Hi,
I am traveling from PVG (Shanghai) to SDF (Louisville). My flights are with Delta and connection to SDF is SkyWest DBA Delta. Is 1hr 50mins layover in Detriot enough to clear immigration, baggage collection, customs, transfer to domestic departure to re-check-in? Also, how do I go to domestic departure hall for re-check-in?
Thanks
Yes, that is enough time. You will be checked into both flights. There are no separate domestic and international departure halls. After you clear customs you can go straight to security and to your departure gate.
Hi, I am flying from Columbus to Detriot and then to Shanghai. I have a layover in Detriot that is only 50 min and all of my flights are with Delta. Will I have enough time to go through customs and do I need to recheck my bag in DTW since I am getting on an international flight?
There is no US customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Detroit on your way to Shanghai is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
Hi , my sister is coming from Paris to Miami via Air France , layover in DTW 1H45 min then Delta to Miami ,is the connection in the same terminal ? does she have to clear customs and pick up luggage and recheck it again ? is 1h45 min enough to do all that ? Thank you
Yes, both flights are on the McNamara Terminal. She will go through US Immigration, claim her bags, go through US Customs, re-check her bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to her departure gate. That is enough time if everything goes smoothly.
We will be traveling from Providence RI to cancun Mexico. We have a 1 hour layover in DTW. Our connection is throught Aeromexico. Do we have to reclaim our bags and check them in again? Will this be enough time?
If both flights are on the same reservation you don't have to do anything with your bags in Detroit on the way to Cancun - just go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.
Flying TVC to DTW to DFW have 39 minutes to make connection and 38 minutes on return flight.
Is that enough time? And says connections are Skywest DBA Delta and Republic DBA Delta - are these all in McNamara terminal?
That is enough time if the first flights are on-time. Yes, all those flights are in the McNamara Terminal.
Hi

I am a Canadian citizen. I am travelling from Montreal to Milwaukee, connecting in Detroit, next Fall (on a Saturday). My connection time is 1h01. Is it enough? Also, are we going through customs in Montreal or in Detroit, and are baggage checked throughout or do we have to pick them up in Detroit? I am flying with Delta. Kind regards, Simon
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. All you have to do in Detroit is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
I have a 1hour Layover in Detriot. I am coming from Canada...is 1 hour enough to make through immigration? I am US citizen and no checked bags. Thank you!
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Canada. All you have to do in Detroit is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate if both flights are on the same reservation. You have enough time.
Arriving AMS on Delta and leaving for Orlando on Delta. Delta have given us 1hr 48 min to make the connection. Anything we can do to prepare or help to have more chance to make the connection? Thanks. Kevin
Yes, that is enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I am picking someone up tomorrow who is flying Frontier. Do I need to go to McNamara terminal to pick them up? Thank you!
No, Frontier uses the North Terminal.
Thank you!
We are a family from the UK travelling to the States for the first time. We have ESTA approval can we use the automated passport control? I read somewhere that you couldn't if it is your first visit. Any advice?
That is correct. You cannot use the APC if it is your first time entering the US on ESTA.
