Omaha Eppley Airfield OMA
serves Nebraska's largest city Omaha and its surrounding counties and is gateway to the Midwest. While it is Nebraska's primary airport, it also serves parts of Iowa and some communities in Kansas, Missouri and South Dakota - due to their close proximity.
OMA is located on Abbott Drive (SR 165) - just four miles northeast of Omaha, and is accessible by Interstate Hwys. I-29 (from Sioux City), I-80 (from Lincoln or Des Moines) & I-480 from the South towards downtown Omaha).
Eppley Airfield is a small Airport with 'easy in - easy out' departures & arrivals procedures and getting very favorable passenger responses. The only negative is that the Airport is isolated from the rest of Nebraska, due to the Missouri River forming the NE Iowa border - whereby travelers must drive through a small portion of Iowa (namely the city of Carter Lake) on their way to Eppley Field.
With a total of six long runways and an average of 4 million passengers per year, Ohaha Eppley Airfield is served by major U.S. airlines (either directly or through their regional subsidiaries) - Southwest Airlines being the dominant airline - offering nonstop flights to a host of US cities with connections around the world.
Omaha Eppley Airfield has one passenger terminal - divided into a Central, North & South Terminals.
NOTE: As rush hour for early morning flights is between 5 & 7am - plan to be at the Airport for your domestic flights 90 minutes prior to your scheduled flight! (Food is available after security checkpoint.
