  • Connecting from Moscow to Atlanta on Lufthansa flights

Hello! I'm flying from Moscow to Atlanta via Frankfurt. Flights are lh1451 and Lh444. I understand that connection is within same terminal, but different halls. What kind of visa/passport or security control will I need to pass as Russian citizen? Is 1:55 enough for the connection? Any recommendations how to make it smoother? Thanks a lot!

Since you are coming from the US and not entering the Schengen area, there should be no security or passport control. You should have enough time.

Thanks for prompt response! My travel is actually in opposite direction from Russia to US. sorry if it was not clear. Does such connection involve any security or paperwork control?

Sorry, misread that. In Frankfurt you will go through security but not passport control.

Hi, I am travelling with family from Bangalore to Newark (LH - 755) on March 22, 2016 via Frankfurt. Can you please let me know which terminal the arrival at Frankfurt would be at? Is it terminal 1 or 3? Thanks Bob

Both flights will be in Terminal 1 in Frankfurt if they are on Lufthansa.

    Thanks

I am flying into FRA from Los Angeles on April 2nd and my layover is only an hour and 15 minutes... Am I going to have to claim my bag, go through customs and then board the next plane? Any help is greatly appreciated.

No, you don't have to do anything with your baggage if both flights are on Lufthansa. All you have to do is go through Schengen passport control and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

    Thank you!

  • 1hr 25min connection - Is it sufficient time

I am travelling from Calgary, on Air Canada AC844 and connect to Lufthansa LH756. I believe both arrive and depart from Terminal. Have never transitted through Frankfurt before. Is 1hr 25M enough. Also, do I need to redo security and passport check. Never experienced this at Heathrow where I normally transit through. Any insight would be most helpful

    I meant Terminal 1

Since you are not entering the Schengen Area and are coming from Canada you don't have to do passport check or go through security. Just go to your departure gate.

    Thanks ZAP. Much Appreciated

Hello I am travelling on the Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Frankfurt. This arrives at 6:45Am. I have a connecting Air Berlin flight from Frankfurt to Berlin (TXL) at 8:25Am. Questions: 1) Please advise on terminal information for Qatar Airways and AirBerlin. 2) In which airport do I have to undergo passport control. 3) Do i have enough time to transit and make my connecting flight.

Qatar Airways uses Terminal 1 but Air Berlin uses Terminal 2. You will go through passport control in Frankfurt. You should have enough time to take the skyline between terminals.

    Thanks for the reply ZAP

What terminal does American Airlines use in Frankfurt and what terminal does Lufthansa use for departures to Copenhagen ?

American uses Terminal 2 and Lufthansa uses Terminal 1. If you are doing this connection with checked baggage you need at least 3 hours between flights.

Hi, I am new to flying internationally, apologies in advance if I seem clueless. I will be flying solo from Prague to Frankfurt & then Frankfurt to Seattle. Booked through Condor on the same ticket, got a notice recently that my layover was shortened to 3 hours. Is this enough time to make it through security, passport control, etc...? I am planning to check one bag as well.

Ah, and another question--How do I search which terminal I fly into and out of? The E confirmation doesn't indicate any terminal info. Thanks for any help!

3 hours is still plenty of time. All you have to do in Frankfurt is go through Schengen Exit passport control and to your departure gate.

Arriving in Terminal 2 with American Airlines from USA/DFW to Frankfurt. No checked bags. 1 1/2 hours until Lufthansa flight to Dublin, Ireland, I am assuming Terminal 1. Is this do-able?

With no checked bags I think you'd have a chance, it's by no means easy though.

  • United to Lufthansa on Sunday morning

I have a flight arriving on United from Newark at 9:15am on Sunday and connecting at 11:10 on Lufthansa to Venice. Do I need to worry about making that flight? We don't have to get our bags and go through customs in Frankfurt, do we? Thanks for your input!

You should have plenty of time. You just have to go through passport control in Frankfurt. You don't have to do anything with your bags.

i have layover of 2.25 hrs at frankfurt >Is it enough time to board LH 760 Lufthansa plane in Terminal 1? What is passport control. What procedures i have to follow and will i be able to board my lufthansa flight for Delhi on time in 2.25 layover time?

You are not entering the Schengen Area so you don't go through passport control. You have enough time. You don't have to ask essentially the same question 3 times.

Thanks ZAP .last query is how long it wil take for security check.

I do not believe arrivals from Canada have to go through security for connections, but if you do, it will be a brief process.

  • Leipzig to FRA to Penn
    Mar 3, 2016

I am flying from Leipzig arriving at FRA 9:15am via Lufthansa and leaving to Philadelphia 11am via American Airline. 1h 45 min is enough? I have Japanese passport with US residency.

Do you have checked bags? I assume the two tickets are purchased on separate reservations, correct?

Yes, I have checked bags. These tickets were purchased separately.

Then no, I don't think that's enough time.

If I change the flight from Leipzig arriving at FRA at 7:05am? 3h 55min would work?

Yes, I think that would work

Thanks, ZAP. I will change it, and I have decided to do without luggage check-in just in case.

  • Is 1.10hr layover sufficient
    Mar 2, 2016

I have a 1.10hr layover at Frankfurt (Bom-FRA then FRA-LJU). Both seem at the same terminal. I will be checking my baggage through and through (same airline). Would the 1.10hr layover be sufficient?

To add to be query above, I am an India passport holder and will be holding a Schengen visa. The airline is LH.

Yes, that should be just enough time.

Many thanks ZAP! That's some reassurance. :) And would you know if i would need to do a passport/immigration check at Frankfurt or would it be at LJB?

Yes, since Lithuania is in the Schengen Area and you are entering the Schengen Area in Frankfurt you will go through entry passport control in Frankfurt. You will not have to go through passport control when you arrive in Ljubljana.

Thanks again ZAP! Will have to keep my fingers crossed for a short passport control line!

  • LH T1 to BA T2

I have an LH flight arriving T1 at 15:00 then a BA flight leaving T2 at 17:15. They have different reservations, so I have to get bags and re-check-in. Is there enough time??

Where is your Lufthansa flight from?

Hi there, I will be facing more or less the same transfer soon. I have 3 hrs 20 mins to go through security, get my checked in luggage, check in for the BA flight and get to the gate. Is this possible? Do share your experience if you have already made the journey. Thank you.
