I'm flying into DTW landing at North terminal on American at 11:02 am My connecting flight is at McNamara Terminal on Delta Express to Pellston leaving at 12:15 pm. Is ther anyway to make that connection even if I carry my bag on?
With a carry on you might have a chance if you catch the shuttle bus perfectly, but it'll be very difficult.
Hi, I am a Korean citizen who needs to fly from Seoul to Houston via Detroit airport on August 10. I am using Delta and have a 2:10 layover in Detroit. I am a bit worried whether I have enough time to go through immigration, claim my bags, and recheck them again.
That should be enough time. Detroit is an easy airport to make a connection at.
I will be traveling from AMS to DTW with 1 hour and 45 mins of layover time. Is this enough time to clear customs, catch the bus, re-check my bags and make my flight as long as the flight departs AMS on time? Thanks for your help in advance.
What airline are you flying out of DTW? DTW does not have separate international and domestic terminals - you should not have to take a bus. If both flights are on Delta you have enough time.
I would be flying Delta in and out. I'm a little confused when looking at the layout of the airport. It's my first time flying in there also. I'm used to flying in and out of ATL but wanted to try something new. One other question... So, flying in and out on Delta would I have to re-check my bags?
Yes, both of your flights will be in the McNamara Terminal. You will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate.
Sounds pretty painless and from what I have seen on previous post is that Immigration and Customs is pretty quick around mid morning. The flight will either be mid Sept or the end of Sept. Not 100% right now. Thanks for your help and the quick responses.
I am wondering if 48 minutes is enough time for a layover flight. I am flying from Nashville to Detroit with a 48 Minute layover until my connecting flight to Minneapolis leaves. Any help would be appreciated.
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, which shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes.
I will be having a 1h30mins layover at DTW. I will be arriving from NRT and flying to MDW. Will it be enough time to clear my student visa/visitor passport and re-check in?
You will already be checked in for both flights. in DTW you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security. You should have just enough time if your flight from Tokyo is on-time.
