  • 50min for an international connection in Detroit
    Apr 20, 2015
Hi, I am travelling from Milwaukee to Paris the 29th of May, with a layover of 50min in Detroit. Both flights are performed by AirFrance (AF 2137 and AF0377). Will I have enough time to get to my next flight? Will I have to go through the security again (I'm french)? And do I have to claim my bags in Detroit and re-check them for the flight to Paris? Thanks.

Note that your first flight is on Delta Air Lines (You won't find an Air France check-in counter in Milwaukee). All you have to do in Detroit is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate which will both be in the McNamara Terminal. Nothing with your baggage and no security. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

is 30 min enough time to get from get A64 to A6 at DTW?

Yes, there is a train from one end of the A concourse to the other that can get you there in less than 10 minutes. It obviously leaves little time to spare if the first flight is delayed.

4/16/15 We arrive in Detroit at 2:50pm and depart at 3:30pm for Minneapolis on Delta. Is that enough time to make the connection?

Yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time and domestic. All Delta gates at DTW are connected inside security.

I have an international flight from Amsterdam to Madison with connection in Detroit. Is 1h 20min enough to go through СBP inspection and go to gate? What should I do with the baggage?

You will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. 80 minutes is 10 minute shorter than the recommended time but I think you have a good chance of making it as DTW is not a highly congested airport.

  • MHT-ICN 47 min layover at DTW
    Apr 9, 2015
Hello, we're a family of 4 and would like to book a MHT-ICN flight via Delta flight #'s 3527 & 159. Could you please tell me which concourses we'll encounter, and if 47 mins is enough time to connect (assuming first flight is on time)? Thank you! :)

You could arrive in concourse A, B, or C and you will depart from Concourse A. B and C are connected to A by an underground tunnel with a moving walkway. It's a very simple connection. You will make that connection if your flight from MHT is on-time.

I am flying into Detroit May 8 on Delta 1700 and connecting to Delta 3900 in 41 minutes, is there enough time?

That should be enough time, but I suggest you double check your flight numbers. I show that on May 8, 2015, Delta 1700 is an Atlanta-Boston flight and Delta 3900 is a Pittsburgh-Detroit flight.

  • UK to DTW connecting through to MCO - all Delta
    Apr 9, 2015
Got an offer with a 2hr 15mins connection Family of 4 and obviously will have to go through immigration Is this enough time? How tight could it be?

That should be enough time. DTW is a very simple and generally uncongested airport.

Thanks - Even with the time it takes to clear US Immigration?

  • ICN to BOS via DTW
    Mar 30, 2015
I am arriving at DTW from Seoul, before connecting to a domestic flight to Boston. Is a 1hr50min connection enough time to go through US immigration and take my bags through customs before the next flight?

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • YYZ to SEA via DTW, 55min layover
    Mar 18, 2015
I'm flying from YYZ to SEA via DTW with all Delta airlines. I will taking Delta 5309 from YYZ to DTW and Delta 1282 from DTW to SEA. Is the time of 55min for the layover enough time to me? Do I need to claim baggage in DTW?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Detroit is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Nothing with baggage. You have enough time.

  • 1.25 connecting time
    Mar 18, 2015
I'm a non US citizen, and I have 1.25 connecting time from an international flight to a domestic flight, in the EM terminal. Do you believe it is enough ? Thanks in advance for your reply. Rgs

That is 5 minutes below the recommended time but you should be OK if your first flight is on-time.

My son will be traveling in the unaccompanied minor program connecting through Detroit. He arrives on flight 4726 and has 40 minutes to get on flight 6292. Is that enough time?

That should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. It leaves very little time to spare if it is not.

  • Domestic to international, is 51 minutes long enough?
    Mar 2, 2015
Will fly in DTW in a small Delta plane and connect to Delta international flight. Is 51 minutes long enough to make the connection? Thanks!

Yes, that should be enough time as long as the first flight is on-time.

  • what happens if missed connection
    Mar 2, 2015
my connection is 35 min. i know it's very tight and no room for delays. i'm praying it arrives on time and i run but what if my first delta flight is delayed. will delta ensure i am placed on a later flight?

You will be placed on the next available flight. However, due to schedules the next available flight may either require an overnight stay in Detroit or an additional connection.

thanks! how much time does it take to get from terminal C to terminal A. Hypothetically Gate C27 to Gate A60

C and A are just two concourses in the McNamara Terminal. It would take no more than 15 minutes to get between them. The gates at the far end of C are no longer used BTW.

  • Delta to Endeavor gates. First time teen flyer, 51 mins?
    Feb 28, 2015
I know that Endeavor is Delta's regional partner, and that they are both in McNamara terminal. How difficult is it to get from a Delta gate to an Endeavor gate? Layer is 51 minutes, 16yo first time flyer. Thanks!

Yes, that should be enough time. just follow the signs between gates. All gates in the McNamara terminal can be reached within 15 mins.
