport for 445pm, my next flight is at 633pm (1 hour 50 later) will this be enough time to claim my bags and re-check in? the flights are both through delta (2nd air france) but have been not been booked together.

Yes, that should be plenty of time. However, if you show your second booking to the agent in Pellston, they could be able to join your bookings together and check your bags through to your final destination.

Hello, I am arriving in Detroit from LA then making an international connection to Toronto all through DELTA. Do I have to claim my baggage in Detroit before my international flight, or will it go through to my final destination if checked through?

No, you do not have to claim your baggage in Detroit. All you have to do in Detroit is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will go through Canadian Immigration and customs when you get to Toronto.

I am flying to Seoul on June 19. I booked a 12.45 pm flight that drives in Detroit at 2.14 pm. My next flight leaves at 3.42 pm. Both flights are Delta. Does this give me enough time to get on the next flight, because a little panic is starting to set in.

Yes, that should be plenty of time. All Delta flights in Detroit are in the McNamara Terminal.

That's good to know. Thank you for your quick response.
