  • DELTA 44min layover DTW to YQB
    Sep 12, 2012

We are flying nationally from Las Vegas to DTW on Delta in October 2012..we Have a 44 min layover to make our flight to Quebec..Is this enough time? Might be Delta Connections or Pinnacle not sure since Delta has not given information on connecting flight yet. Is this enough Time to make flight to Quebec and find the right terminal etc? Thank You

at DTW Airport Delta uses the McNamara terminal. On arrival look at overhead screen to find your Quebec connection (flight number & gate): Councourses & Gates: Concourse A, reached from level 2, has 1.5 miles of moving walkways . Additionally, the Express Tram stops at the South station near gate A11, the Terminal station in the center near the water feature, and the North station near gate A67. Concourse A has to the left gates A38-A1; to the right gates A40-78, and at its center the tunnel connecting to Concourse B to the left and Concourse C to the right. Concourse B at right has gates B1-21on opposite sides. Concourse C at left has C1 through C43 on opposite sides. An elevator between Concourses B & C leads to the Lower Level gates C1 to C7.

Arriving on Delta Flt 57 from London connecting with Delta Flt 5149 to DC. Whish Terminal & Gates do I arrive and depart from? How do I get from one to the other?

    1. All international arrivals need to go through passport control, pick up luggage & go through customs clearance, then re-check-in bags for connecting flight. I cannot give you the gate number you arrive at /depart from; however, you will arrive at the McNamara Terminal at either Concourses A, B or C, which have corresponding gates. 2. Concourse A, reached from level 2, has 1.5 miles of moving walkways . Additionally, the Express Tram stops at the South station near gate A11, the Terminal station in the center near the water feature, and the North station near gate A67. What is Terminal EM. Cannot find it on the terminal map

DTW Airport has a North Terminal and the McNamara Terminal. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/dtw and click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down to the detailed text.

  • How to get from B19 to A8?
    Sep 5, 2012

We have a 42 minute layover to get from gate B19 TO Gate A8. How do I get from the B concourse to the A terminal? Are they on different levels? How long do you think it would take to walk (with a 2-year-old in a stroller)? Any help would be appreciated!

Upon arrival at DTW, McNmara Terminal, Concourse A, gate A8, take either: the Express Tram at Gate A11; gett off at the Terminal Station located at the Water Feature between gates A38-40. You need to take the tunnel there to get to Concourse B/C (B to the left - first gate B1, 3,5,7,11,15 & B19. - OR- use the moving walkways at Concourse A up to gate A38 and then take the same tunnel to your B gate. 40 mins should be plenty for you.

I'm going from b19 TO a6. Any chance you can reverse that for me? :)

What do the different colors, followed by numbers mean in Security wait times chart?

  • How many minutes from gate to gate

How long will it take a slow-ish walker to get from C6 to C30?

This is the layout of Concourse C at DTW: Concourse C serves American Airlines; at left leads gates C8 through C43. These gate areas are arranged in five clusters, four of which have three gates on each side, the last cluster has gates C32-43. An elevator between Concourses B & C leads to the Lower Level gates C1 to C7. - As you can see you arrive on the lower level and need to take the elevator up, then proceed to the cluster with gate 30. Impossible to give you connecting time.

  • Time to walk from A47 to A75?
    Aug 18, 2012

How long would it take me to walk from gate A47 (near the Express Tram Terminal Station) to gate A75 (near the Express Tram North Station)?

There are moving sidewalks in Terminal A from end to end so it' takes less than 5 minutes to walk from gate 46 to 75.

Many thanks, skiman2. I was very nervous about making a 45 minute connection from an incoming flight from MCI to an outgoing flight to BOS, but you have put my mind at rest! Greatly appreciated.

im arriving at mcnamara from toronto and need to catch another flight to korea. will i have to go through passport check, customs clearance, and re check bags before i get on my next flight? may be a.dumb question but please help!!

Your questions are perfectly legitimate. 1. As Pierson Airport has U.S. customs pre-clearance, take advantage of it and save time at U.S. arrival. 2. If you have two different airlines for each leg of your journey, do make sure that the first airline transfers your bags to the second one (if not, you would have to retrieve your bag and re-check it at that airline's counter. 3.Certain airlines serve at McNamara, others at the North Terminal. Your ticket should indicate your connecting terminal /gate, so will the overhead screens on arrival. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/dtw, click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down to the details text. Good luck.

My delta flight lands at the mcnamara terminal and i have to catch my next flight (also a delta flight) to korea an hour later. I know both these flights are in the macnamara terminal, but is there a specific concourse international flights usually leave from? and if so does it take long to get from concourse to concourse?

Yes, Delta is in the McNamara Terminal - no listing as to which Concourse. Most likely you will arrive on level 1 of the main building (domestic arrivals - as you cleared at YYZ) and connect at Concourse A. All concourses have corresponding gates, i.e., A gates: to the left A1-38; to the right A40-75. Signs will guide you to the pertaining concourse you need.

Do Canadian children under 16 need passports if flying within US...in our case Detroit to Orlando?

If arriving from Canada at DTW and using in Canada U.S. Customs clearance, you won't have to worry. Otherwise I suggest you contact your airline or the TSA (www.tsa.com).

How much time should I allow to get from the North Terminal at DTW to the Mcnamara terminal?

At DTW, a shuttle bus runs every 10 minutes between the McNamara and the North Terminals, taking 7 minutes. Concourse A of McNamara has 1.5 miles of moving walkways, but also uses the Express Tram serving the South station near gate A11, the Terminal station in the center near the water feature, and the North station near gate A67. Note that McNamara terminal has Concourses A, B & C with corresponding gates. Note that between Concourses B & C is an elevator down to gates C1-C7. - On arrival st DTW, look at the overhead screen to find your connecting flight, gate number & time.

My first flight is behind and i have a short amount of time in between flights. I'm flying into gateA and leaving from gateC of DTW. How long will it take me to walk from gate a to gate c? Help quickly please!

At DTW you arrive and depart from the McNamara Terminal. Concourse A has to the left gates A1-38; to the right gates A40-75, and at its center the tunnel connecting to Concourses B & C. Concourse C (American), has gates C8-43, arranged in five clusters, four of which have three gates on each side, the last cluster has gates C32-43. An elevator between Concourses B & C leads to the Lower Level gates C1 to C7.

  • Getting assistance after Clearence
    Apr 30, 2012

As usual I bungled my question. I am arriving at Metro on Delta from Rotterdam. I will have an invalid husband with wheelchair, plus three or two suitcases and one or more carry-ons. We are to connect with another Delta flight to Florida. Customs is not a problem as my husband is a retired Special Agent with Customs. Once we are cleared I will need assistance getting him and our luggage over to the proper area. Where do I obtain assistance?

Delta operates from the McNamara Terminal - Your arrival / departure should be at either Concourses A, B or C with corresponding gate number. Your ticket, as well as the overhead screens on arrival at DTW will indicate departure gate. As to your need for assistance, you may want to contact http://www.metroairport.com/information/contact.asp or call the Airport at (734) 247 7648.
