The airport and tourist information desk is in the international arrivals area. Staff are available to help with any questions you may regarding your journey, the airport or the local area.

Lastminute.com
For last-minute travel bookings, sightseeing tours, theater tickets etc, the travel agent Lastminute.com has a desk in the UK and Ireland arrivals area. You can also book flights, hotels, city breaks and more.

Family Facilities

1. Baby changing - Edinburgh Airport has baby change rooms at:
pre-security - in UK arrivals (near Costa coffee shop);
pre-security - on the first floor near Borders book shop;
post-security - near Gate 11;
the international baggage reclaim hall (arriving passengers only).

2. Play Areas:
--There is a small unsupervised play area at post-security, near Gate 3, with toys and puzzles to help keep youngsters distracted.
--Fingabox interactive play screens for children are located near Gates 2, 4, 9 and 11 and in UK Arrivals.
--Some children's entertainments are also available in the family area of the first-floor Food Village (near Caffè Nero).

3. Foods / Essentials
Most restaurants and bars provide high chairs and children's menu. Baby essentials such as diapers, formula milk and wipes are available at Boots pharmacy.

4. At WHSmith carries comics and puzzle books to keep children entertained in the lounges and in the air.

Helping Hand - a daily (5am-9pm) service which provides your loved ones or business associates with personalized assistance.
On arrival, they meet the guest as they leave the aircraft, provide help with hand baggage; retrieve baggage from the reclaim hall; and arrange for onward transportation.
On departure, they meet the guest at the airport with a baggage trolley, assist with check in, accompany the guest to the gate, access to Fast Track through security, and provide a personal shopper service if requested.

Pricing is based on availability of Helping Hand and is for a period of two hours prior to departure for Departure service and one hour for the Arrivals service. Prices for individuals and groups up to four are as follows, all prices are inclusive of VAT.
Departure service without lounge access: Individual £23.50, each add'll guest £6.
Departure service with lounge access (children must be over 12): Individual £29.50, each add'l guest £12.
Arrival service: Individual £18, each add'l guest £4.

Left baggage The left baggage desk is in the UK Arrivals area on the ground floor. It is open seven days a week from 5:15am-10:45pm.
Prices (per item): up to 24 hrs: £5; daily rate after 24 hrs: £5; outsize items (bikes, golf bags, etc): £10 up to 24 hrs, £10 per day thereafter.

Lounges Servisair Executive Lounge offer a quiet space, complete with free drinks, snacks, newspapers and magazines. This hospitality for up to three hours prior to your flight includes also telephone and business desks with internet access (at extra charge), television and comfortable chairs. Located on the first floor, post-security--for departing passengers only.

Meeting at the Airport - There is no official meeting point, but many passengers find the airport information desk (in International Arrivals) or the Onward Travel information desk (UK and Ireland arrivals) convenient points to meet friends and relatives. Also, there are Costa cafés in both domestic and international arrivals areas, ideal for meeting returning travelers.
If meeting someone at the airport, check the flight before leaving the house. If picking someone up by car, follow signs for the Pick Up Zone on the airport approach road and park your vehicle in the designated bays on the ground floor of the multi-storey Short Stay Car Park.

Passport control will be clearly signposted on your arrival. There are two queuing areas, one for European Union (EU) and British nationals, the other for all other nationalities.

At the booth an immigration officer will ask to see your passport and any supporting documentation necessary for your visit. NOTE: A visitors' passports must not expire during a stay in the UK.
Long lines can develop during busy times but please be patient, as stringent checks help ensure security for visitors and UK residents alike.

Customs - If you have goods to declare, go to the red Customs point.
If you have nothing to declare and you are arriving from:
(a) an EU country: If your trip started in a European Union country (your hold baggage will have a green-edged tag), use the blue exit.
(b) outside the EU: If your journey began in a country outside the European Union (your hold luggage will have a white tag), use the green channel.

Connecting passengers - If transferring between two international flights, have your baggage tagged through to your final destination. You will still need to declare any items in your hand baggage which are liable for duty.
If you are connecting from an international flight to a UK flight you must clear Customs and immigration.

Travel advice - For your safety and to quickly pass through the airport, note the following:
1. Never carry anything into the UK for somebody else.
2. Never bring goods which are prohibited into the UK. If in doubt, ask at the Customs enquiry point.
3. If you are unsure about your duty/tax free entitlement, go to the Customs inquiry point.

If you lose an item in the terminal building, contact the Lost Property/Left Baggage facility in UK and Ireland Arrivals on the ground floor. If you've already left the airport, call +44 (0)131 344 3486. A charge of £4.50 per item is made for lost property.

If you leave property on an aircraft please contact your airline directly.

Pets are not allowed at the airport unless they are working dogs. Contact your airline as to their requirements. For overseas travel contact the embassy of your destination country as to their rules regarding shots, etc. Your vet will also be able to help you.
Smoking is banned by law in enclosed public spaces in Scotland. This includes all terminal buildings at Edinburgh Airport. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas outside the terminal. Individuals who smoke elsewhere are liable to a fixed penalty fine of £50.
