  • OMA Airport Overview
    Eppley Airfield Airport OMA is located four miles northeast of the City of Omaha, on Abbott Drive, accessible by Interstate Hwys 29, 80 & 480, and is Nebraska’s largest airport and gateway to the Midwest. Many major airlines serve the Airport offering nonstop flights to a host of US cities with connections around the world. Passenger traffic at teh Airport has more than doubled in the last decade and the airport has undertaken several airport and roadway improvement projects to better accommodate this rapid growth.

    The passenger terminal consists of a two-level main terminal connecting to A and B concourses. Ticketing and baggage claim are on the lower terminal level and access to the gates and food courts are on the upper level. Other terminal amenities include: rental car desks on the lower level center; a branch bank on the upper level south; ATM machines on upper levels north & south and lower level center; laptop workstations with high-speed internet access on upper level north & south; Free Wi-Fi access on upper level & concourses; snack bars on concourses & lower level center; shops on upper level, concourses and lower level center; shoeshine stands at concourses and Lost & Found in the police office, lower level gate 21 hallway.

    While rental car counters are near Door 3 of the passenger terminal, ready car spaces are on the first level of the surface parking structure (north of the 6-story parking garage), accessible by covered walkway across from Door 5.

    Parking options include:
    1. The Parking Garage across from the passenger terminal offers Quick Park (short-term) and Long-Term Parking.
    2. The Surface Parking Lot is closest to the Parking Garage and above the rental car return area.
    3. The North and South Economy Lots for long-term parking are on both ends of the Airport and offer free shuttle service to the terminal.

    To get from the Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi or limo, or a hotel or door-to-door shuttle. The Ground Transportation Center inside of Door 3 on the lower level of the terminal building has telephones connecting to certain shuttles. Also, local hotel/motel phone boards/reservation centers are near the north & south baggage claim areas.
    Taxi Cabs are to be found on the terminal front drive, outside of Door 2 on the south end. A taxi call button is on the island canopy outside Door 4 to call cabs from the south end to the north end: For a Safeway cab call 402-342-7474; for Happy, Checker, Yellow, Cornhusker & Metro cabs call 402-339-8294.
