Friedrichshafen Bodensee FDH Airport Overview

Friedrichshafen Bodensee Airport FDH ) serves the south-western State of Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany and its Bodensee area.
The Airport is located 3km north of the city of Friedrichshafen, and can be reached via B30 motorway via a new access road (B30 connects to the north with A7 (at Ulm) and to the south with B31 (along the northside of the Bodensee). Situated on the lake 'Bodensee', it shares its border with Switzerland and is close to the Austrian border.

With an estimated 570,000 passengers in 2012, Frierichshafen Bodensee Airport is served by domestic and international airlines  offering direct and connecting flights to European, North African, and Middle Eastern cities. Seasonal charter flights to popular vacation destinations are also available.

NOTE: Opening hours of the passenger terminal depend on flight schedules. For very early charter flight departures the terminal opens at least 2 hrs before. In general the terminal is closed between 11pm and 4am (no overnight stay at the Airport!).

To get from the Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi, a bus, a train, a boat or catermaran. 
1. A taxi ride to the city train station takes 10 minutes and costs about 10 EUR. A number of taxi companies serve the Airport, among them is Alex Taxi Service (tel: +49 (0) 75 41 / 59 99 59).
2. Shuttle buses wait outside the terminal.
3. Express Buses run weekdays between the cities of Konstanz & Friedrichshafen.
4. The train station ‘Friedrichshafen Flughafen’ is right across from the passenger terminal. The local ‘Bodensee-Oberschwaben Bahn’ (BOB train) runs between Aulendorf and Friedrichshafen Harbor and stops at the Airport (the ninth stop after Aulendorf).  DB Bahn (the German Railroad) also stops at the Airport station. 5. The catermaran is the quickest connection to Konstanz by crossing the lake, taking 46 minutes, operating 6:02am-8:02pm, and costing 9.50 EUR. Tickets are available at the information desk.
