How do I get from B to Z. Is there a train? Or do I have to just walk the distance?

  • From Bus gate 1A to gate Z69
    Aug 5, 2014

I am making the journey MAN - FRA - HKG this coming Xmas which means I will be transferring from LH947 to LH796. I noticed that LH had schedule changed the departure time of LH947 from MAN in their winter 2014 timetable from 1745 to 1800 and now 1805 resulting in just 90 minutes (i.e. 15 minutes shorter) connecting time available at FRA. With LH796 now regularly departing from gate Z69 and that LH947 normally arriving with a bus connection to bus gate 1A, is this connection going to be tight given the walk required from bus gate 1A to gate Z69 with transfer security along the way?

90 minutes should still be enough time.

  • Is 45 mins enough time for connection (ARN-FRA-IAD)

Flt from ARN arriving 12:15; flt to IAD departing 13:10. Do I have to go through immigration, etc. OR is there separate internat'l departure? What gates do I arrive/depart?

You will go through Schengen exit passport check and then security at your departure gate. You won't know your exact gates until the day of your flight. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • Dublin - Frankfurt - Athens 50 min layover
    Jul 28, 2014

Hi. We are flying lufthansa from Dublin to Athens via Frankfurt and have a 50 minute layover (although the last few connections I looked at seem to have have 1hr or 1 hr 10mins). From what I can tell, the dublin flight usually gets in gate B22 or C02 and the Athens flight usually leaves from gate A58 - > A69. Is 50 minutes enough time to make that transfer and will we have to go through security? Would you recommend running, or skytrain? Thanks

I am travelling from Bangalore to Stockholm via Frankfurt. The flight no. from Bangalore to Frankfurt is LH755 and from Frankfurt to Stockholm is LH802. The Time gap is 1 hr. 10 Mins. Could you please give me information if the time gap is sufficient to catch the flight given I might need to go through immigration and security checks. Thanks,

It's possible but difficult as you will have to go through Schengen immigration and the gate for your Stockholm flight may require taking a bus to the aircraft.

Your flights are listed today as arriving at T1-B, at B gates, and departing at T1-A/B, gate A. Level 3 of Terminal 1 is connected via transfer tunnel to A & B gates and the SkyLine train runs between Concourses A, B, D/E in the secured area.

  • distance between B10 to B61

im arriving at B10 and taking a connection to B61. i only have an hour without delays. how many minutes walk?

You will have to collect your baggage after clearing immigration to clear customs. If you want to continue onto Atlanta you'll then re-check it with US Airways. If you want to go straight home, then you can just get picked up as you'll already have your bags.

Yes all international arrivals need to go through this procedure. You can buy separate tickets for each leg of your journey. After customs clearance take your bag with you (a) checking it in at connecting airline counter for onward travel, or (b) exit terminal at CLT with bags.

Thank you ZAP, your response was helpful.

Thank you sujun for your response as well.

Travelling with two kids next Friday with LH865 and then LH456. Layovertime is 1.45 which I thought was sufficient until I started googling... Do I need to run with my kids and how many checkpoints do I need to go through? (I was really looking forward to this trip, but now I have started to worry....)

  • Traveling from US to Switzerland via Frankfurt

Hi There, I am on US Permanent Resident card and traveling from US to switzerland via Frankfurt and back via same route.I have schengen visa from swiss embassy. Can you please tell where would my date of entry and exit for schengen visa be stamped and if I need any transit visa for making this connetion in Frankfurt? Would appreciate your response. Thanks sonu

Since Moncton does not have pre-clearance you will actually not arrive in A. You will arrive in C. You will then go through US Immigration and Customs. Then go up to go through security, then if your flight from IND is from C you just go to your gate in C, but if it is in A you take the shuttle to A. The shuttle runs frequently.

  • Need info re: flight from US through Frankfurt to Italy in June 2014

Hello! I am wondering if I have planned enough time for my travel FROM the US (California) to Frankfurt to Bologna Italy in June. I have only one hour and twenty minutes layover in Fankfurt before catchng the flight to Bologna. On my return, going from Bologna through Frankfurt, then back to US (California), I will only have 1 hour and 10 minutes layover in Frankfurt. How much time do I need on my outbound and returning flights during layovers in Frankfurt and what immigration, customs and security checks will there be in each location (and what will that entail?) Thank you for your assistance! I am traveling alone and just found out about my trip!

I'm flying Toronto (YYZ) to Frankfurt (FRA) on Lufthansa 6789 (operated by AC) with a 2h 15m layover until my flight from Frankfurt (FRA) to Budapest (BUD) on Lufthansa 1336 (operated by Lufthansa). Is the 2h 15m layover sufficient?

forgot to add all flts are on DL

You will arrive in Terminal 4. You will go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through customs, then re-check your baggage with Delta. Then you can go up to the departures level and through security then take Delta's shuttle bus to Terminal 2 where your ORD flight will depart. Or you can take the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train from T4 to T2 and go through security in T2.
