Hi , I am scheduled to arrive from Australia via Vietnam at Frankfurt (Terminal 2) at 6.30am on 29 June and plan fly to Vienna the same day, at 10.50 am - does this give me enough time to go through passport control ( I have a EU passport ), collect luggage and re-check in or is this cutting it too close? Many thanks in advance.

Since you are not entering the Schengen Area they will not go through Immigration. Just through security and to their departure gate.
I'll be arriving from Singapore to Frankfurt for a plane transfer over to Italy via Lufthansa 779. I will be arriving at terminal 1 and my connecting flight is at terminal 1 .I have one hour to make the connection. Do i need to go through passport control/immigrations/customs and collect my checked in luggage and check in again?
All you have to do is go through Schengen Entry passport control and to your departure gate. You have just enough time.
