Hello, I will arrive at 10:05 at FRA with Lufthansa and I have the next plane at 11:45 to Shenzhen with Air China. Do I have to recollect my luggage in FRA and check it in again or is my luggage transferred from the LH plane to the CA plane? Is 1h50 enough for this transfer, considering the passport checks?

Where are you flying into FRA from? Are both flights on the same reservation?

I fly in from BRU. They are indeed on the same reservation (booked through an agency).

Yes, that should be enough time. You just have to go through Schengen Exit Passport Control and to your departure gate.

  • IAD - FRA - PRG

Are FRA and PRG in the same schengen zone? Only 55 minutes between connecting flights on same ticket from IAD-FRA-PRG. Travel companion is concerned we'll miss connection. Do we go through passport control or just straight to gate?

Yes, Frankfurt and Prague are in the Schengen Area. You will go through passport control in Frankfurt. It is a difficult connection but possible.

  • YYZ -FRA - Nice

air canada from Toronto transfer to Lufthansa to nice. Will i have to go through security between transfers at FRA? I have 90 mins to transfer. Recently flew YYZ-FRA-UK and had to run from gates A-z to Gate B (Terminal 1) take the train and go through security again. Missed flight due to long line at Security, late landing. Hoping to not have to repeat that experience again.

  • ZRH - FRA - DFW
    Nov 7, 2016
Hi there, I fly from ZRH via FRA to DFW. I have a connection time of 50 minutes. Do I have to go through handbag security check? Is the connection time enough to catch my connection flight? thanks for your answer...

You will not have to go through security. Just Schengen exit passport control and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes perfectly.

  • Houston to Vienna
    Nov 7, 2016
Hello, I am flying from Houston to Frankfurt via United Airlines later this week. I arrive at Frankfurt at 11:50am, and connect to Vienna at 12:50pm via Austrian Airlines. I am really concerned about this 60min layover! Do I have to recheck my bag? Are these terminals and/or gates close to eachother? Is this 60min time frame feasible?

You don't have to do anything with your bag. Both flights will be in Terminal 1. All you have to do is go through Schengen Passport control and to your departure gate.

So do you think the one hour time frame is doable?

Yes, it doesn't leave much time to spare but it's doable.

Oh great! Thank you so much for the advice! I'll just make sure to walk super fast, or maybe even pick up a light jog! I appreciate your time!

  • BHX to FRA to SZG

Hope you can put my mind at ease! First time at FRA and first time transferring! Lufthansa through booked flights on Sunday 18th December. LH953 into FRA AT 11:35 then OS264 out to SZG AT 12:30... Only 55 mins to transfer Return is OS265 landing FRA 15:35 then LH956 out at 16:20... Only 45 mins! Not too worried about the return flight being bumped because we're coming home and I could do a bit of plane watching but... The 55 minute outbound worries me... Most people say at least an hour from what I've seen on here... Our flight always uses a remote gate too! Lufthansa say it's doable but... Do you think we need to rebook the concert we're going to in Salzburg that night? Thanks in advance all !

Those are pretty difficult connections. You will also have to go through Schengen entry passport control.

Thank you ZAP... Going to write to Lufthansa to request FOC rebooking (crossed fingers)

  • Florence to SFO via FRA
    Nov 3, 2016
Is 1 hour 30 enough? From all the (very helpful!) comments here, it seems like it would be plenty of time as I would only have Schengen passport exit. True? Thank you!

Yes, that should be enough time. That is correct.

  • Terminal 1 to terminal 2
    Oct 31, 2016
Arriving to Frankfurt Terminal 1 from Kuwait city (Lufthansa 635), needing to get to a connecting flight to Munich (Lufthansa 65) in Terminal 2. I only have 1 hour to make this connection. Is this enough time? I am a USA passport holder.

No Lufthansa flights use Terminal 2. Both flights will be in Terminal 1. You have just enough time as you will have to go through security and passport control in Frankfurt.

Great, thank you for the information. and its Lufthansa flight 96 to Munich. My mistake.

If both flights are on the same reservation that is just enough time.

  • Connection to US

Hi there My mother is a first time solo traveller and will be flying from MAN to DEN via FRA, all flights on LH on one ticket. I just wanted to clarify so I can let her know; when she gets off the flight from Manchester, does she follow signs for transfers? Or just follow the sign for her gate? Will she go through passport control either way? Thanks!

She just follows the signs to her departure gate. She won't go through passport control since she isn't entering the Schengen Area.

Hello, I am arriving from Cananda ( stanby ) to Terminal 1 FRA and I have a connection in Terminal 2 for Air France ( CDG), also stand by, witout being checked in for the second flight. No luggage. I have one hour. Will I make it? Thanks in advance for the answer.

It will be difficult. You will need to get a DM card or something from Air France to go to Terminal 2.

  • Enough time for connection?
    Oct 23, 2016
I have a connection in FRA on separate tickets, arriving on WOW (Terminal 2) from Iceland and departing on Croatia Air (Terminal 1) with only 1 hour and 40 mins layover. I do have a checked bag. Assuming no delays, do I have enough time to catch my flight to Croatia? Also, what is the quickest way to transfer my checked bag? Is there a transfer counter or do I have to exit and check in at the front desk? Since I am traveling on different airlines with two different tickets, is there a way to have the checked bag rerouted to the final destination? Thanks in advance!

You will have to claim your bags, take a shuttle to Terminal 1, re-check your bags with Croatian, then go through Schengen Exit passport control and security and to your departure gate. You do not have enough time to reasonably make your connection.

How long does it typically take to go through this entire process?

Personally I'd want at least 3 hours.
