I will arrive at Frankfurt terminal 2 from Atlanta on 8:45 and then I need to catch the connecting flight at terminal 1 on 10:30. Do I have enough time to make this transfer...I only have my carry one with me and don't have any checking baggage.... What is typical transfer time from terminal to terminal...? Thanks..

With Carry-ons only you can take the Skyline - you should have enough time.

We are flying from Boston to Frankfurt then onto Hamburg, all on Lufthansa. We have 95 minutes connection time. On the way home we are flying from Copenhagen to Frankfurt to Boston, all on Lufthansa. Also with 95 minutes connection time. Will these layover times be long enough assuming our flights are on time?

Yes, that should be enough time.

Hello. I have just 1 hour between arrival from BRU in FRA and departure from FRA to Beijing. Both LH flights on the save reservation. Is this enough time and what should I do ( security, passport...) Thank you

Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in Frankfurt is go through Schengen exit passport control and to your departure gate.

I'm flying with Lufthansa from Toronto through Frankfurt to Barcelona; stop-over time in Frankfurt is 3:05 hr. Is this enough time? Passport control? How would baggage be handled? Thanks.

Yes, that's plenty of time. You just have to go through passport control and to your departure gate. You don't have to do anything with your bags if both tickets are on the same reservation.

  • Vancouer->Heathrow->Frankfurt->Rome

Looking to book flights from Vancouver to Rome, and one option is Vancouver->Heathrow->Frankfurt->Rome. There is only a 50 minute window in Frankfurt. Current flights seem to have Arrival in the B Concourse and Departure out of A (not sure if that is consistent). I don't quite understand the EU/Schengen rules on where we clear passport controls and security, is 50 minutes enough? Have more breathing room at Heathrow so I'm not so concerned at that Leg.

You will go through passport control in Frankfurt. That is a difficult connection.

Looking at a flight arriving from Zurich and continuing to Dallas both with Lufthansa. Connection is only 50 minutes. Is that enough time?

That's just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • 3 hr 15 min for baggage recheck
    Aug 18, 2016
I am flying from Mumbai to Frankfurt (Lufthansa) and then Frankfurt to Dallas (British). These are separate tickets so I think my checked bag needs to be collected and rechecked again. Will ~3 hours be enough or am I cutting it too close? Thanks in advance

Note that your Frankfurt to Dallas flight will be on American. That should be barely enough time.

Thank you. Yes the flight to Dallas is operated by American. What do you think is a safe layover time? I could get another expensive flight which will give me 4 hours, will that be sufficient?

Yes, 4 hours should be enough time.

  • Tight transfer

We will be arriving FRA from Almaty, Kazakhstan on Sept. 1 and have about a 1 hour layover. Will we need to go through passport control again, or will we transfer to our London Heathrow bound flight directly, in the same terminal?

You will go through security, but not passport control. Yes, both flights will be in Terminal 1. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Thanks. Is there a way to know gate location of each flight? And, how would we get mobile assistance if needed (my husband can have difficulty walking long distances quickly).

  • First layover in Europe- connection question
    Aug 15, 2016
After a ticketing switch by United, we're arriving at 5:55a from CHI on United and scheduled departure 7:35a to Rome on Lufthansa. They assured me this is enough time but I've never had an international layover. Do we go through customs/immigration in Frankfurt? Is this enough time? Thank you.

You will go through passport control in Frankfurt, you don't have to do anything with your bags. You should have enough time.

    Thank you for your help

  • connection question part 2
    Aug 15, 2016
Me again, easier to break into two posts. Arriving BSL-FRA on Swiss air (though purchased through LH/'operated by LH') at 7:40AM. Will likely need to check a bag since my US sized carry-ons do not meet the Swiss Air criteria. Departing DL FRA-JFK at 10:30a. Is this enough time to collect bags, check in for flight to JFK, and go through security? Seems like plenty of time but I could pack differently if needed. Thanks again :)

Yes, that should be enough time. if everything goes smoothly.

    thank you x 2

  • connection question

Arriving JFK-FRA at 10A on DL, carry-on only. Separate booking, FRA-VCE on LH, departing at 12:25. My itinerary says FRA-VCE is terminal 1. A few questions: 1) What terminal for JFK-FRA arrival? 2) If my US size carry-on is too large for the LH flight, will LH check it at the gate? 3) I am not sure if I will be able to check in for the LH flight at JFK, if I need to check in at FRA, will this be doable airside? 3a) I am in business class FRA-VCE, could I check in at the LH lounge? Thanks very much.

You will arrive in Terminal 2. They should be able to check your carry-on at the gate if it's too big. You won't bea ble to check in for the LH flight at JFK. YOu can check in online or at the transfer desk in FRA. I do not believe flying business class on an intra-European flight gives you lounge access.

  • Connection from flight from Tel Aviv to flight to Washington DC
    Aug 13, 2016
I arrive in Frankfurt at 1120 and have a flight to Washington at 1320. Both flights are on Lufthansa and are at Terminal 1. Do I need to go though security again and/or passport control?

All you have to do is go to your departure gate.

  • Enough connection time between united and lufthansa?
    Aug 13, 2016
I'm looking at a ticket with 1 hr connection. Arriving on United (IAH) and connecting on Lufthansa to MAD. I understand it's same terminal, but passport check and security concerns me. I'd prefer not to book for the flight 4 hours later to MAD. Please let me know your thoughts.

1 hour is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Thank you. Got the ticket. I will run after getting off the plane just to make sure.

  • Beirut to Frankfurt then to Lisbon
    Aug 12, 2016
Hi, I am flying from Beirut to Frankfurt and then to Lisbon with only 50 min connection, is it possible? will i be able to make it on time and will the luggage be carried on to the next plane? Can you please give instructions to where i should go so that i don't lose time. Thank s

If both flights are on Lufthansa that is just enough time. You don't have to do anything with your bags in Frankfurt.

We are planning a flight from Budapest to Newark via Frankfurt. Is one hour and 10 minutes enough to allow to change planes? THANK YOU in advance.
