Main Terminal / Concourses at Doha International DOH Airport
The Passenger Terminal complex at Doha International now consists of a Departure Terminal divided into 'Terminals' A & B on opposite sides (TA & TB) - located northeast of the more distant Arrivals Terminal . The small Premium Terminal is east of the Departure Terminal. Both TA & TB share duty-free shops, lounges and parking. Across from the Departures Terminal are the parking garages, and behind the garage at right is the mosque. The Qatar Airways Tower is on Al Matar Street. A separate Family Food center is on D-Ring Road.
The Departure & Transfer Terminal: This is Doha's Main terminal handling economy-class Qatar flights and other airlines.
Ground level: Terminal B entrance/exit is near center; Terminal A entrance/exit is at right. This level leads to gates 1-6.
Level 1: Silver, Oryx & Gold lounges, with access to gates 7-22 for TA,and gates 30-41 for TB..
Terminal A houses Qatar Aiways. While all Qatar's First & Business-Class passengers will continue checking in at the close-by Premium Terminal, all other Qatar passengers now check in at Terminal A.
Terminal B houses all of Doha's international airlines, other than Qatar. It offers 35 check-in counters, a new baggage handling system, and concessions.
Both TA & TB, offer all the amenities one expects to find in a large airport, including a separate mosque. Note that arriving passengers, who intend to leave the passenger terminal, need to have their baggage X-rayed before they can exit. Alcohol is banned and will be confiscated. Visas can be purchased on arrival.
The Arrivals Terminal - located southwest of the Departures Terminal, houses baggage belts 1 - 8, 22 immigration counters, eight e-gates, eight baggage carousels, 36 concierge desks for hotel transfers& rental cars, information counters, duty-free shops and the Al Maha & Premium Arrivals lounges.
The Qatar Premium Terminal with 6 gates, is exclusively used for Qatar's First & Business-Class passengers, who will be taken to the Departures Terminal via luxury bus or limousine service.
NOTICES:
1. Arriving passengers intending to leave the passenger terminal, need to have their baggage X-rayed prior to exit.
Alcohol is banned and will be confiscated. Visas can be purchased on arrival.
On arrival at Doha Airport, a bus will take you to the Arrivals Terminal; however, first- and business-class passengers will be transported via luxury bus or limousine.
2. Onward travelers receive at their embarkation airport a yellow boarding pass (instead of a blue one, which is for Doha final destination) and matching carry-on bag tag. When you enter the Transfer and Departure Terminal, please follow the signs that match the colour of your boarding pass wallet and cabin hand luggage tag to guide you to your respective security screening area and queue.
It may be noted that passenger reviews are praising the Airport, pointing out the efficient transfer of luggage, the quick immigration check, the reasonably-priced concessions and the small lounges with fully reclinable chairs and darkened room - great for transfer passengers with lots of time to kill.
Lounges at Doha International Airport:
(a) Privilege Club Gold members can enjoy the facilities in the Gold Lounge are entitled to bring a guest (who took the same Qatar flight) into the Gold Lounge. Members will be treated with five-star hospitality from the time they enter the lounge until they depart.
(b) Privilege Club Silver members are eligible for the Silver Lounge;
(c) First & Business Class passengers can avail themselves of the Oryx Lounge which includes a business center.
(d) The Premium Terminal at Doha International caters to passengers traveling First and Business class on Qatar Airways and are offered a five-star hospitality at the new Premium Terminal, the minute they walk into the terminal until they depart. It also contains its own Qatar Duty Free shopping area.
Doha Airport also offers a special 'Al Maha' service, whereby you will be met at the aircraft, taken care of in their lounge and assisted with departures & transfers (tel. +974 44 656 672 /fax 612).
NOTE: The new Hamad International Airport - after completion of Phase 1 of construction, is now scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2013, when Qatar Airways will move in - and other airlines will follow in phases. Thereafter the Airport is to handle only general aviation, military, & helicopter operations.
