I'm flying with United Airlines from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale arriving in Terminal 1 at 9:15 PM. My connecting flight is to Copenhagen with Norwegian from Terminal 3 at 11:45 PM. Will I have enough time to transfer.
FLYING SILVER AIRWAYS TO FLL BEFORE TRANSFERRING TO JET BLUE TO GET TO NY. WE HAD PURCHASED BOTH FLIGHTS WITH APPROX AN HOUR AND 15 MIN FROM LANDING UNTIL TAKE OFF. HOWEVER, SILVER AIRWAYS JUST PUSHED THE FLIGHT BACK AN HOUR. IS 20 MIN ENOUGH TIME, CONNECTING DOMESTICALLY? WHAT DO WE DO?!?!?!
I want to but this flight FROM: BOGOTA to Fort Lauderdale, FL / Miami, FL AREA 6:59 PM TIME: 3 hours, 54 minutes
1 hours 36 minutes layover
DEPARTURE: Fort Lauderdale, FL / Miami, FL AREA 8:35 PM ARRIVAL: Baltimore, MD / Washington, DC AREA 11:03 PM
I'm concerned about the layover, is it enough time?
Please help me, thank you very much in advance!!
I assume both flights are on Spirit. If your flight from Bogota is on time, you should be able to make the connection, but Spirit's on time ratings are among the worst in the USA. If you aren't checking bags, you should have an easier time.
Hello Andy, yes both flights are with Spirit, I hope I won't have to take my bags. Thank you so much for your answer.
I'm worried about my upcoming flights, I will have 2.6 hours layer over in FLL, from Havana, Cuba, for Jamaica. Will I be able to make it through the custom in time please?
My situation is that, I've been and will be travelling in and out of the U.S. a lot on my visitor visa due to flights from Costa Rica and Panama, and I'm now going to Mexico, Cuba and Jamaica. Each of them requires me to go in and out of U.S. . Last time I came in, because I was visiting friends + doing the great American roadtrips here for 3 months from before xmas, I was warned by the custom lady to be careful coz next time I come in and seem like I live in the U.S. for more than when I'm out, it'll be a problem. But I'm only here to travel, not to live here. I live in New Zealand - why would I wanna live here?? I'm just travelling this year around the U.S. & Central America, it's not like I'd like to always come in and out of the U.S. but I do have only 90 days here to travel every time, and I do make sure to leave the country every 3 months before finishing my roadtrip within the U.S..
Custom officers don't seem to like travellers like me that travel for a long time & come in to the U.S. so often. Which I understand. But I AM going by the rule by travelling outside the U.S. So I'm worried that while exploring other countries this year, custom officers might put me in a separate room to question me, and that'll really make me miss my flight...
Please let me know what you think. Sorry if my situation is a bit more complicated than other travellers'.
Thank you for your time.
Are you changing airlines? If you remain in the same terminal, you have enough time. If you are changing terminals, you should still have enough time but it will be cutting it close depending on if you are checking bags.
I arrive by Emirates from Dubai to FLL at 11 AM in Terminal 4 and need to take Jetblue B6376 at 1.30 PM to PHL from terminal 3. Since layover between flights at FLL is just 2.5 hours , will there be sufficient time to go through Immigration, collect luggage, change terminals ( terminal 4 to Terminal 3), checkin at Jet Blue counter, go through security and Board aircraft? How much time will it take to go from Terminal 4 to Terminal 3 ? Are they interconnected through walkway or train/ shuttle? What is the latest before takeoff, will Jet Blue counter accept checkin and boarding? Thanks
That is just enough time if everything goes smoothly. T3 and T4 are right next to each other - you can walk between them. You need to have your bags at the JetBlue Counter 45 minutes before your flight.
I'm a UK citizen, I've a flight from columbia to Fort lauderdale and then have to pass through security and read check in to get my flight to london 3 hours later, will I need a visa for this?
UK Citizens do not need a visa to visit or transit the US. You just need to complete ESTA. You will go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security in Ft. Lauderdale.
Okay great thank you, so I don't need to do anything in advance then?
Hi Zap, I'm in the exact same situation as Sam but I'm French and fly to Paris and not London (Columbia to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Lauderdale to Paris). Do you think I need a visa? I'm a bit worried to get stuck at the airport. Thank you!
The flight from newark to FLL is spirit airlines and lands at 6:24pm. Then I have a 2 hr and 6min layover. I would have to get my bag, recheck in, and go through security for my next flight. Which takes off at 8:30pm and is Bahamasair.
Do you think I have enough time to do all of that and make it to my connecting flight?
That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
