Hi, my parents have flights from New York to Incheon connecting Detoirt. Do they have to find their baggage at DTW?

If both flights are on Delta all they have to do on their way to Seoul is walk from their arrival gate to their departure gate.

    Thanks ZAP. Appreciate!

How to find my gate - traveling delta connecting from Narita Int. Airport to Manila Ninoy Aquino Int. Airport

Are you asking about a connection at NRT? If so all Delta flights are in the same area and you just have to walk to your departure gate.

Hi there, we have one and a half hours transfer time arriving from AMS with a Delta flight and leaving for TPA with a Delta flight. Will that be enough to go through all the obliged steps at DTW with 3 persons considering it will be our first time at DTW??

It's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

Thans ZAP we ll be prepared

I have an inbound flight from Los Angeles and an outbound flight to Amsterdam via Detroit, on Delta. Do I need to pick-up my luggage? Is it possible to get to my outbound flight in time?

No, you don't have to do anything with your baggage. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both on the A concourse of the McNamara Terminal.

Flying from houston to dtw, will we go through customs? Also driving from Detroit to buffalo ny through us road only, is there a check point on the way? Thanks!

Texas and Michigan are both part of the United States. There is no immigration and customs on domestic flights. There are also no roadside checkpoints within the US.

There is a checkpoint coming back from Brownsville to Houston, and all alongside the border with Mexico. If you fly from brownsville nationally anywhere in the usa you go through customs because it's in the border.

Even though Detroit and Buffalo are on the border with Canada, they aren't like that.

I have a flight out of DTW at 5:45 AM. I arrive at DTW via Bus at 4:35 AM. Will this be enough time to make my flight?

That should be enough time. However, it might be difficult if your bus goes to the McNamara Terminal and you are flying out of the North Terminal or vise-versa.

Thanks! And they are dropping me off at the right terminal as well otherwise that might be problematic haha.

  • Question:
    Feb 22, 2016
I am considering booking a flight into Detroit from Fort Myers and would have one hour to catch my plane to Minneapolis. I'm old and move slow. Is this enough time? I have not had the best experiences in Detroit. Thanks.

Yes, that should be plenty of time. Both flights will be on the A concourse of the McNamara Terminal.

Kansas to cleaveland by Delta flight with 39 minutes layover in Detroit will I be able to catch the flight from Detroit to Cleaveland

Yes, that should be enough time

  • Will I make my connecting flight?
    Nov 10, 2015
I am flying on Delta 3319 from HSV to DTW. My connecting flight is Delta 2793 to MSP. The layover is 37 minutes. Will I make my connecting flight?

If your first flight is on-time that should be enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in the McNamara Terminal. If your first flight is late, Delta operates many flights from DTW to MSP.

I'm completely new to flying so any helpful information would be appreciated. My flight is from Toronto to Detroit on delta and then I have to transfer to air france for a flight to Paris in 45 minutes. Will my bags be automatically transferred when the air lines are different or will I have to pick them up and take them to the departure gate?

On your way to Paris you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Minneapolis is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Your bags will be tagged through to Paris.

Sorry, that's all you have to do in Detroit, not Minneapolis.

  • YYZ -> DTW -> CVG
    Nov 26, 2014
Hi, I am travelling from YYZ to CVG, with a layover at DTW. I am on a B visa. I am also a Canadian PR holder. Do I have to go through Immigration at DTW? Also, my layover time is 48 mins, will that be sufficient time to go through all the procedures? Thanks.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. In Detroit all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Yes, 48 mins is enough time to do that if your first flight is on-time.

I have guests leaving DTW on a 6:00 a.m. American flight to Miami. One of the two guests will continue on to the Dominican Republic on another flight. What time do they need to check in for their flight? Two hours doesn't seem right as the airport is usually deserted at 4:00 a.m.
