We are coming from Syracuse NYon Friday at 8am with a 30 minute connection to Los Angeles at 8:30. Do we have enough time/

Yes, that is enough time if your first flight is on-time, but you will have to hurry to your departure gate.

Arriving from London Heathrow into DTW at 13:30 on Thursday in January. Then connecting to Indianapolis at 15:20. Will that be enough time? What are my options if I miss the connecting flight?

Yes, that should be enough time. if you miss your connection due to the first flight being late you will be booked on the next flight to Indianapolis. There is a 17:33 flight and a 20:18 flight.

We are coming from Schiphol Amsterdam with KL6051 and going to New Orleans with KL5702 both operated by Delta. Do we have to change terminal and do we have enough time with customs and immigration.

Both flights are in the McNamara Terminal. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

Looking to fly in May from LHR to Kansas City via Detroit. Suggested Delta route has 1 hour 40 minute at airport. Is this sufficient time for immigration and customs with 2 adults and 3 children? Flight from Detroit to Kansas is at 1530 - I think there is another flight later - if I miss the 1530 is it likely all 5 of us will fir on next flight

Yes, that should be enough time if the flight from London is on-time.

I will be arriving in Detroit at 6am, but my ride can't get me until 9 or 10. Is there a way to return to the little shops and all in the McNamara terminal (I'm flying delta) once I've picked up my bag in baggage claim? Or will I have to wait around in baggage claim?

You'll have to wait in the baggage claim. You won't be able to go back through security.

I am trying to book a flight through DTW on Delta and it only has a 34 minute layover. Is that enough time if flying Delta all the way? TVC to DTW to DCA. Early morning.

That's enough time if your flight from Traverse City is on-time. If you miss your connection Delta does have a noon flight to DCA from DTW.

    Thanks!

  • Is 44 min enough for a domestic connection?

I'm flying SFO-DTW-DCA. Will 44 min be a sufficient amount of time, no checked luggage? Flying DL.

Yes that is enough time if your first flight is on-time. Both flights will be on the A concourse of the McNamara terminal.

My girlfriend and I are flying out of DTW. She is on Southwest I am Delta. Can I go through security with her? If I can, do I need to go through again when I get to my terminal?

No. Those are two completely separate terminals on opposite sides of the airport.

Hi, I am an international student flying from buffalo to Thailand on the 21st of this month and have a transit at the Detroit wayne county airport and I only have 52 minutes to change flight. Will it be an enough time to transit and do I have to re-check my bags or have to go through any immigration? Thank you

All you have to do in Detroit is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US Immigration when leaving the US. You won't have to do anything with your bags until you get to Thailand. You have enough time.

I will be arriving from Amsterdam on KLM and then connecting to little rock with only 2h20m on Christmas day. will that be enough time and will i have to go through security again.

That should be enough time. You will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time. Christmas day is not a busy travel day.

I am flying back to the states, KLM/Delta from DXB-CDG-DTW, once I land in Detroit will I have to pull my bags and re-check them like I do in ATL? Its been a few years since I have flown back into the states via DTW. Thank you

Are you connecting onwards from Detroit (you don't say you are)? If so yes, in Detroit you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

Hi all, I am flying in to Detroit from Pittsburgh, arriving at 7:07 on Endeavor Airlines, then out again at 8:22 on Delta to Memphis. Are these airlines in the same area? I use a cane and will be hobbling, so it's not like I can sprint to the gates. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, both are Delta flights. Both will be on the A Concourse of the McNamara Terminal. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. if your flight from Pittsburgh is anywhere close to on-time you'll have plenty of time.

Thanks so much! That's a load off my mind.

  • Connection to London from Orlando

Hi, we are looking at flying home from Orlando to London Heathrow via Detroit next August 24th. The flight gets in to DTW at 16:44 and the Virgin flight to London leaves at 17:50. Is this enough time to connect? (I understand my bags are taken straight to the next plan) Is there a later flight if we miss this one? Thanks Michael

Yes, that should be enough time as all you have to do in Detroit is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Schedules for August are far from final now, however, it's very likely that there will be a later Delta flight from Detroit to London that you can be rebooked on if your flight from Orlando is late.

    thank you

  • long enough? pre-clearance options?

Flight from LHR to DTW on Virgin arr 13.30 transit to Orlando dep 15.20 Delta. Will we be pushed for time? is there any way transit passengers can be hurried through clearances requied? are there any ways we can aid speed- like any pre-clearance options? and finally, what happens if we do miss the connecting flight? Virgin and Delta have merged i thought so i hope they would ust put us on the next flight? sorry so many questions! thanks. Fay

That is enough time. You don't need to be "hurried" and most passengers on your flight will be in transit. There is no pe-clearance in London. Virgin and Delta are not "merged" but they are alliance partners. If you do miss your connection because your Virgin flight is delayed you will be rebooked on the next available Delta flight to Orlando free of charge. But as long as your Virgin flight is on-time you should have plenty of time.
