My flight is from Bangaloreto Stuttgart via frankfurt. (Both flights lufthansa). I have a layover time of 1 hours... Is this enough for transfer.

It will be difficult unless the flight from Bangalore arrives early.

I am flying Lufthansa and I have a three hour layover in Frankfurt from my flight from Atlanta and then I go on to Rome. Is there enough time to go to the lounge or would you advise against it? What are some good ideas for things to do at Frankfurt during our connection?

yes that is enough time to go to a lounge

Goodday, I have a flight from Berlin (TXL) to Frankfurt (FRA) with 1.5 hours between flights. I believe Air Berlin arrives at terminal 2 and Air Canada departs from terminal 1. Guessing there would be an exit passport control plus change of terminal, is this doable (with no checked baggage?). Or would it be best to book a Lufthansa connection out of Berlin? **The ticket would be separate tickets.

With no checked baggage this is probably doable.

hello. I am a lebanese passport holder with a valid US visa. Traveling from Canada to Istanbul via Frankfurt Main. 2 different airlines: Air Canada: from Canada to Frankfurt Lufthansa: from Frankfurt to Istanbul Ps: I do not have any luggages. Just a carry-on baggage of 5 kg. My question is the following: Do i need a transit/visitor Visa for the layover? (i have a valid US visa) i read online that i will need a transit/visitor visa if i want to to pick up my baggage and/or have to check-in again. in my case, i do not have any baggages. but i need to check in again at the lufthansa counter to get my boarding pass to Istanbul?? Do i need a visa / transit visa in my case? thank for your help.

Since you have a valid US Visa and both flights are in Terminal 1 you can stay in the sterile transfer area and do not need a Schengen transit visa.

  • 55min layover enough

I am having flight from Ljubljana to Toronto with connection in Frankfurt. Plane arrives to Frankfurt at 8:25 and then departures from Frankfurt at 9:20 AM. Is 55 min layover enough for international flight?

That should be just enough time if the flight from Ljubljana is on-time.

Thanks Zap, yeah i also think it is doable. i have JP116 flight that comes to terminal 1. Due to small plane there is no gate but need to take the bus. I then go with AirCanada 873 flight that is also terminal 1, gate B should be doable ....i am little worried above the baggage might not make it :=. . Adria flights are usually on-time --> as per last month stats earliest arrival was at 8:08, while latest was 8:38 ....but most were on site around 8:20AM

  • 1 hour stopver in Fra from Dublin to Bangkok

Hi. Is this enough time to get to my connecting flight? Both flights are with lufthansa. They advise online that you should have a minimum of 2 hours layover for international flights.

That should be enough time. All you have to do in Frankfurt is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I would be having a 7 hrs layover at FRA on my way to Orlando on single ticket by Lufthansa from Nigeria. Would I need to collect my luggage at FRA? Would I have to stay within the Airport premises for the 7 hours lay over as I would be traveling with my kids?

No, you don't have to do anything with your baggage. Unless you have a German visitor visa you have to stay inside the airport.

Thanks. But I would have places to relax for the lay over period ?

Yes, FRA Terminal 1 has many amenities in the international transit area.

    Thanks. Very Useful

  • Can I make my connection?
    Jul 1, 2016
HI--welcome all help from knowledgeable layover gurus...I'm flying from Florence to Dusseldorf and then on to LA (all on Air Berlin). I only have 45 minutes to make my Dusseldorf - LAX flight...what will I have to go through once I deplane in Dusseldorf? Is this too close a connection to be safe with? Thanks!

Note that you asked this in the Frankfurt forum, not Dusseldorf. That should be just enough time in Dusseldorf - it's not a big airport.

  • what do I do with luggage for 11 hours
    May 30, 2016
Hello, We are flying from Chicago, USA (United Airlines)to Johannesburg, SA (South African Airways) with a stop in Frankfurt for 11 hours. We'd like to leave the airport and spend some time in Frankfurt. Will we have to collect our bags? If so, where can we leave them while spending the day in Frankfurt? Thank you!

  • connection time at FRA on flight back to US
    May 20, 2016
My flight form Florence (Lufthansa LH313) to the US connects to United UA927 in FRA with 1:15 min layover. Is this enough time? From my research flight LH313 lands at an adjunct terminal (?) and requires a bus to transport to Terminal 1. I assume I still needs to walk to the United Air terminal and goes through security? Do I need to go through passport control here in FRA or will it be done in Florence? Thank you in advance

You will not have to go through security. You will go through a brief process called Schengen exit passport control and then go to your departure gate. you should have enough time.

Thank you ZAP. I just found out flight LH313 (actually CH313 as it is operated by CityLight?) is frequently 15 or 20 minutes late, which makes the 1:15 min layover actually more like 55min to 1hr. Does it make it too tight and leave no room for error? I have yet to book my flight for this reason.

  • Long Layover Guide to Frankfurt and the Frankfurt Airport
    May 13, 2016
I came across an interesting Facebook page promoting a cheap (99 cents!) eBook titled "The Long Layover Guide to Frankfurt and the Frankfurt Airport". Appears to be a useful guide for travelers who have a few hours of transit time.

  • is enough the 45 minutes layover to take the othe plai for philadelphi
    May 13, 2016
.my flight starts from milano to frankfurt and i have to take the other plane to go in philadelphia .is 45 minutes enough ?

You will have to go through Schengen Exit passport control in Frankfurt. This is a difficult connection if all tickets are on the same reservation, but not completely impossible.

It will depend on several factors. The !minimum connection time at Frankfurt airport is 45, but, sadly, this is often too little. NOW, if your connection is on Lufthansa or United, the flight will with 99% certainty depart from concourse Z (which is one level above level concourse A -- they are in the same part of the airport, with A being the domestic part and Z the international part). Here is an important piece of advice: there is a tunnel connecting concourse A(Z) with concourse B. Your flight from Milan will arrive either in concourse A or concourse B. Should you need to change concourses, make sure to take the tunnel as it will be the fastest way. In concourse A, the tunnel entrance is between gates A15 and A17 (take the tunnel down to level U1 to enter the tunnel). In concourse B the lift to the tunnel is near gate B19. Buona fortuna.
