  • MUC - FRA - MIA with 45 min. in FRA
    May 4, 2016

Hi, I fly from Munich (MUC) to FRA (arriving at Gate A) and have a 45 minutes connection for my flight to Miami (MIA) at Gate Z, all flights with LH. Do I have to pass passport control and security check? Thanks!

    Gate A: Bus arrival

You will have to go through Schengen Exit Passport Control but not security. Apparently the lines at Schengen Exit Passport Control for the bus gates are really bad. This will be a difficult connection.

I will be taking UA944 from Chicago to Menchester (UA9458/ LH940). The connecting time is only 1 hour 20 minutes. Do I need to pass the passport control and do I have enough time? Thank you.

Since you are not entering the Schengen Area you will not go through passport control in Frankfurt. You have enough time.

    Thank you

Travelling from Toronto to Geneva via Frankfurt.. Toronto to Frankfurt with Condor and Frankfurt to Geneva with Lufthansa.. Will I have to collect my checked baggage at Frankfurt? Also, is a layover of 1 hour and 40 minutes enough to go through passport/security? Thanks in advance!

If all tickets are on the same reservation then you will not have to claim your bags in Frankfurt. You will just go through Schengen passport control and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

i am a citizen of Nigeria flying through FRANKFURT from Barbados to Nigeria.. I would be staying 5 hours in the international transit area.. Do i require a transit visa for this route?? because it was stated online that transiting through frankfurt and not leaving the international area doesn`t require a transit visa..

Unless you hold a valid US Visa, Nigerian citizens are required to hold a Schengen Airport Transit Visa to transit the Schengen Area, even if they are staying wtihin the transit area. - http://www.schengenvisainfo.com/transit-schengen-visa/

But i got this online, what doesnthis mean precisely In these five airports in Germany you can stay at the International Transit Area without a visa: Cologne/Bonn Düsseldorf Frankfurt/Main Hamburg Munich

  • changing terminal, two separate tickets,do I need visa

If instead I have to change terminals from 1 to 2 in Frankfurt but also am arriving in Frankfurt on condor but to Bombay on Emirates. I do not need a visa intransit but if changing terminals do I need a visa

It depends on your Citizenship and if you hold a valid visa for the US. Where are you coming from? Are your tickets on one reservation or two separate reservations?

The person has a Nepalese passport. He does not have any visa for the USA. This option would be on two separate tickets.

I am booked on one ticket arriving on Condor in Frankfurt at 12.35pm to leave Frankfurt to Bombay on Lufthansa at 1.35pm. Do I have to clear immigraion and is that enough time.

I can't answer that question unless you post where you're flying from and flying to.

Holding a Nepalese passport arriving in Frankfurt at 12.35pm on condor and leaving on Lufthansa to Bombay at 1.35pm. One ticket issued.

We are Ukrainian flying from punta Cana to Kiev, we stop in Frankfort terminal #1, our connection flight is at terminal #2, do we go through custom and immigration to get to terminal#2? If yes do we need travel visa to change terminals?

The Skyline train allows transfer between terminals at FRA without having to go through passport control.

We are flying Srilanka airlines which arrives on Terminal 2. Our connecting flight Air Canada is from Terminal 1. Is 1 hour 50 minutes enough time to transfer from one terminal to another. Our flight is not until August 2016.

I am flying LH to Frankfurt, then Condor to Seattle USA, with 90 minutes connection time. Is it enough? Which terminal do I fly into and which do I fly away from? Thanks!

Both flights are in Terminal 1. If both tickets are on the same reservation you have enough time.

    Thanks ZAP!

  • Vancouver to Split

Traveling from Vancouver (YVR) to Split, Croatia (SPU) on Lufthansa. Flight from Vancouver arrives in FRA at 1100 and connecting flight from FRA to SPU departs at 1205 also on Lufthansa. Is that enough time for connection? Do I only have to go through passport control and not worry about picking up my luggage in FRA? Thank you!

You won't even go through passport control as Croatia is not yet in the Schengen Area. you just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

  • Flight from Singapore - Frankfurt & Frankfurt - Punta Cana
    Apr 26, 2016

Good afternoon everyone, I'm a Dominican Republic citizen and I will be heading back home from Singapore. My flight is originally with Lufthansa 779 with a connecting flight from Frankfurt to Punta Cana with Condor 2230. I was informed by my Travel Agent that I will need to get my luggage & check in for my connection with Condor once I arrive in Frankfurt. My question is does that mean I will need to go through immigration/customs? Or I will remain in the connection area of the airport? Dominican Republic Citizens are only entitle to a Transit Visa for 24 hours in Frankfurt.

If you need to claim and re-check your baggage then you will need to go through passport control in which case you will need a transit visa.

  • Getting from A to Z in 1 hour connection to IAD
    Apr 25, 2016

I traveled through Frankfurt 2 days ago. I arrived from Brussels (via Florence). Plane parked on tarmac and we were bused to A (stops at A1). The loading and travel time was almost 25 mins. From there I went up the stairs and encountered a huge line for passport control. I waited in this line for 15 mins before realizing I would miss my flight if I did not do something. In this huge mass of people, I got the attention of one of the Lufthansa agents that are posted in the front of the line for no apparent reason. You would think they might be there to organize the line based on flight priority, but no. They do nothing. I said my flight leaves in 20 mins, what should I do? No suggestions or offer of help. The other people in line, who were also in danger of missing their flights, said I should just cut the line. So I did, collecting others with me along the way. We got near the head. At that point I started directing people to the open passport control agents. I seriously worried about getting arrested for upsetting the order of things but there really is no order. If you don't cut the line you will miss your flight! If you are lucky perhaps there won't be much of a line as it was for me when I traveled over (larger planes can park at the gate which shortens the time). But the truth of the matter is you have to cut. What they need to do is set up some kind of queue priority based on flight time. But that should have happened by now. Even after cutting the line I had to run to gate Z22 and only made the flight by 5 mins. Ridiculous.
