I will be arriving on Lufthansa from Denver, CO into Frankfurt at 11:10am. I have a connecting flight to Nuremberg at 1:00 pm also on Lufthansa. Will i have enough time? Also, if I check luggage, will it go all the way through to Nuremberg or do I have to re-check it in Frankfurt? Thank you

Yes, that is enough time. You don't have to do anything with your bags in Frankfurt. Just go through passport control and to your departure gate.

Forgot to say that it looks like a change from Terminal 1 to Terminal E. Do you still feel this is ok? Thank you so much for your responses!

Frankfurt does not have a "Terminal E". Both flights are in Terminal 1. The "Terminal E" you are seeing is your arrival terminal in Boston.

Hi, I'm flying from Milano Linate Airport, LH 271, on Tuesday, arriving Frankfurt Terminal 1 at 11:55 a.m. (if it's on time). However, I'm concerned because my next flight is LH 422, leaving for Boston at 1:04. This is only a 70-minute change. Will I have to go through security again? And what is the best way to ensure I don't miss that flight? I had thought, the last time I did this, that there was a special shuttle but somehow I wound up on that needed a security re-check. Thank you!

No, you do not have to go through security again. You shouldn't have to take a shuttle either. Just go through Schengen Exit passport control and to your departure gate. You have enough time.

No, you don't have to do anything with your bags in Frankfurt.

    Thank you very much!

  • Is 1hr05 connection time sufficient between terminals?

Hi there, I will be flying from Seoul, arriving 17:00 at terminal 1. I then have a departure from terminal 2 going to London City? Is a 1hr 5 minute connection time enough? Thanks

If it's two separate reservations and you have checked baggage, that is not enough time. If you can provide more info on airlines, tickets, and baggage, I can help you more.

Certainly. It's booked as one reservation from Seoul to London City, business class. Flying Asiana to Frankfurt and then BA Cityflyer to London. As I understand it I won't need to re-check in baggage at Frankfurt.

That is correct, you won't have to re-check bags in Frankfurt, You just have to take the Skyline to Terminal 1. This is doable, but leaves no time to spare.

Ok great, many thanks for your help.

I'm flying Air Lufthansa from the Uk to Frankfurt then continuing with the same airline to Toronto. I will only have carry-on luggage. Is 1h 50 minutes enough time?

Yes, that's plenty of time. All you have to do in Frankfurt is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Hi. Our flights have been rescheduled slightly and our arrival from Edinburgh is now due at 20:55 and our departure to Johannesburg scheduled for 22:05. Is this enough time to connect and what security controls will we have to go through? We haven't travelled to FRA before. Thanks

That's enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Arriving to Gate A40 via LH and departing from Gate B45 on LH to IAD. Is that enough time? How much wiggle room is there?

Where are you flying into Frankfurt from?

  • First time transfer question, from US to Finland via FRA

Going to be our first time in FRA. Arriving from Boston on LH423 at 5:35AM. Then connecting onward to Helsinki on LH 848 at 9:35AM (Same tickets). I have a Thai passport and a friend has a US passport. What's the transfer process like? Do we have to go through custom and immigration before going onward to HEL? Does having an Aegean Gold help?

You will go through passport control then to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

Hi! We're thinking of booking LH949 MAN to FRA, Layover 55min, LH1292 FRA to LCA. We will be travelling with two small children (2 and 5). Will we make the connection? Do we have to go through passport and security? I have a non EU passport. Thanks!

Yes, that should be enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Air Canada to Lufthansa Connection 1:20 Wheels down to Wheels Up

Air Canada to FRA, then 1hour, 20 min to takeoff on Lufthansa flight to FCO. Same terminal. I will be using my gate checked folding mobility scooter which should be brought up from the cargo hold with the kiddie strollers to the aircraft door so I can ride it to my Lufthansa flight. Do I have to go through security between flights? Will this timing work?

Times given are not wheels down to wheels up - they are gate to gate. You do not have to go through security. You will just go through Schengen entry passport control. You have enough time.

We've got a transit of 1.5 hours in FRA, but are on separate tickets (Croatian Air & Virgin Australia) and we're concerned about having to collect bags and checking in to the next flight. Is this going to be long enough?

On two separate reservations, no I don't think that's long enough.
