    Gainesville Regional Airport GNV is located off Interstate 75 and Route 24, east of the city of Gainesville, in the County of Alachua, Florida, and is minutes from the University of Florida. The Airport serves north-central and the heart of Florida through all means of aviation: Commercial airlines, general aviation, military and air cargo. Delta's and US Airways's jets are offering more seats and flights in spite of the current economic situation.

    In December 2008 the Airport unveiled a newly renovated interior of the passenger terminal, completing thereby Phase II of its long-term Renovation Project. Phase II included the enclosure of the 4,400 square-foot former exterior courtyard into passenger waiting space with a large skylight to bring in natural light. High-tech glass has been used to allow more natural light while blocking the sun’s heat. The newly enclosed atrium also allows more seating in the gate area to accommodate additional passengers when multiple flights are departing. The atrium is complete with 12 rockers. Some of the most visible improvements include a new central space for concessions, changes to the passenger screening space and meet and greet area to improve flow, new signage, restrooms and new furniture to complete the look. Additionally, a lounge was completed just for the airport’s Road Warrior membes. Future renovations comprising Phase III are planned to improve the baggage screening process, the terminal building’s exterior and additional improvements in energy efficiency. Also, as part of the economic stimulus project, the airport will receive thorough restoration of the apron and a perimeter security and wildlife fence.

    Long- and Short-term parking is available and the first 30 minutes are free.
