  • connection time at FRA on flight back to US

My flight form Florence (Lufthansa LH313) to the US connects to United UA927 in FRA with 1:15 min layover. Is this enough time? From my research flight LH313 lands at an adjunct terminal (?) and requires a bus to transport to Terminal 1. I assume I still needs to walk to the United Air terminal and goes through security? Do I need to go through passport control here in FRA or will it be done in Florence? Thank you in advance

You will not have to go through security. You will go through a brief process called Schengen exit passport control and then go to your departure gate. you should have enough time.

Thank you ZAP. I just found out flight LH313 (actually CH313 as it is operated by CityLight?) is frequently 15 or 20 minutes late, which makes the 1:15 min layover actually more like 55min to 1hr. Does it make it too tight and leave no room for error? I have yet to book my flight for this reason.

I came across an interesting Facebook page promoting a cheap (99 cents!) eBook titled "The Long Layover Guide to Frankfurt and the Frankfurt Airport". Appears to be a useful guide for travelers who have a few hours of transit time.

  • is enough the 45 minutes layover to take the othe plai for philadelphi

.my flight starts from milano to frankfurt and i have to take the other plane to go in philadelphia .is 45 minutes enough ?

You will have to go through Schengen Exit passport control in Frankfurt. This is a difficult connection if all tickets are on the same reservation, but not completely impossible.

It will depend on several factors. The !minimum connection time at Frankfurt airport is 45, but, sadly, this is often too little. NOW, if your connection is on Lufthansa or United, the flight will with 99% certainty depart from concourse Z (which is one level above level concourse A -- they are in the same part of the airport, with A being the domestic part and Z the international part). Here is an important piece of advice: there is a tunnel connecting concourse A(Z) with concourse B. Your flight from Milan will arrive either in concourse A or concourse B. Should you need to change concourses, make sure to take the tunnel as it will be the fastest way. In concourse A, the tunnel entrance is between gates A15 and A17 (take the tunnel down to level U1 to enter the tunnel). In concourse B the lift to the tunnel is near gate B19. Buona fortuna.

Hi, I have a flight from Dusseldorf to Seattle with a 1h45min layover in Frankfurt. Both legs are run by the Lufthansa group. Is the layover enough time?

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

I have a flight from Santo Domingo to Prague (with Condor) then a more than 2 hour layover at Frankfurt Airport (next flight is with Lufthansa. My question is will I have to pass through inmigration again or since the tickets say they are in the same terminal just go the gate? I will be checking one bag, but will I have to get it again and recheck it once I arrive in Frankfurt?? (the same as when you go to the US from abroad where you recheck your bag). I don't want my bag to get lost!!!!

You will go through Schengen passport control and security in Frankfurt. You won't have to do anything with your bag.

Hi, I am arriving by Lufthansa from India and have 55 mins to catch the next Lufthansa flight to Oslo. Feasible?

That will be very difficult as you will have to go through Schengen passport control and security in Frankfurt.

Travelling to FRA from SJC via LH489 and have a 1 hour 25 minutes layover before I take LH754 from FRA to BLR. The flight arrives at Terminal 1 and LH754 also departs from Terminal 1. Is the layover too tight.

That should be enough time. All you have to do in Frankfurt is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

We fly into F'Furt from Manchester and then have 5.45 mins before the 20.45 flight to J'Burg. Realise that we can check our luggage straight through , but will we remain airside for this duration? Trying to work out what to do - thinking a meal but then lounge (Luxe) e is landside , so don't know how that would work and probably want to be more active rather that sit down - any ideas for a walk ( round the airport) and where we could leave our hand luggage? Would there be anywhere to have a shower prior to our evening flight? Any suggestions for a restaurant?

Yes, you will stay airside. FRA airside is very large so there's lots of places to walk.

I made a mistake looking at my itinerary. I actually have 2 hours and 15 minutes layover in Frankfurt. Will that be enough time? And how do I ensure my luggage will transfer from Lufthansa to Aegean? Also, the 45 minute layover is in Thessaloniki Greece going to Santorini. Is that enough time? I know that is a smaller airport. Thank you so very much.

2 hrs 15 mins should be plenty of time. If you purchased your tickets together the bags will be tagged through to Santorini. Both Lufthansa and Aegean are in Star Alliance.

I am coming from the US and traveling to Thessaloniki Greece with a layover in Frankfurt. My layover time is 45 minutes. I understand Frankfurt is a huge airport and I want to make sure that is enough time. Also, will my luggage be transferred or would I need to get my luggage and check in again?? Any advice or tips would be much appreciated.

You will not have to claim your luggage but that is a very tough connection since you will go through Schengen Immigration and security on your way to your departure gate.

You barely have enough time fo ryour connection. Yes, you need to go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US customs, re-check your bags with United, then take the ATS Train from Terminal 5 to Terminal 1 and go through security and to your departure gate. Just bringing a carry-on will save you a little time.

Oooo wow. Thank you so much for you reply! I really appreciate it. It really has helped. I guess I should just bring a carry on... :(

I am travelling from San Francisco (USA) to Barcelona (Spain) having a layover at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). I am arriving at Frankfurt via United UA926 with layover of 1hr15min to catch Lufthanan LH1132. Would 1hr 15min be too rush in this case? Thanks in advance for any advise
