Main Terminal / Concourses at Gainesville Regional GNV Airport
The passenger terminal at Gainesville Regional Airport is located on NE 39th Av. - about three quarter of a mile east of Waldo Road intersection.
It includes the enclosure of the 4,400 square-foot former exterior courtyard into passenger waiting space with a large skylight to bring in natural light. High-tech glass has been used to allow more natural light while blocking the sun’s heat. Solar panels are efficiently heating & cooling the terminal.
The enclosed atrium allows more seating in the gate area to accommodate additional passengers when multiple flights are departing.
Some of the most visible improvements include a new central space for concessions, changes to the passenger screening space and meet and greet area to improve flow, new signage, restrooms and new furniture to complete the look. Additionally, a lounge was completed just for the airport’s Road Warrior members.
The baggage carousel area now has a high-tech screen advising passengers of area resources.
Amenities and serv ices inside the passenger terminal: free WiFi access and has an ATM machine in the baggage claim area, accepting major credit cards.
Food & drink are available (a) at pre-security: a full-service restaurant/ bar, gift shop /news stand; (b) post-security: a bar, snack shop, gift shop /news stand.
For frequent flyers there is now a new Road Warrier Lounge in the terminal for members of the Airport Raod Warrier Club.
